Background: Some experts assert there is an association between traumatic brain injury and cognitive impairments such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and depressive disorder. Furthermore, children and adults with ADHD struggle with focusing, organizing tasks, and feeling restless. They might experience sadness, guilt, irritability, low self-confidence and helplessness. In this regard, ADHD and depressive disorder occasionally occur together. We aimed to compare the clinical application of the Bender-Gestalt test (BGT) and electroencephalography in screening brain damage in the patients with the mentioned disorders. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study to assess diagnostic accuracy. Eighty patients with depression (n=35) and ADHD (n=45) resulting from brain damage aged 10-35 years who had been referred by the psychologist or psychiatrist to Imam Hossein Clinic in Yazd. Both the BGT and quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) results existed in their files. Patients with any serious medical, other psychiatric disorders or history of drug dependency were excluded. Paired t test was used to analyze the differences. Results: The brain damage score was different in the two tests. Based on the paired t test, the BGT was a more valid screening test. Also, the score of the two tests were different in the depression and ADHD mean scores (P<0.05). Conclusion: BGT was a more reliable tool compared to QEEG for diagnosing brain damage within the patients with the mentioned disorders.

Latar Belakang: Prevalensi rinosinusitis kronik (RSK) jamur saat ini cenderung meningkat. Jamurberperan sebagai mikroorganisme dan merupakan salah satu penyebab RSK. Pemeriksaan immunoglobulinE (IgE) Aspergillus fumigatus (Af) digunakan untuk menegakkan diagnosis rinosinusitis jamur tanpa harusmelalui tindakan invasif. Perubahan rasio neutrofil/eosinofil (RNE) digunakan untuk memahami responinflamasinya. Tujuan: Mengetahui korelasi antara kadar IgE Af terhadap perubahan RNE mukosa dandarah pada penderita RSK jamur. Metode: Penelitian cross sectional, melibatkan 13 subjek penelitiandengan pengambilan darah dan mukosa sinus maksila untuk diidentifikasi Af dengan Polymerase ChainReaction (PCR), dilanjutkan ELISA untuk mengukur kadar IgE Af serta flowcytometry untuk mengukurkadar neutrofil dan eosinofil mukosa sinus maksila dan darah. Hasil: Rerata IgE Af mukosa 1,112±0,883kU/mL, darah 1,041±0,876 kU/mL (N<0,35 kU/L). Dengan uji T berpasangan didapatkan kesesuaian antarakadar IgE Af darah dan mukosa (p=0,852). Rerata eosinofil mukosa 3,9±1,92% (N:0,3-0,7%) dan darah4,88±2,02% (N:3-9%). Rerata neutrofil mukosa 4,28±2,04 (N:1,1-1,7%) dan darah 49,41±13,98% (N:55,8-59,6%). Rerata RNE mukosa 1,77±2,28 (N:2,8). Rerata RNE darah 12,12 ± 6,25 (N:9,6). Didapatkan93,3% mukosa subjek penelitian mengalami inflamasi eosinofilik, 53,3% mengalami inflamasi eosinofilikpada darah. Dengan uji T berpasangan terdapat ketidaksesuaian RNE mukosa dengan darah (p:0,000).Tes korelasi Pearson antara IgE Af dengan RNE mukosa, tidak terdapat korelasi bermakna (p:0,523) danantara IgE Af dengan RNE darah, tidak terdapat korelasi bermakna (p:0,607). Kesimpulan: Terdapatkesesuaian antara kadar IgE Af mukosa dan darah, tetapi tidak terdapat kesesuaian antara RNE mukosadan darah. Tidak terdapat korelasi antara peningkatan kadar IgE Af dengan RNE pada mukosa dan darah.  ABSTRACTBackground: The prevalence of chronic fungal rhinosinusitis (CFR) nowadays tends to increase.Fungi act as microorganisms and is one of the causes of chronic rhinosinusitis. The examination ofimmunoglobulin E (IgE) Aspergillus fumigatus (Af) is applied to establish the diagnosis of CFR withouthaving to do invasive actions. Neutrophil/eosinophil ratio (NER) changes are used to understand theinflammatory response. Purpose: To determine the correlation between IgE Af levels on changes ofmucosal and blood NER in CFR patients. Method: A cross-sectional study, involving 13 subjects bytaking sample of the blood and maxillary sinus mucosa to identify Af with Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR), followed by ELISA to measure the levels of IgE Af, and flowcytometry to measure the levels ofneutrophils and eosinophils of the blood and mucosa of maxillary sinuses. Results: The mean IgE ofmucosa: 1.112±0.883kU/mL, and of blood: 1.041± 0.876kU/mL (N<0.35kU/L). With paired T-test,there was a match between blood and mucosal IgE level (p=0.852). The mean eosinophil of mucosa:3.9±1.92%,(N:0.3-0.7%) and of blood 4.88±2.02% (N:3-9%). The mean neutrophil of mucosa:4.28±2.04%(N:1.1-1.7%) and of blood 49.41± 13.98%(N:55.8-59.6%). The mean NER of mucosa:1.77±2.28(N:2.8), and of blood: 12.12±6.25(N:9.6). It was revealed that 93.3% of mucosal subjects hadeosinophilic inflammation, 53.3% had eosinophilic inflammation in blood. With paired T-test there wasa mucosal NER mismatch with blood (p:0.000). The Pearson correlation-test between IgE Af and NERmucosa had no significant correlation (p:0.523), and between IgE Af with NER of blood there was no significant correlation (p:0.607). Conclusion: There was a correspondence between IgE Af of mucosaand blood levels, but there was no match between the mucosal and blood NERs. There was no correlationbetween elevated levels of IgE Af and NER in the mucosa and blood.

