<span>This paper presents a study on parent’s acceptance on wearable technology for children’s safety. Recently, there are many applications of wearable technology used in ensuring children’s safety, such as GPS tracking devices that are seen to be related to the safety of the children. However, the Malaysian parents have not been using these technologies to protect their children due to lack of knowledge on the wearable technology, non-familiarity with the devices, privacy and also security concern of data in wearable technology. Thus, the objective of the present research is to identify the significant factors that influence parents’ acceptance on wearable technology for their children’s safety and to identify the greatest influence factors for the acceptance of these wearable technologies for children’s safety. These factors are expected to bring about usefulness, ease of use, trust, privacy risk, financial risk and intention to use these technologies. As such, quantitative survey method was employed in the present study to obtain the result for the factors acceptance. The analysis and findings were done using IBM SPSS Version 25 tools via Pearson Correlation Analysis and Multiple Linear Regressions to get the result for the acceptance and to achieve the research objectives. Based on the result, it is discovered that the factors significant to intention to use of the wearable technology are perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and trust while privacy and financial risk are factors seen to be non-significant to intention to use the wearable technology. Lastly, trust is discovered to be the greatest factor influencing parents to accept wearable technology and intention to use the technology. However, it is recommended for further study to employ experimental method in carrying out the research in order to get the real trust feeling of intention to use the wearable technology.</span>

As one of the biggest technology breakthrough, Internet of Things (IoT) has been gaining much attention in every industry it’s involved in. Especially in the healthcare sector, IoT health devices have been proved to have a great impact on individual’s health regulation. Through many beneficial features from tracking sleep patterns to tracking chemicals in the blood, individuals will gain a better understanding of their body and how to keep it healthy. However, great benefit is one thing, and it does not immediately equal users’ acceptance. In this study, we seek to find elements that we propose to have an impact in predicting user’s intention of using IoT health device and integrate them into a model. We will analyze user’s technology acceptance from the perspective of Technology Acceptance Model, using Perceived Usefulness as the main predictor for Behavioral Intention. We also integrate Personality Traits and Facilitated Appropriation as factors to determine Perceived Usefulness, and finally using Hofstede’s Cultural Value, we seek to determine the antecedent of Facilitated Appropriation. The research design was correlational predictive, with path analysis technique. Participants of this study were 186 college students from IT campus (75 males, 111 females; mean of age = 20.86 years of old, standard deviation of age = 2.01 years) across Greater Jakarta. The results showed that Perceived Usefulness can predict intention to use the device. However, Personality Traits were found to be irrelevant in predicting perceived usefulness. Only Facilitated Appropriation could predict perceived usefulness. Among cultural values proposed, only the Long-term Orientation can predict user’s tendency to engage in Facilitated Appropriation. Also, we did not find any correlation between age and all technology acceptance factors (Behavioral Intention, Perceived Usefulness, and Facilitated Appropriation).

AbstractThis paper reports an embedded single case study from a globally operating manufacturer for digital healthcare products. Based on nine semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and a diary study among employees, we were able to gain insights on the daily business routines and interactions of the design team, the UX research team, and the product management department. The results revealed several unexpected insights that indicate a practical mismatch between user-centred design processes learned from the textbook and design practice in the healthcare sector that warrant further research.

Despite the growing popularity of social media internationally, an extant review of the literature revealed a low rate of social media usage among healthcare professionals. While cynicism amongst healthcare professionals might be a reason, there might be other factors that could explain healthcare professionals’ reluctance to use social media in their practices. This research investigated potential barriers that affected healthcare professionals’ behavioural intention to use social media. A cross-sectional survey was randomly administered to 824 healthcare professionals working in Australian healthcare organisations. At the end of data collection, 219 usable responses were collected. Analysis of data via structural equation model (SEM) found that perceived trust, privacy threats, professional boundary, facilitating conditions and self-efficacy significantly influence the notion of perceived usefulness and ease of use. In addition, information quality directly influences health professionals’ perceived ease of utilising social media technology. The result also indicated that gender moderates the relationship between barrier-related factors and perceived usefulness and ease of use. This study’s findings have important implications for healthcare providers and policymakers regarding medical professionals’ perceptions of the potential challenges in using social media as well as developing strategies to counter misinformation against the backdrop of COVID-19.

