Cultural heritage is an important factor in ensuring regional development. Practice has demonstrated that first sustainability of heritage sites needs to be ensured and tourism they generate should also be re-visited as current over-tourism models are unsustainable. The assumption is that cultural/creative industries (CCI) can be a powerful tool for heritage livability as well as for sustainable tourism based on experiences. In order to stimulate regional development, specific CCI measures are often introduced in public policies but results of policy interventions are rarely monitored. Their performance can be measured against the pre-set indicators. Research studies focusing on such indicators are scarce. This short communication provides a possible conceptual framework alongside concrete indicators for cultural/creative industries’ sector impact assessment on cultural heritage and sustainable experiential tourism on the policy as well as on the project level. Desk research and brainstorming methods were applied to design the indicator sets resulting in a tool which is to be further tested and used in practice.

The demand for a new concept of heritage, in which monuments and landscapes are considered active factors in creating a sense of history, is esteemed not only from a scientific and academic perspective, but as well as part of a more sensitive and efficient strategy to link cultural heritage and tourism, by bringing an integrative perspective to the forefront. Implementing such strategies is strictly correlated with the ability to support decision-makers and to increase people’s awareness towards a more comprehensive approach to heritage preservation. In the present work, a robust socioeconomic impact model is presented. Moreover, this work attempts to create an initial link between the economic impacts and natural hazards induced by the changes in the climatic conditions that cultural heritage sites face. The model’s novel socioeconomic impact analysis is the direct and indirect revenues related to the tourism use of a site, on which local economies are strongly correlated. The analysis indicated that cultural heritage sites provide a range of both market and non-market benefits to society. These benefits provide opportunities for policy interventions for the conservation of the cultural heritage sites and their promotion, but also to their protection against the impacts of climate change and natural disasters.

This paper deals with museums as a key part of cultural and creative industries and their role in social and economic development. Taking into account the role of museums in the past and the current trends, their contribution is considered to be crucial. Cultural and creative industries are an intersection of art, technology, cultural heritage, innovation, creativity and mental and manual labour. The purpose of this paper is to reflect links between museums, creativity, innovation and culture in the changing economy.

The article identifies the challenges of the creative industries in tourism as an important phenomenon in the conditions of the urgent world issue COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic has been identified as a real challenge for travel companies around the world causing significant changes in the strategies for creating creative programs for the tourism industry. The analysis has been made, the issues and possibilities of introducing creative industries in tourism in the conditions of the ecological danger of COVID-19 have been determined. It is emphasized that creative tourism, as a self-sufficient product, easily changes the format and subject matter depending on the set objectives, while remaining creative in its nature and purpose. The main stakeholders of creative tourism have been identified: consumers of tourist services, tourist industry representatives (tour operators and agents, hoteliers, restaurateurs, guides, tour guides), the tourist community, local people, and commodity producers, authorities, cultural, scientific, and educational institutions. Measures to support the sphere of culture, cultural heritage protection, development of creative industries and tourism in Ukraine have been analyzed: preservation, promotion, and effective use of national cultural heritage, creation of conditions for tourist attractiveness of cultural heritage sites, support of creative industries.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> The promotion of Cultural Heritage (CH) goods has become a major challenges over the last years. CH goods promote economic development, notably through cultural and creative industries and tourism. Thus, an effective planning of archaeological, cultural, artistic and architectural sites within the territory make CH goods easily accessible. A way of adding value to these services is making them capable of providing, using new technologies, a more immersive and stimulating fruition of information. In this light, an effective contribution can be provided by sentiment analysis. The sentiment related to a monument can be used for its evaluation considering that if it is positive, it influences its public image by increasing its value. This work introduces an approach to estimate the sentiment of Social Media pictures CH related. The sentiment of a picture is identified by an especially trained Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN); aftewards, we compared the performance of three DCNNs: VGG16, ResNet and InceptionResNet. It is interesting to observe how these three different architectures are able to correctly evaluate the sentiment of an image referred to a ancient monument, historical buildings, archaeological sites, museum objects, and more. Our approach has been applied to a newly collected dataset of pictures from Instagram, which shows CH goods included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage properties.</p>

How can digitised assets of Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums be reused to unlock new value? What are the implications of viewing large-scale cultural heritage data as an economic resource, to build new products and services upon? Drawing upon valuation studies, we reflect on both the theory and practicalities of using mass-digitised heritage content as an economic driver, stressing the need to consider the complexity of commercial-based outcomes within the context of cultural and creative industries. However, we also problematise the act of considering such heritage content as a resource to be exploited for economic growth, in order to inform how we consider, develop, deliver and value mass-digitisation. Our research will be of interest to those wishing to understand a rapidly changing research and innovation landscape, those considering how to engage memory institutions in data-driven activities and those critically evaluating years of mass-digitisation across the heritage sector.

