The objective of the present study was to carry out a literature review on “self-care” or, in English, “Over-the-counter” (OTC) bleaching products, consulting articles in the Pubmed and Scielo databases, between the years 2000 and 2019, in order to evaluate its characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of use. We can conclude that the majority of whitening dentifrices and rinses on the market do not have a clinically significant whitening action; in relation to dental strips or strips, they have satisfactory whitening efficacy. However, it is important to emphasize the need for further long-term studies to affirm whether these products are really safe and efficient, since their advantages and disadvantages become doubtful and questionable. Therefore, guidance and monitoring by the dental surgeon in the handling and prescription of such products is extremely important, after all, if used in an indiscriminate and erroneous way, they can cause potentially harmful data to the patient.

AbstractThe objective of this work was to analyze scientific evidence from a literature review pertaining to the effectiveness of resinous infiltrants for minimally invasive treatment of incipient carious lesions. Studies published between 2002 and 2019 were queried from the following databases: Capes, PubMed, Medline, BBO, Lilacs and SciELO. The search keywords included "Dental Caries", "Tooth Remineralization", "Dental Leakage". Most of the studies found resin-infiltrating treatment to be a viable option for the minimally invasive treatment of incipient carious lesions; this treatment was able to fulfill the primary expected effects: inhibition of carious progression and the lesions esthetic improvement. However, some issues need to be clarified to improve the safety of this treatment because it can be recommended in clinical practice. In conclusion, the use of resinous infiltrants has been reported as promising for the treatment of incipient carious lesions. However, there is a need for long-term studies to confirm the effectiveness of this treatment to determine its applicability for clinical use. Keywords: Dental Caries. Dental Leakage. Tooth Remineralization.

In order to the great aesthetic appeal for white teeth today, whitening has become very popular and affordable on the market. In the current days, there are many whitening products available in pharmacies, groceries and convenience stores. These products are called “over the counter” or OTC products. They are sold as cosmetics with non-prescription. The objective of this study is to review the literature articles surveyed in BVS, Scielo , Medline databases following the Descritores em Ciências da Saúde ( DeCS ) with emphasis on recent bleaching techniques introduced to the market as well as its indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages. OTC products do not have commercial regulation which hinders the supervision of tooth whitening by a dentist. These contain different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide which can bring consequences such as tooth sensitivity and gum when used without indication and supervision.

The active introduction of innovative technologies, namely 3D printing in dentistry, is of great interest from dentists of various specialties. The use of virtual modeling and printing is actively implemented not only in the work of dental technicians, but also dental surgeons, orthopedists, orthodontists, and doctors of other specialties. Modern technologies allow you to print a surgical template for more accurate and predictable implant placement, plan dental interventions and see the result even before the start of treatment, transfer a prototype of future structures using temporary materials. The article is devoted to the possibility of using a 3D printer for the manufacture of long-wearing crowns. The application of new technologies in dentistry is considered using the example of 3D printing. Possibilities of this technology and the specifics of working with it. Objective: to assess the possibilities of clinical application of long-term wearing crowns made by 3D printing. Methodology. Based on the literature review, and the use of scientific search bibliographic databases: PubMed, eLibrary, Medline, Google Academy, the availability and prevalence of 3D printing technology in dentistry was determined, and in particular its application for printing long-term crowns. Clinical fabrication of long-term crowns was carried out. Conclusions. The emergence of innovative technologies in dentistry, in particular 3D printing, and new materials, are currently attracting active interest from the dental community. 3D modeling and printing are becoming more and more confident in our daily life every day. A thorough study of this method is undoubtedly promising, but it requires deep immersion in the problem, clinical and laboratory observations of structures made of materials for long-term wear.

SummaryBackground: Compression stockings are widely used in patients with varicose veins. Methods: Based on published literature three main points are discussed: 1. the rationale of compression therapy in primary varicose veins, 2. the prescription of compression stockings in daily practice, 3. studies required in the future. Results: The main objective of prescribing compression stockings for patients with varicose veins is to improve subjective leg complaints and to prevent swelling after sitting and standing. No convincing data are available concerning prevention of progression or of complications. In daily practice varicose veins are the most common indication to prescribe compression stockings. The compliance depends on the severity of the disorder and is rather poor in less severe stages. Long-term studies are needed to proof the cost-effectiveness of compression stockings concerning subjective symptoms and objective signs of varicose veins adjusted to their clinical severity. Conclusion: Compression stockings in primary varicose veins are able to improve leg complaints and to prevent swelling.

Abstract Distance learning and e-learning have significantly developed in recent years. It is also due to changing educational requirements, especially for adults. The article aims to show the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. Examples of the 20-year use of the distance learning form of computer science describe the difficulties associated with the implementation and implementation of this form of teaching. The results of students in the full-time and distance form of teaching in the bachelor’s study of computer science are compared. Long-term findings show that distant students have significantly lower scores in the first years of study than full-time bachelor students. In the following years of study, the differences diminish, and students’ results are comparable. The article describes the possibilities of improving the quality of distance learning.

Abstract Tourist services represent a category of services in which the inseparability of production and consumption, the inability to be storable, the immateriality, and last but not least non-durability, induces in tourism management a number of peculiarities and difficulties. Under these circumstances the development of medium-term strategies involves long-term studies regarding on the one hand the developments and characteristics of the demand, and on the other hand the tourist potential analysis at regional and local level. Although in the past 20 years there has been tremendous growth of on-line booking made by household users, the tour operators agencies as well as those with sales activity continue to offer the specific services for a large number of tourists, that number, in the case of domestic tourism, increased by 1.6 times in case of the tour operators and by 4.44 times in case of the agencies with sales activity. At the same time, there have been changes in the preferences of tourists regarding their holiday destinations in Romania. Started on these considerations, paper based on a logistic model, examines the evolution of the probabilities and scores corresponding to the way the Romanian tourists spend their holidays on the types of tourism agencies, actions and tourist areas in Romania.
