Currently, information technology plays an important role in the tourism industry. Tourists like to use social media more widely for their travel planning, which affects the high competition between entrepreneurs while facing the challenge of improving the quality of data services provided through social media. This study developed a model of the relationships between structure factors that affect intentions to use social media for travel planning. The said model integrates the technology acceptance model (TAM) theory, the theory of planned behavior (TPB), and trust and satisfaction factors. In reference to a survey of 1333 samples from domestic tourists who used social media through their smartphone, it was found that satisfaction, attitudes, subjective norms, and perception can be used to control behavior, with a positively direct effect on intentions of use. In addition, we examined the indirect effect on intentions of use. Perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and subjective norms had a positively significant indirect effect on intentions of use. These research results allow tourism entrepreneurs to precisely understand the stimulating factors of tourists’ intentions to use social media for travel-planning decisions, which will help lead to the development of tourism-marketing strategies and the support of sustainable competition.

Background: In tourism, globally there is a growing interest in social media marketing research. However, most previous research on social media marketing has focused on large tourism enterprises such as chain hotels, leaving out small tourism businesses such as travel agencies and tour operators. Objective: The aim of this research was to establish factors that influence attitude towards the use of social media marketing by travel agencies and tour operators in South Africa. Method: The study adopteda quantitative approach through the use of questionnaires. Data used in the analysis were collected from 150 travel agencies and tour operators by means of a structured questionnaire. Multiple regression analysis and one-way ANOVA were used for data analysis. Results: The results showed that managerial support and managers’ level of education are the two main internal factors which influence attitude towards the use of social media marketing. Pressure from competitors, perceived benefits and perceived ease of use were found to be the most prominent external factors which influence the use of social media marketing. The results also revealed that technical knowledge moderates the relationship between attitude towards social media marketing and the level of social media marketing usage. Conclusion: The study concludes with these recommendations: Management of travel agencies, tour operating businesses and the South African government should support the use of social media marketing by small tourism businesses through providing training and workshops on social media marketing for the employees to acquire the required skills.

The study directs to analyze the perception of teachers towards the adaption of social media as a new technology for the enhancement of teaching performance. The collected data contains a sample of n=130 faculty members of two public universities of Sindh province of Pakistan. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been used in the framework of the study. The data were analyzed by the Smart Partial Least Square (PLS) software version 3. The aggregate response from the teacher's rate is 94.7% for the current study. More than an average social networking source, Whatsapp mostly used 58.46% by the teachers of public universities. The teachers of public universities use 92.31% of Facebook and 67.69% of Whatsapp less than four hours per day. Acceptable scores of Cronbach’s Alpha through reliability values appear greater than 0.70 up to 0.987. Moreover, both AVE and CV are indicating acceptable scores. A value of SRMR below 0.08 is a depiction of good fit. The study confirmed all the established hypotheses indicating the factors including Perceived Usefulness and the Perceived Ease of Use and towards teachers’ performance and satisfaction are significantly affected by the use of social media. Therefore, the study finds a stronger association of social media use to Perceived ease of usefulness. It is also observed that the Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use appear crucial factors to make a significant prediction about teachers’ performance after using social media in Pakistan.

E-commerce is a general concept in the process of buying and selling products or services through the internet network. The Technology Acceptance Model theory explains the factors that influence the behavior of users of information systems, The purpose of this study is to obtain empirical evidence of the effect of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norms, and quality of information on interest in using e-commerce. This research was conducted on all active college students majoring in Accounting class 2016 at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, totaling 115 college students. The sampling method used in this study was saturated sampling and the data analysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norms and quality of information had a positive effect on the interest in using e-commerce. The study examined the level of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) of social media within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to ascertain the usefulness of social media among Pre-service Teachers in Ghana. Stratified random sampling was used to select 391 Pre-service Teachers for the study. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analysed based on descriptive statistics and an Independent sample t-test. This study found that majority of the Pre-service Teachers use two social media platforms; WhatsApp and Facebook. The study further established a significant difference between Pre-service Teachers whose usage of social media sites specifically affect their perceived usefulness and those that specifically affect their perceived ease of use. The study encouraged teachers to integrate e-learning applications like Blackboard, Google Classroom and Edmodo in their courses (using the blended learning approach) as they have social media-like features that students have already embraced. This study contributed to research on the possibility of integrating social media into teaching and learning in Colleges of Education in Ghana.

