AbstractTravel planning is a long and tedious process for tourists since it requires processing a vast amount of information. Recommender systems can be used to facilitate the process of scoring points-of-interests (POIs) according to the travelers’ interests and creating feasible itineraries. However, itinerary planning is personal and each itinerary created must reflect the interest of the traveler as well as his/her travel style. In this paper, we extend the creation of multi-day round trip itineraries by adding different personalization options such as the pace of the traveler and diversity level of the route. The information about the travel style of the user is used to personalize the visiting duration of each POI and to create routes for each day that follow the constraints defined by users. We conducted a user study through a mobile application and the results show that the added personalization options improved the recommended multi-day round trip walking tours from a user’s perspective.

AbstractWhereas the search for information when starting to plan a trip is generally perceived as enjoyable, families with a disabled child may associate this step with anxiety and stress. This is due to a lack of information and poor consideration of disabled children’s needs in most tourist websites, making it difficult for such families to find answers to their questions. In this context, the present research attempts to understand the online travel planning process of families with a child with a disability in order to propose solutions adapted to these families’ needs.

Introduction. The era of the Covid-19 pandemic has had a serious impact on changes in various areas of our society, and also predetermined the transformation of the Russian tourism industry. The purpose of the work is to identify new trends in Russian tourism in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.Methodology and sources. The study used the method of selective observation and the method of forecasting, carried out the sociological analysis of the works of modern scientists N.A. Voskolovich, I.V. Loguntsova, B.M. Eidelman, O.A. Bunakov, L.R. Fakhrutdinova, V. Durly and the large-scale study of the impact of the pandemic on the tourism industry in Russia (906 respondents). Results and discussion. The author has deepened his understanding of the process of de-globalization in relation to Russian tourism during a pandemic. The pandemic is accelerating de-globalization, the megatrend that could become strategic in tourism for the foreseeable future. This experience will contribute to the emergence and popularization of new tourism trends: the increase in the number of travel near the place of residence and within the country, the spread of digitalization, the personalization of travel offers, travel planning with safety in mind and attention to the sanitary and epidemiological situation, an increase in ecotourism and excursion tourism, an increase in the number of car trips, as well as the reorientation of some tourists from hotels to short-term rental housing.Conclusion. From a futuristic perspective, the pandemic has greatly benefited the panorama of events unfolding before our eyes. The pandemic, speaking in futuristic terms, can be classified as a “black swan”. This is the social experiment on a global scale, which determines the emergence of new tourism trends, and also forms in the eyes of the public the special attitude towards Russian tourism as a truly important industry.

Smart tourism can provide high-quality and convenient services for different tourists, and tourism itinerary planning system can simplify tourists’ tourism preparation. In order to improve the limitation of the recommendation dimension of traditional travel planning system, this paper designs a mixed user interest model on the premise of traditional user interest modeling and combines various attributes of scenic spots to form personalized recommendation of scenic spots. Then, it uses heuristic travel planning cost-effective method to construct the corresponding travel planning system for travel planning. In terms of the accuracy rate of travel planning recommendation, the accuracy rate of multidimensional hybrid travel recommendation algorithm is 0.984, and the missing rate is 0. When the travel cost and travel time are the same and the number of scenic spots is 20–30, the memory occupation of MH algorithm is only 1/2 of that of TM algorithm. The results show that the multidimensional hybrid travel recommendation algorithm can improve the personalized travel planning of users and the travel time efficiency ratio. The results of this study have a certain reference value in improving user satisfaction with the travel planning system and reducing user interaction.

The key technology of online travel recommendation system has been widely concerned by many Internet experts. This paper studies and designs a scenario aware service model in online travel planning system and proposes an online travel planning recommendation model which integrates collaborative filtering and clustering personalized recommendation algorithm. At the same time, the algorithm performance test method and model evaluation index are given. The results show that CTTCF algorithm can find more neighbor users than UCF algorithm, and the smaller the search space is, the more significant the advantage is. The number of neighbors is 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25, respectively, and the corresponding average absolute error values are about 0.815, 0.785, 0.765, 0.758, and 0.755, respectively. The scores of the six emotional travel itinerary recommendation schemes are all higher than 142 points. Only the two schemes have no obvious rendering effect. The proposed online travel itinerary planning scheme has potential value and important significance in the application of follow-up recommendation system. It solves the problem of low scene perception satisfaction in the key technologies of online tourism planning system.

The development of social networks and universal digitalization have led to widespread changes in society and in all spheres of activity, including tourism. The growing popularity of information platforms containing content created by travelers has determined the vector of scientific research towards the dominant role of social networks at the stage of the travel planning process. The increased impact of social networks as the main source of tourist information determines the tourist location, place and type of residence. As a rule, the choice of potential tourists is determined by interesting stories, colorful landscapes, reviews, formed public opinion and other content broadcast on the network by users. The article defines the role of social networks (travel blogs, forums) in modern society. It is shown that social networks have replaced travel agents, GPS-numerous maps and guidebooks, and the Instagram feed – a photo album. The authors conclude that modern travel has completely moved to the digital environment and now it is almost impossible to imagine a trip without posts on social networks and an endless stream of recommendations in the comments. The article pays special attention to the role of Instagram in the modern development of tourism, including negative aspects that have a disastrous impact on the industry.

In the passenger transportation segment, there is a trend towards door-to-door travel planning. This direction, which is relevant in the world practice of passenger transportation, with a correctly proposed approach, can also be used in the cities of the Russian Federation. The use of a multimodal method of passenger transportation together with MaaS technologies in case of maximum involvement of carrier operators will allow passengers to significantly reduce travel time and find a way to reduce travel costs.Sophisticated logistics of commuter rail transport routes for all time periods will attract additional passenger traffic, increasing the profitability of passenger traffic. The conducted research on the example of the transport-interchange complex of the city of N showed the possibility of organizing a passenger's trip "from door to door" with minimal costs and maximum comfort. The passenger railway company receives direct profit from this service, which makes it possible to recoup the project in a short time. Conclusions are made about the dependence of the profitability of the bus fleet on the number of seats, distance and popularity of the route direction. The organization of additional services on the territory as close as possible to the places of embarkation and disembarkation of passengers will increase the attractiveness of the transport and interchange complex for the passenger traffic of N.
