Quantum dot (QD)-based RGB micro-LED technology is seen as one of the most promising approaches towards full color micro-LED displays. In this work, we present a novel nanoporous GaN (NP-GaN) structure that can scatter light and host QDs, as well as a new type of micro-LED array based on an NP-GaN embedded with QDs. Compared to typical QD films, this structure can significantly enhance the light absorption and stability of QDs. As a result, the green and red QDs exhibited light conversion efficiencies of 90.3% and 96.1% respectively, leading to improvements to the luminous uniformity of the green and red subpixels by 90.7% and 91.2% respectively. This study provides a viable pathway to develop high-uniform and high-efficient color conversion micro-LED displays.

AbstractThis work presents a method for obtaining a color-converted red light source through a combination of a blue GaN light-emitting diode and a red fluorescent color conversion film of a perovskite CsPbI3/TOPO composite. High-quality CsPbI3 quantum dots (QDs) were prepared using the hot-injection method. The colloidal QD solutions were mixed with different ratios of trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) to form nanowires. The color conversion films prepared by the mixed ultraviolet resin and colloidal solutions were coated on blue LEDs. The optical and electrical properties of the devices were measured and analyzed at an injection current of 50 mA; it was observed that the strongest red light intensity was 93.1 cd/m2 and the external quantum efficiency was 5.7% at a wavelength of approximately 708 nm when CsPbI3/TOPO was 1:0.35.

ABSTRACTWe have demonstrated the color conversion of blue micro-LEDs by means of QDs. In this paper, we will present characterizations that highlight this phenomenon. We already obtained conversion with a complete disappearance of the blue incident signal and a strong color saturation from deep blue (x=0,1626; y=0,0144) to deep red (x=0,6743; y=0,3244).

In this paper, combining phosphorescence and fluorescence to form white light was realized based on DCJTB:PMMA/ITO/NPB/TCTA/FIrpic:TCTA/TPBi/Ir(ppy)3:TPBi/TPBi/Cs2CO3/Al. The effects of red fluorescence on this white light device was studied by adjusting the concentration of DCJTB. The study shows that the device with a DCJTB concentration of 0.7% in the color conversion layer (CCL) generates a peak current efficiency and power efficiency of 23.4 cd ⋅ A[Formula: see text] and 7.5 lm ⋅ W[Formula: see text], respectively. And it is closest to the equal-energy white point of (0.33, 0.33) which shows a CIE (Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage) coordinate of (0.35, 0.43) and a color rendering index (CRI) of 70 at current density of 10 mA ⋅ cm[Formula: see text]. In order to improve the efficiency, we design and fabricate both high efficient and pure white organic light-emitting diode (WOLED) by replacing the single blue emission layer (EML) with double EMLs of FIrpic:TCTA and FIrpic:TPBi. The further study shows that, when the layers of EML is three and the concentration of DCJTB at 0.7%, the device exhibits good performance specifically, at current density of 10 mA ⋅ cm[Formula: see text], the current efficiency of 28.2 cd ⋅ A[Formula: see text] (power efficiency of 10.3 lm ⋅ W[Formula: see text]), and the CIE coordinate of (0.33, 0.31) (CRI of 80.38).