This study aims to identify the current level of e-wallet adoption among the youths in Malaysia and to examine the factors that drive them to get adapted to the ongoing implementation and development of e-wallet in Malaysia. This study extended the TAM model with perceived security and social influence factors for assessing the attitude among the Malaysian youths towards e-wallet adoption. 200 sets of questionnaires had been gathered from the Malaysian youths, Quantitative data analysis was performed via SPSS and Smart-PLS 3.0 program. The results indicate that perceived security, perceived ease-of-use, and social influence were the significant factors that influence or predict the intention of using e-wallets but leaving the perceived usefulness as an insignificant predictor towards the e-wallet adoption among the Malaysian youths.


The aim of this study is to predict the perspective of the end-user's resistance for using HRIS application in the context of public healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia. It attempts to open the black box of dispositional resistance to change (DRTC) by conceptualizing it as a dimension set. Furthermore, this study will incorporate the moderating effect of conscientiousness from big five factors of personality traits. Which will provide a better explanation about the influence of DRTC, and an accurate weight of effects caused by the end-user differences. The results were obtained using the survey method, involving 373 responses. The structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. The result showed that routine seeking influenced both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, and that both of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness significantly predicted behavioural intention, also that Conscientiousness moderate the relationship between behavioural intention and user resistance behaviour. Theoretically, the study suggests that end user’s resistance could be investigated and understood via various theories in a single model. The findings suggest that managers and system developers need to engage the end-users in developing HRIS in the public healthcare sector.

Purpose Several countries have been using internet of things (IoT) devices in the healthcare sector to combat COVID-19. Therefore, this study aims to examine the doctors’ intentions to use IoT healthcare devices in Iraq during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach This study proposed a model based on the integration of the innovation diffusion theory (IDT). This included compatibility, trialability and image and a set of exogenous factors such as computer self-efficacy, privacy and cost into the technology acceptance model comprising perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and behavioral intention to use. Findings The findings revealed that compatibility and image of the IDT factors, have a significant impact on the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and behavioral intention, but trialability has a significant impact on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and insignificant impact on behavioral intention. Additionally, external factors such as privacy and cost significantly impacted doctors’ behavioral intention to use. Moreover, doctors’ computer self-efficacy significantly influenced the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and behavioral intention to use. Furthermore, perceived ease of use has a significant impact on perceived usefulness and attitude, perceived usefulness has a significant impact on attitude, which, in turn, significantly impacting doctors' behavior toward an intention to use. Research limitations/implications The limitations of the present study are the retractions of the number of participants and the lack of qualitative methods. Originality/value The finding of this study could benefit researchers, doctors and policymakers in the adaption of IoT technologies in the health sectors, especially in developing counties.

Objective: The current study is to understand the opportunities for and challenges faced by digital healthcare sector. The aim of the study is to suggest measures for securing data and information collected by the sector plus have safer online transactions. Design and Setting: The secondary data was collected from reliable sources. The primary data was collected online. The quantitative and qualitative analysis was done on data. The data was statistically analysed for this research article. Results: Even though healthcare sector has spent on digital health and cybersecurity but still the number of cybercrime cases have increased. An attempt is made to understand the factors that can influence the number of cybercrime cases. Conclusion: The healthcare sector has opportunities in the digital healthcare field in the current pandemic situation. At the same time, it has challenges to reduce the cybercrime cases as hackers are stealing confidential data and to take stringent measures to reduce the same.

In modern conditions, the digitalization of the healthcare sector has increased the pace of development. This is due to the peculiarities of the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to solve issues related to public health more quickly than in the pre-pandemic era. Today, digital healthcare platforms for diagnosis and monitoring of treatment, patient adherence and tracking of medicinal products are new scientific fields. However, innovative technologies and digital solutions are currently not available to all residents of our country, this is due to the ability to access the Internet, the provision of potential patients with PCs and phones with access to the Global Network. Nevertheless, the introduction of these technologies even in the most remote corners of various countries of the world is necessary, since the constant wave-like development of morbidity indicates a long-term prognosis of the spread of coronavirus infection. Accordingly, people must learn to live and fight this disease, and information technologies in the field of medicine can help them in this. The purpose of the work is to consider innovations in the management system of the process of taking medicines by patients based on digitalization.