In response, to little research focused on how Jordanians perceive and respond to m-commerce and the main factors that govern its adoption and use, this article proposes a conceptual model that extends the technology acceptance model (TAM) with important factors related to consumers and companies like perceived trust, perceived security, subjective norms and service quality. The proposed model was validated and then tested utilizing a sample of 200 students. Results indicate that a perceived ease of use, a perceived usefulness and service quality are the major drivers of m-commerce adoption among Jordanian users. In contrast perceived trust, perceived security, and subjective norms are not significant toward the adoption process. A detailed analysis and results follows this article.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the use of social media (SM) and its influence for increasing students’ participation in the quota reform movement at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Design/methodology/approach The revised technology acceptance model (TAM) was used to formulate this research’s hypotheses. A survey was administered to obtain data about students’ intention to use SM. The survey consisted of a set of questions based upon the revised TAM model. A total of 498 surveys were distributed and 304 students responded to it; hence, response rate was of 61.04%. A regression and single way ANOVA were conducted to test the hypotheses. Findings The results indicate that most of the students use SM for academic purposes and to get connected with friends. Among the social networking tools, Facebook is the most widely used by the respondents. Findings supported that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of SM affect student’s intention to increase participation in the quota reform movement. There were no significant relationships between gender and politics with the use of SM. Research limitations/implications A sample of students from Dhaka University was taken and the sample size was small. As a result, the findings of this study cannot be generalized in other settings. SM has a positive effect in the societies where change happens through collective actions. Originality/value Why and how students use SM has been widely discussed over the available literature, but students’ intention to use for it for social movements has not been studied. This study has made an effort to empirically examine the use of SM in the context of the quota reform movement in Bangladesh.

Nowadays, social media applications (SMAs) which are quite popular among students have a significant influence on education sustainability. However, there is a lack of research that explores elements of the constructivist learning approach with the technology acceptance model (TAM) in higher education. Therefore, this research aimed to minimize the literature gap by examining the SMA factors used for active collaborative learning (ACL) and engagement (EN) to affect the students’ academic performance in measuring education sustainability, as well as examining their satisfaction from its use. This study employed constructivism theory and TAM as the investigation model, and applied a quantitative method and analysis through surveying 192 university students at King Faisal University. Using structural equation modeling (SEM), the responses were sorted into nine factors and analyzed to explain students’ academic performance in measuring education sustainability, as well as their satisfaction. The results were analyzed with structural equation modelling; it was shown that all the hypotheses were supported and positively related to sustainability for education, confirming significant relationships between the use of SMAs and the rest of the variables considered in our model (interactivity with peers (IN-P), interactivity with lecturers (IN-L), ACL, EN, perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), SMA use, student satisfaction (SS), and students’ academic performance (SAP).

The purpose of the study is to explore the antecedents of university students’ fitness application usage behaviours by combining the theory of planned behaviour and the technology acceptance model. An anonymous questionnaire survey was adopted to address the objectives of the study. Purposive and snowball sampling was used to select eligible students from six universities in Zhanjiang City. An online survey was used to collect data from 634 eligible subjects, and partial least squares structural equation modelling was used to analyse the collected data. The results indicated that the students’ perceived usefulness (β = 0.17, p < 0.05) and perceived ease of use (β = 0.32, p < 0.05) concerning the application and their attitude (β = 0.31, p < 0.05) toward it significantly influenced their usage intentions. Furthermore, perceived usefulness (β = 0.11, p < 0.05) and perceived ease of use (β = 0.38, p < 0.05) fully mediated the relationship between subjective norms and usage intentions. However, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control did not enhance the students’ intentions to use fitness applications. That is, students’ attitudes and fitness application design are the determinants of usage intention. Accordingly, improving students’ fitness applications usage intention requires strategies that involve customised services, social networking, and collaboration with schools; this would further increase students’ engagement in physical exercise.

This study aims to examine the factors that influence muzaki's interest in paying zakat through Kitabisa.com with the Technology Acceptance Model and Theory of Planned Behavior approaches. In addition, this study analyzes the relationship pattern of the perceived usefulness, ease of use, attitudes, subjective norms, and behavioral control towards muzaki’s interest. The method used in this study is a quantitative method using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The analytical tool used is the SmartPLS version 3 software. The data collection technique was through distributing questionnaires with a total sample of 180 respondents. The results showed that muzaki’s interest in paying zakat through Kitabisa.com was influenced by perceptions of ease of use, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavior control. This study proves that perceived ease of use has a significant effect on perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a significant effect on attitudes. Meanwhile, perceived usefulness has no significant effect on the interest in using Kitabisa.com digital zakat services. In addition, perceptions of ease of use, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioral control have a significant effect on the interest in using Kitabisa.com digital zakat services.

The use of technology in education is not a fad anymore- it is real and happening at a fast pace. Students are expecting lecturers to become more and more adept at using technology and to make use of the media available to transfer knowledge. Therefore, lecturers in all tertiary institutions have tobecome more and more adapted in the use of technology. In many instances there is a disconnection between the expectations of these two groups and the main aim of this study was to investigate lecturers’ perceptions on the use of social media networking systems in the transfer of knowledge, at an open distance learning (ODL) tertiary institution. The study also investigated whether lecturers feel at ease when using social media networking systems, whether they will be able to find information on these social media networking systems and whether they believe it will be an effective and easy way to present course content. These aspects were tested by making use of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) constructs namely; ‘Perceived ease of use’, ‘Perceived usefulness’, ‘Attitude towards using’, and ‘System accessibility’. A survey was distributed to lecturers, and it was found that lecturers regarded ‘Perceived ease of use’ as being the most important factor to consider when they are using social media networking systems.
