At present, the wide application of the CNN (convolutional neural network) algorithm has greatly improved the intelligence level of agricultural machinery. Accurate and real-time detection for outdoor conditions is necessary for realizing intelligence and automation of corn harvesting. In view of the problems with existing detection methods for judging the integrity of corn kernels, such as low accuracy, poor reliability, and difficulty in adapting to the complicated and changeable harvesting environment, this paper investigates a broken corn kernel detection device for combine harvesters by using the yolov4-tiny model. Hardware construction is first designed to acquire continuous images and processing of corn kernels without overlap. Based on the images collected, the yolov4-tiny model is then utilized for training recognition of the intact and broken corn kernels samples. Next, a broken corn kernel detection algorithm is developed. Finally, the experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the broken corn kernel detection device. The laboratory results show that the accuracy of the yolov4-tiny model is 93.5% for intact kernels and 93.0% for broken kernels, and the value of precision, recall, and F1 score are 92.8%, 93.5%, and 93.11%, respectively. The field experiment results show that the broken kernel rate obtained by the designed detection device are in good agreement with that obtained by the manually calculated statistic, with differentials at only 0.8%. This study provides a technical reference of a real-time method for detecting a broken corn kernel rate.

The article presents the results of an analysis of the standards for agricultural machinery requirements for various periods of their operation in the country’s agro-industrial complex. The studies were conducted using economic and statistical methods and techniques. In the reference materials, basically, agrotechnical terms (time periods) for the performance of basic agricultural work are presented, which correspond to the reference standards for agricultural machinery requirements. It has been established that the availability of agricultural machinery per 1000 hectares of arable land (crops) currently makes up no more than 30% of the normative, and this, first of all, affects the increase in the duration of work, that is, on the agro-technical terms, as well as on the shift of calendar terms of production. Recommendations are given on carrying out agricultural work in an acceptable agrotechnical timeframe with the following provision of agricultural production per 1000 ha: tractors – 5.42 standard units, combine harvesters – 2.67 standard units, forage harvesters – 2.22 standard units.

The problem of updating the fleet of agricultural machinery and introducing technologies into agricultural production is acute. In the current foreign policy and economic conditions, the issue of ensuring food security has become extremely important, in connection with which there is an urgent need to increase the efficiency of agricultural production in a short time. In such a situation, the most effective way is to intensify production, and in this process, machinery and equipment play a primary role. The study found that in the Russian Federation in the period 2015-2020. There was a reduction in the fleet of agricultural machinery, which caused an increase in the load on the existing fleet of tractors and combine harvesters. The rates of renewal of agricultural machinery concerning tractors and combine harvesters have decreased, which, together with other conditions, negatively characterizes the situation with the renewal of the fleet of machinery in agricultural production. In the context of ensuring the implementation of the policy of import substitution and ensuring food security, the state should provide greater support to agricultural producers when updating the fleet of equipment, since in the context of the weakening of the ruble, the deterioration of the national economic system, the falling purchasing power of the population and other factors, agricultural producers will not be able to independently master additional the financial burden, and the renewal of the material and technical base, especially when it comes to the supply of imported equipment, is an expensive issue.

Guidelines for the repair and adjustment of forage harvesters KPU-75, KPI-2,4, KIK-3000 "Polesie", KSS-2,6A-1, KSS-1,8 are intended for farmers, machine operators and specialists engaged in technical service and operation of agricultural machinery in farms and repair and maintenance enterprises. When developing recommendations, we used the documentation of manufacturers, materials of the Federal state budgetary institution VIM (GOSNITI) and advanced experience in repairing forage harvesting equipment. The fi rst part of the recommendations contains the main requirements that ensure the performance of forage harvesters, as well as safety measures for their repair. The second part of the recommendations provides instructions on how to prepare forage harvesters for operation.

The development of scientific and technological progress is currently in the direction of the introduction of electronic control systems that can help a human being in everyday affairs that does not require special creativity, for example, in unmanned driving, in aviation - the inclusion of an autopilot. The same happens in agricultural machinery. So in the modern harvester uses a system of precision agriculture, however, has reached the introduction of electronic systems that would regulate the optimum process flow of the operations, to take account of changing agricultural conditions on the field. Everything necessary for this purpose in combine harvesters is, it is electric and hydraulic drives that regulate the speed of the combine, the speed of rotation of the reel, the speed of rotation of the threshing unit, the speed of the fan, the amount of opening of the blinds, etc. However, now the combine operator sets it all manually. In the DSTU for several years as a program for on-Board computer (BC) and received a Patent for the invention, allowing to start the implementation of the process setup of the combine in automatic mode, but often the developer is easier to buy something abroad than to design and implement.

Over the years of results-based management, the agricultural sector of Russia has enhanced a signifi cant increase in production volumes. Special results have been achieved in crop production, primarily in the production of grain crops. This was urgent in terms of meeting the needs of the domestic market and increasing the volume of supplies to foreign markets. Despite a number of positive results achieved in agriculture through the implementation of targeted programs, especially during the period of counter-Russian sanctions and the ongoing policy of import substitution, the problem of providing the industry with means of production has not been fully solved. This hinders the implementation of Russia’s export capacity. To further increase the volume of agricultural production, the technical re-equipment of the industry is required, which will increase the effi ciency of production. To this end, it is necessary to critically evaluate the implementation of targeted programs used to solve the problem of technical re-equipment. This indicates the relevance of the research topic. The study was conducted on the basis of a systematic approach (monographic, economic and statistical methods, the method of deduction) with the use of relevant materials of offi cial statistics. During the implementation of targeted programs, the pace of technical re-equipment of agriculture was extremely low, accompanied by a considerable share of obsolete imported agricultural machinery, tractors and combine harvesters, and decresing energy supply of the industry. Insuffi cient provision of agriculture with means of production constrains the growth rate of labor productivity. The targets set in the State Program for the renewal of agricultural machinery are low and have been exceeded for several previous years, and they do not indicate a high rate of technical re-equipment of agriculture. The study results serve as a basis for adjusting the current mechanism of results-based management of agricultural development.

Abstract Technical support of producers of agrarian products has always been and will remain a topical issue in realities of agrarian sector of Ukraine. In recent years, integrated forms of agricultural enterprises have become more widespread, which make it possible to increase and renew a machine-tractor park of their participants. In course of study four main technologies of soil cultivation and their impact were considered, an amount of necessary machinery and equipment, energy and labor costs, and impact on quality indicators of soil health. Also, main organizational forms of enterprises that provide equipment rental services or perform fieldwork were analyzed. Proposals were made regarding a merger of existing enterprises into agro technical centers, which would increase an efficiency of their functioning and cover functions of regional self-government. Also, the most common forms of machinery usage by agricultural enterprises were considered.
