In recent years, wearable devices for physiological parameter monitoring in sports and physical activities have been gaining momentum. In particular, some studies have focused their attention on using available commercial monitoring systems mainly on horses during training sessions or competitions. Only a few studies have focused on the jockey’s physiological and kinematic parameters. Although at a glance, it seems jockeys do not make a lot of effort during riding, it is quite the opposite. Indeed, especially during competitions, they profuse a short but high intensity effort. To this extend, we propose a wearable system integrating conductive textiles and an M-IMU to simultaneously monitor the respiratory rate (RR) and kinematic parameters of the riding activity. Firstly, we tested the developed wearable system on a healthy volunteer mimicking the typical riding movements of jockeys and compared the performances with a reference instrument. Lastly, we tested the system on two gallop jockeys during the “137∘ Derby Italiano di Galoppo”. The proposed system is able to track both the RR and the kinematic parameters during the various phases of the competition both at rest and during the race.

In sport and training, it is necessary to continue monitoring the physiological parameters of athletes to ensure that they can maintain a high level of competitive state. The previous monitoring physiological status methods mainly are contactable by sensors that are worn on body. This paper adopts a non-contact physiological parameter monitoring method by using imaging photoplethysmography (iPPG). In order to eliminate the noises in iPPG signals, the correlation energy entropy threshold adaptive denoising and variance characterization sereies are introduced to resist the noises from external conditions. The noises are remove by a threshold which is estimated by noise energy entropy. The constructed signals after denoising are used to estimate physiological parameters, such as heart rate and respiratory rate. The experimental results demonstrate that it estimates the physiological parameters better by usng iPPG based physiological parameter monitoring method than previous methods.

Abstract For an arbitrarily shaped object manipulated by a robot hand, this paper presents a procedure for analyzing the position and rotation ranges of the object, and a procedure for designing the kinematic parameters of a hand to meet given requirements on the motion ranges. Rotation dexterity index, dexterity charts, and a dexterity scalar characterizing both position range and rotation range are introduced for the performance evaluation of a robot hand. Least-square-error iteration and steps are detailed for the kinematic parameter determination of a robot hand.

Wearable health monitoring systems (WHMSs) have become the most effective and practical solutions to provide users with low-cost, noninvasive, long-term continuous health monitoring. Authentication is one of the key means to ensure physiological information security and privacy. Although numerous authentication protocols have been proposed, few of them cater to crossdomain WHMSs. In this paper, we present an efficient and provably secure crossdomain multifactor authentication protocol for WHMSs. First, we propose a ticket-based authentication model for multidomain WHMSs. Specifically, a mobile device of one domain can request a ticket from the cloud server of another domain with which wearable devices are registered and remotely access the wearable devices with the ticket. Secondly, we propose a crossdomain three-factor authentication scheme based on the above model. Only a doctor who can present all three factors can request a legitimate ticket and use it to access the wearable devices. Finally, a comprehensive security analysis of the proposed scheme is carried out. In particular, we give a provable security analysis in the random oracle model. The comparisons of security and efficiency with the related schemes demonstrate that the proposed scheme is secure and practical.

IoT based water quality parameter monitoring system is a significant interest in the field of cost-effective smart water quality monitoring systems. As we know that the population growth of your country is high in last few decades. In India, the demand for freshwater for drinking purposes, agriculture, and other activities is much higher than compared to other countries. The requirement of a smart water quality parameter monitoring system is necessary to reduce the time required in the traditional approach of water quality monitoring, and for real time monitoring. This literature survey work has been conducted in the field of smart water quality parameter monitoring systems. Sensor-based smart water quality parameter monitoring in past some research carried out which is deployed in the water.