Background: The feedback from PG students will address the issues in organization of the workshop if any, which may be helpful for the continual improvement. The objectives of the study were to analyze the feedback of postgraduate students about every session of workshop; to analyze the feedback of postgraduate students about overall program of workshop; to assess the change in the knowledge of the participants with the help of pretest and posttest scores.Methods: The present cross sectional study was carried out in the month of August 2018. The three days research methodology workshop was conducted at Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College, Yavatmal during 7th to 9th August 2018 for the 44 postgraduate students. The pretest questionnaire, posttest questionnaire, daily feedback form and program evaluation form were given to each participant. The analysis of pretest and posttest was done by paired t test with statistical software Epi Info Version 7.Results: Total 44 postgraduate students gave feedback on each day. The maximum score (1108) was given by participants to experimental study design and lowest score (942) was given to third group activity based on literature search. For the question about the scope for betterment in the workshop, we had developed three themes based on the responses of participants by using content analysis. Paired ‘t’ test showed significant difference between pre and post-test (p<0.001).Conclusions: The students gave constructive feedback on improvement of the sessions on literature search and Mendeley.

Penelitian ini termasuk dalam cross sectional study dengan menggunakan desain deskriptif komparatif. Pengambilan sample dilakukan dengan teknik accidental sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa D3 Keperawatan FIKES UMM semester VI, sedangkan sample dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa D3 Keperawatan yang mengikuti program praktek pembangunan kesehatan masyarakat sekolah (PKMS) baik sebanyak 69 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan sejak bulan Desember 2009-Mei 2010. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini adalah menggunakan kuesioner soal pre test dan post test yang masing-masing berisi 10 item pertanyaan yang sama. Untuk mengetahui efektivitas pelaksanaan program ini terhadap peningkatan pengatahuan mahasiswa dapat dibandingkan skor pada pre test dengan post test kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan (paired t test). Hasil uji statistik didapatkan nilai p = 0,00 (p < á), sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretes dengan posttest. This is a cross sectional study using a comparative descriptive design. Sampling is done by accidental sampling technique. The population were the Nursing Diploma’s students of University of Muhammadiyah Malang, while the samples were 69 students. Research conducted since December 2009-May 2010. The instrument used in this research is pretest and post test quesstionnaire. To examine the effectiveness of this program related with increasing of the students’s knowledge, can be analyzed using paired t test (paired t test). Background: Didactic lectures are one of the most widely used teaching methods in Indian MedicalColleges. An integrated approach can make medical teaching more interesting and skill-oriented tothe faculty as well as students. Aim & Objective: To evaluate integrated teaching in medicaleducation assessing existing knowledge of medical students' inappropriate breastfeeding practices.Methodology: This was an observational cross-sectional study. Participants were second phasemedical students. The sharing method of integrated teaching was used involving the Department ofAnatomy, Physiology, and Pediatrics. Students were evaluated for their knowledge on the topicbefore and after the integrated teaching session through a predesigned pre-validated MCQs basedquestionnaire. Feedback of students was taken on Likert’s scale. The analysis was done using aStudent paired t-test. Results: A total of 63 students were assessed for the topic with pretest andpost-test. Student Paired t-test showed extremely statistically significant two-tailed P-value (<0.0001). 76% (n= 48) of students were strongly agreed with such integrated teaching sessions.55.5% (n=35) strongly felt its usefulness and 95% (n=60) agreed about the conduction of suchmore sessions in the future too. Conclusion: Statistically significant absolute learning gain wasobserved for integrated teaching. Integrated teaching has been appreciated and accepted byundergraduate medical students to improve their learning.

Objectives: The study aims to explore the prevalence of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and to examine the associated factors with ADHD among primary students by Vanderbilt ADHD rating scale for teacher and parents. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was conducted in 564 students who selected randomly in 4 primary schools in Hue city. Vanderbilt ADHD rating scale for parents and teachers were applied to evaluate the ADHD of children over 6 months ago. Results: The overall prevalence of children who had high risk with ADHD was 4.1% (95%CI: 2.44 - 5.72), including 4.6% and 4.8% in the rating of teachers and parents, respectively. Male was more likely to have ADHD than female (OR adj: 4.64 (95%CI: 1.53 - 14.05) and lack of closely friend (OR adj: 5.11 (95% CI: 2.13 - 12.24). Conclusion: Vanderbilt ADHD diagnosis rating scale for teachers and parents can be used to early recognization children with a high risk of ADHD.
