The paper presents a mathematical model for predicting the mechanical properties of hot rolled strips. The realization of this mathematical model relied on statistical measurements of the mechanical properties (Rm, Rp0,2 and A5) for the laminated strip in the LBC rolling mill from the Liberty Steel Galati steel plant. To achieve this mathematical model, there has been used the active experiment method.By means of this mathematical model, significant time and material savings can be made in the process of testing the mechanical properties for hot rolled tape.

The paper presents the elaboration of a mathematical model of the cold strip rolling process combined with the recrystallization annealing after the rolling at LBR Liberty Galati. The elaborated mathematical model allows the prediction of the mechanical properties of cold rolled strips subsequently subjected to a heat treatment. The realization of this mathematical model was based on statistical measurements of the mechanical properties Rm, Rp0.2 (Rc) and A5 for the rolled steel strip DC01 from Liberty Steel Galati. To achieve this mathematical model, the active experiment method was used. With the help of this mathematical model, it is possible to optimize the rolling process by significant savings of time and materials in the process of testing the mechanical properties for cold rolled tape, but also by choosing the most appropriate process parameters.

This article describes a technique for modeling of wood polymer-sandy composite. Interface input form of initial data for modeling; differential equations underlying the mathematical model are presented. To solve the system of differential and algebraic equations computer program "Program to simulate the struc-ture and mechanical properties of wood polymer-sandy composite" is developed. The program, developed in the environment of Borland Delphi 7.0, programming language Object Pascal, is intended for modeling the mechanical behavior of wood polymer-sandy composite of given composition.

In the present paper, thermomechanical controlled processing (TMCP) of low carbon cold heading steel was conducted by a laboratory hot rolling mill. The results have shown that the mechanical properties of the low carbon cold heading steel can be significantly improved by TMCP without heat treatment. The enhancement of the mechanical properties for the low carbon cold heading steel is attributed mainly to the finer ferrite grain size, and it is also related to the remaining dislocations within substructure of the cold heading steel after deformation. A technology is developed for producing hot rolled product of cold heading steel with improved mechanical properties. The technology has great significance because processing flow is simplified, and manufacture cost is decreased.

A technique is proposed for forecasting water saturation of fill and undisturbed grounds used in construction when making a foundation. Dependencies are established between the content of individual granulometric fractions of grounds and their physico-mechanical properties. Reliable regression equations are obtained, which formed the basis of a mathematical model for predicting the water saturation of grounds. A software product has been developed, the work of which was tested using the example of the basic hydro-physical characteristics of the grounds differing in their properties (black earth and salt earth). The results obtained reliably prove the possibility of using the model and software product in a wide range of granulometric composition values and physical and mechanical properties of grounds.

For Inconel 625, where the γ” and δ phases precipitate, the influence of prior hot rolling on the process is not well covered. The influence of segregation bands and prior hot rolling on the precipitation of secondary phases during aging at 750 °C for different times was investigated. Prior hot-rolling was conducted on a hot rolling mill at 1050 °C and 1150 °C with three different deformation levels. The hot rolled samples were aged at 750 °C for 1, 5, 25 and 125 h. The γ″ precipitated in both the deformed and recrystallized grains in the segregation bands containing a high concentration of niobium and molybdenum and a lower concentration of nickel, chromium and iron. The opposite was observed between the segregation bands where no γ″ precipitate was found. There was a smooth transition in the density and the size of the γ″ particles in the deformed grains at the border of the segregation bands, while a more complex transition occurred in the recrystallized grains. This occurred in the area where the average niobium concentration decreased from 4.5 to 2.7 wt. %, which influenced the mechanical properties.