Abstract. In the article the main sources of funding for cultural, tourism and creative industries in Ukraine were defined. The importance of building effective financial support for initiatives in this area was justified. The activities of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation as a state institution responsible for the preservation of cultural heritage and development of Ukrainian culture in the context of current world trends were also analyzed. It was determined that the amount of funds allocated to the sphere of culture occupies a larger share in the budgets of most EU countries, compared to Ukraine. The importance of creative industries as a tool to intensify tourism activities at the regional and national levels was revealed. It was proved that the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation is an institution designed to create a new model of competitive promotion and multi-vector support of initiatives in the field of culture and creative industries. In these industries professionals, institutions and communities — the main groups of beneficiaries — act as partners for generation. new meanings and preservation of cultural capital necessary for the dynamic development of society. The analysis of state strategic documents, in particular the S­­tate Strategy for Regional Development 2020, showed that the areas of probable common interests of tourism, culture and creative industries are quite clearly defined and relate to historical and cultural heritage, museums, historical and monumental arts, architecture, archeology; original folk culture, customs, traditions, rituals, including national minorities. The new state strategy for regional development — 2027 focuses on the role of national and regional cultural and tourist routes. Sectoral strategies and international programs operating in Ukraine provide a detailed description of the area of probable common interests of culture and tourism. It was proved that an effectively built state financial support for initiatives in the field of culture, tourism and creative industries promotes cooperation between government, business and civil society, creates favorable conditions for effective and efficient investment, ensuring transparent, effective dialogue between all stakeholders to achieve stable results in the creation of a cultural product, the development of civil society and the internationalization of Ukrainian culture. Identitas bangsa Indonesia sekarang ini menghadapi masalah serius akibat pengaruh globalisasi yang membawa perubahan besar dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan berbangsa, oleh karena itu perlu upaya berkesinambungan dalam membangun dan memperkuat jati diri bangsa Indonesia. Salah satu upaya dimulai dengan melindungi dan melestarikan keragaman nilai-nilai luhur tradisi beserta warisan budaya yang masih mencerminkan ciri khas Indonesia. Adanya kesadaran dunia tentang pentingnya pelestarian situs warisan budaya semakin meningkat dari waktu ke waktu, memberi peluang pentingnya pelaksanaan pelestarian guna memperkuat ketahanan budaya bangsa Indonesia. Salah satu upaya pelestarian tersebut adalah dengan mengusulkan warisan budaya berupa situs, kompleks bangunan, dan lanskap budaya yang tersebar di wilayah Indonesia dengan keunikannya masing-masing sebagai Warisan Dunia yang memiliki nilai universal. Situs Warisan Dunia adalah aset bangsa, maka setiap orang memiliki hak dan berkewajiban memahami, mengapresiasi, dan melestarikan nilai-nilai universal, nasional maupun lokal yang terkandung di dalamnya melalui mekanisme pengelolaan yang terpadu dan berkelanjutan. Kajian ini merupakan hasil dari desk research dengan analisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan pada studi pustaka dari referensi yang relevan. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan positif dalam pengelolaan dan pemafaatan warisan budaya adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan pariwisata berkelanjutan melalui konsep pariwisata budaya. Pariwisata disini dimungkinkan menjadi alat untuk mengemas upaya pelestarian kawasan situs Warisan Dunia menjadi daya tarik wisata budaya. Kajian ini menghasilkan sejumlah rekomendasi yang dapat diterapkan dalam mengembangkan pariwisata berkelanjutan di kawasan situs Warisan Dunia. Today, the identity of Indonesian people faces a severe problem due to the influence of globalization, which brings significant changes in various aspects of national life; therefore, it required continuous efforts to build and strengthen the identity of the Indonesian people. We can start by protecting and preserving the diversity of the traditional noble values and cultural heritage that still reflect Indonesian characteristics. The awareness of the world about the importance of preserving cultural heritage sites is increasing over time, providing an opportunity for the importance of implementing conservation to strengthen the resilience of Indonesian culture. One of the conservation efforts is to propose cultural heritage in the form of site, building complex, and cultural landscape that spread in the territory of Indonesia with their uniqueness as World Heritage that has universal values. World Heritage site is a national asset, so everyone has the right and obligation to understand, appreciate, and preserve the universal, national, and local values contained in it through an integrated and sustainable management mechanism. This study was the result of desk research with the analysis using a qualitative descriptive method based on literature studies from relevant references. The results of this study indicate that a positive approach in the management and utilization of the world heritage is by using a sustainable tourism approach through the cultural tourism concept. Here, tourism might be a tool to package the conservation efforts of the world heritage site to become a cultural tourist attraction. This study produced some recommendations that can apply to develop sustainable tourism in the World Heritage site.
