The aim of research is to identify and assess the influence of working life quality on economic efficiency of labor.Methods. The system of indicators for the period from 2005 to 2015 is determined on the basis of the analysis of existing assessment methods of working life quality and on official statistics data, which reflects the main elements of working life quality. Therefore, the most significant indicators of working life elements in terms of labor efficiency are determined by means of correlation analysis.Results. The demonstrated problem confirms the fact that the main block of working life quality for industrial workers is not fully ensured and is deterrent to the growth of labor efficiency as a socio-economic category.Discussion and conclusions. The results of this research indicate the availability of reserves to improve labor efficiency through the usage of modern methods of production organization to ensure economic conditions of decent work of industrial workers.

The aim of this study was to explore the effect of work engagement, as an intermediary variable, on the relationship between self-efficacy, and job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment as individual indicators of quality of working life (QWL). A cross-sectional correlational design was utilized assessing a convenience sample of 321 nursing staff. All participants were employed in public hospitals and had more than five months of professional experience in the same hospital. Mediation analysis was performed using path analysis and bootstrapping confidence intervals (percentile-corrected). Work engagement partially mediated the relation between self-efficacy and job satisfaction, and fully mediated the relation between self-efficacy and affective organizational commitment. Self-efficacy seems to be an important predictor of QWL in nursing staff, although its effect is partially mediated (e.g., job satisfaction) or fully mediated (e.g., affective commitment) by work engagement.

Abstract Background Nurses have a vital role in the healthcare system. One of the basic steps to increase their happiness is to recognize factors such as job satisfaction and quality of working life. Therefore, the goal of the present study was to examine the relationship between happiness and quality of working life and job satisfaction among nursing personnel. Methods This descriptive study was carried out on 270 hospital nurses who worked in emergency departments in Iran. Nurses were recruited through the census method. Data collection instruments included the Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI), the Quality of Work Life Questionnaire (QWL), and the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (JSQ). Data were explored using descriptive statistics, and stepwise multiple linear regression analysis. Results The mean age of participants was 30.1 ± 6.26 years. The mean happiness score was 38.5 ± 16.22, the mean Quality of Working Life (QWL) score was 84.3 ± 17.62, and the mean job satisfaction score was found to be 45.5 ± 13.57); corresponding to moderate levels of attributes. The results obtained from the ordinary least-square (OLS) regression indicated that happiness significantly was associated with economic status and satisfaction with closure (R2: 0.38). Conclusion Overall the current study found that nurses who work in emergency departments did not feel happy. Additionally, the findings suggest that their happiness were associated with their economic status, and closure over their duties.
