Human casualties caused by industrial accidents pose a serious threat to corporate management due to the continual strengthening of safety laws as well as changes in the public’s awareness of corporate social responsibility. Accordingly, companies are raising safety awareness among employees by regularly conducting on-site safety activities and training to prevent industrial accidents. However, the safety activities, education, and training of many companies are not carried out voluntarily or in practice by their employees, but mostly through formal implementation. To break away from these customary and passive behaviors and establish a mature safety culture, it is crucial to strengthen the execution capacity of safety management in the field; to this end, we plan to utilize the safety practice index (SPI). The safety practice index (SPI), which quantitatively represents the degree of safety practice, is necessary to increase the effectiveness of safety management for the purpose of preventing accidents. In this study, the correlation was verified by comparing the SPI calculated based on the 2018 and 2019 risk management and the safety activity results of manufacturer A with the reported safety accidents. It was also effective in improving the SPI and reducing safety accidents in 2020 by supplementing the weaknesses of the SPI in 2018 and 2019. According to the results of this study, SPI can be used as an effective indicator for safety accident prevention activities by supplementing weaknesses with strengths through strengthening leadership and safety policies, such as classifying and managing the safety management level of a specific period or department.

With the rapid development of construction industry progress, construction safety is paid more attention by more and more people. At present, construction safety has become the main problem which restricted the construction industrys development. It not only reflects construction enterprises management level, but also the economic efficiency of enterprises. Therefore, adopting prevention measures about construction industry is worth researching and discussing. This paper introduces the present situation of safety management in construction sites, then analyses the major safety management problems. Finally, it pertinently advances effective countermeasures on the basis of Safety First, Prevention First, Comprehensive Treatment to achieve the aim at reducing the construction safety accident rate to the greatest extent.

This article analyses the perception and application of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in a sample of 499 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city of Santa Marta (Colombia) following the theory of Stakeholders. Specifically, the interdependence technique of exploratory factor analysis was used to determine the most influential Stakeholders in the execution of CSR practices. It was found that Stakeholders related to the value chain, the environment and corporate management favour social responsibility actions in local MSMEs. In contrast, community and government have less influence on the development of social responsibility practices in MSMEs. Additionally, it was found that the size of the business acts as an important moderator of the development of the CSR. Given that there is a distinctive influence of Stakeholders in the development of responsible practices in the MSMEs of Santa Marta, it is suggested that comprehensive training programs on social responsibility be promoted in smaller companies.

The article considers the role of integration processes of the quality management system in the field of civil aviation. The process of effective implementation of IMS in the corporate environment is taken into consideration and substantiated. The analysis of ICAO-9859 Document is carried out and the need for the implementation of an integrated corporate management system in organizations operating in civil aviation is substantiated. The advantages of using integrated systems are substantiated. General and specific principles of the Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) are highlighted. The created system for the effective implementation of the IMS is considered using a specific example of applying the requirements of the “Safety Management Manual”.

AbstractWe present the guideline for use of [211At] sodium astatide (NaAt) for targeted alpha therapy in clinical trials on the basis of radiation safety issues in Japan. This guideline was prepared by a study supported by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, and approved by the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine on 8th Feb, 2021. The study showed that patients receiving [211At]NaAt do not need to be admitted to a radiotherapy room and outpatient treatment is possible. The radiation exposure from the patient is within the safety standards of the ICRP and IAEA recommendations for the general public and caregivers. Precautions for patients and their families, safety management associated with the use of [211At]NaAt, education and training, and disposal of medical radioactive contaminants are also included in this guideline. Treatment using [211At]NaAt in Japan should be carried out according to this guideline. Although this guideline is applied in Japan, the issues for radiation protection and evaluation methodology shown here are considered internationally useful as well.

BACKGROUND: Although using forklifts in industrial sites contributes to productivity, many workers have been injured or killed owing to industrial accidents caused by forklifts. OBJECTIVE: This study analyzed the characteristics of forklift accidents by employment type and work process, thereby identifying the factors contributing to industrial accidents and providing recommendations to prevent accidents. METHODS: Data on 1,061 industrial forklift accidents occurring in 2018 collected from the national injury insurance compensation database were analyzed. In addition to analyzing the accident characteristics, this study performed a risk assessment per forklift work process. RESULTS: Many accidents were associated with older workers, those employed for <  6 months, and workplaces with ≤49 workers. The risk was the highest for accidents involving caught-in objects in the loading/unloading step and collision accidents in the forward- and backward-driving steps. CONCLUSIONS: Measures are needed to prevent industrial forklift accidents. First, forklift and worker movement routes must be strictly separated or controlled by a work supervisor. It is necessary to secure a time margin for workers to avoid collapsing cargo by using an appropriate tool/jig during loading/unloading. Second, guidance, inspection, and support are needed to promote employers’ safety and health awareness in workplaces with <  50 workers. Lastly, intensive education and training concerning health and safety is required for workers with less than six months of experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic has drawn attention to aerosol-generating medical procedures (AGMPs) in health care environments as a potential mode of transmission. Many organizations and institutions have published AGMP safety guidelines, and several mention the use of simulation in informing their recommendations; however, current methods used to simulate aerosol generation are heterogenous. Creation of a high-fidelity, easily producible aerosol-generating cough simulator would meet a high-priority educational need across all medical specialties. In this communication, we describe the design, construction, and user study of a novel cough simulator, which demonstrates the utility of simulation in raising AGMP safety awareness for providers of all roles, specialties, and training levels.

In order to improve the automatic level of teaching management in experiment and training base, a teaching management system is designed and implemented. The teaching process such as checking on work attendance, logging on school reports and equipments’ management can be carried automatically. The efficiency and the management level can be increased, and the resource sharing can be realized. to meet this demand. The use of numerical control experiment and training management system will improve the level of teaching and management of our training base.

AbstractMusculoskeletal (MSK) radiologists are predominantly consultants in the service departments of health care. Unlike the manufacturing industry, quality controls are difficult to institute in a service industry and more variability is expected. Structured reporting is a unique way to institute quality standards, and by using the checklist approach with uniform terminology, it can lead to more homogeneity and consistency of reporting, concise lexicon use within and across practices, minimization of errors, enhancement of divisional and departmental branding, improvement of interdisciplinary communications, and future data mining. We share our experience from more than a decade of structured reporting in the domain of MSK radiology, our practice standards, and how reporting has evolved in our MSK practice. Further discussions include future directions aided by machine learning approaches with augmented reality and the possibility of virtual fellowship and training using consistent lexicons and structured reporting.
