Road Safety is the most crucial aspect in this modern world as the reckless use of the developed technology i.e. vehicles, is leading to human loss. Safety concerns while driving is of utmost importance in our daily lives. It might lead to the loss of lives of even innocent people and loss of property. The evolution of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the continuing increase in the number of sensors connected to the Internet has led to development of various application in our day to day life. Thus, automation in road safety using IoT can help to reduction as well as prevention of accidents. Accuracy is important when it comes to road safety and one must always strive to achieve the highest accuracy, provided there is no trade off’ with inexcusable time. Most of the road accidents are caused due to drowsiness or drunk driving. This paper deals with the design and testing of drunk and sleep-deprived driver detection device. This paper presents a low-cost effective method for drowsiness detection and proposes a method to detect whether the driver is drunk or not. Finally, it lays off a way to communicate with emergency help services. It deals with the design and testing of drunk and drowsy driver detection device.

Mental health providers cannot ignore the importance of utilizing technology in this era of the internet of things. This chapter reaffirms the need for mental health providers and software developers to work in concert with each other when developing technology for mental health. The authors also articulate the importance of the patient and the patient's role in connecting technology to the equation. As researchers and practitioners, the goal should be to create technology that will encourage repeated and continuous use of said technology and not just technology acceptance in order to move the field forward toward the provision of low-cost, effective mental health services.

Abstract The advent of the Internet of Things and the growing interest in continuous monitoring by wearables have created a need for conformable and stretchable displays. Electrochromic displays (ECDs) are receiving attention as a cost-effective solution for many simple applications. However, stretchable ECDs have yet to be produced in a robust, large scale and cost-efficient manner. Here we develop a process for making fully screen printed stretchable ECDs. By evaluating commercially available inks with respect to electromechanical properties, including electrochromic PEDOT:PSS inks, our process can be directly applied in the manufacturing of stretchable organic electronic devices. The manufactured ECDs retained colour contrast with useful switching times at static strains up to 50 % and strain cycling up to 30 % strain. To further demonstrate the applicability of the technology, double-digit 7-segment ECDs were produced, which could conform to curved surfaces and be mounted onto stretchable fabrics while remaining fully functional. Based on their simplicity, robustness and processability, we believe that low cost printed stretchable ECDs can be easily scaled up and will find many applications within the rapidly growing markets of wearable electronics and the Internet of Things.

В настоящей статье представлены результаты экспериментального исследования динамики когнитивного компо- нента социальной установки начинающих водителей. Приведены данные анализа психометрических показателей, характеризую- щих уровень осведомленности о факторах риска дорожно-транспортной среды, – вождение в нетрезвом состоянии и скоростное вождение. Показано, как дополнительные знания об этих факторах риска приводят к изменению установки на безопасное вождение и в дальнейшем могут обусловливать количество реальных нарушений правил дорожного движения в течение первого года стажа водительскойдеятельности. This article presents the results of an experimental research of the dynamics of the cognitive component of the social attitudes of novice drivers. The data of the analysis presents the psychometric indicators that characterized of knowledge about the risk factors of the road safety – drunk driving and speeding driving. This research shows how additional knowledge about these risk factors leads to a change in the social attitude towards safe driving and can determine the number of the violations of the traffic rules during the first year of driving experience.

This article focuses on the analysis of promising technologies for long-range traffic transmission for the implementation of the Internet of Things. The result of the review of technical features of technologies, their advantages and disadvantages is given. A comparative analysis was performed. An analysis is made that in the future heterogeneous structures based on the integration of many used radio technologies will play a crucial role in the implementation of fifth generation networks and systems. The Internet of Things (IoT) is heavily affecting our daily lives in many domains, ranging from tiny wearable devices to large industrial systems. Consequently, a wide variety of IoT applications have been developed and deployed using different IoT frameworks. An IoT framework is a set of guiding rules, protocols, and standards which simplify the implementation of IoT applications. The success of these applications mainly depends on the ecosystem characteristics of the IoT framework, with the emphasis on the security mechanisms employed in it, where issues related to security and privacy are pivotal. In this paper, we survey the security of the main IoT frameworks, a total of 8 frameworks are considered. For each framework, we clarify the proposed architecture, the essentials of developing third-party smart apps, the compatible hardware, and the security features. Comparing security architectures shows that the same standards used for securing communications, whereas different methodologies followed for providing other security properties.

<span>This paper presents a low-cost PV current-voltage or <em>I-V</em> curve tracer that has the Internet of Things (IoT) capability. Single ended primary inductance converter (SEPIC) is used to develop the <em>I-V</em> tracer, which is able to cope with rapidly changing irradiation conditions. The <em>I-V</em> tracer control software also has the ability to automatically adapt to the varying irradiation conditions. The performance of the <em>I-V</em> curve tracer is evaluated and verified using simulation and experimental tests.</span>

The aim of this article is to describe educational activities concerning improvement of road safety taken by the [Polish] Road Transport Inspection. In order to build awareness of our society some actions should be taken at the earliest age and involve many different institutions, not only schools. The authors show how the Road Transport Inspection fulfils this assumption by creating “Bezpieczna Szkoła Krokodylka Tirka” (‘Crocodile Tirek's School of Safety’), organising lessons about road safety in hospitals, high schools or lectures on conferences, fairs and other events concerning transportation, logistics and shipping. The Engagement of the Road Transport Inspection in education and media campaigns involving road safety has been discussed in the range of years 2018-2020 and it shows the dynamic development of the unit on this field. Our analysis indicates that the most effective in education is combination of both theory and practise or sharing by officers, their knowledge and work experience with the audience. The biggest challenge, on the contrary, is to bring all this activities to the Internet, which is necessary especially because of coronavirus pandemic.

Abstract The modern world progressively demands more energy; according to forecasts energy consumption will grow at an average annual rate of 3 percent. Therefore, it is necessary to purchase products or devices that are efficient and environmentally friendly. Technology in LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting is presented as an alternative to energy saving, since LEDs have proven to be extremely efficient, have a long service life and their cost-effective ratio is very good. However, the heat emitted by the LED chip must be dissipated effectively, since the overheating of the chip reduces the efficiency and lifetime of the lamp. Therefore, heat sinks that are reliable, efficient and inexpensive should be designed and built. The present work proposes new designs for heat sinks in LED lamps, some of the models in the design of the fins refer to the Fibonacci series. The models proposed in the present work that have a significant advantage are the Type 1E Model (5.2% mass savings and better thermal efficiency of 8.33%), GR Type 1 Model (3.12% lighter and 3.33% more efficient) and the GRL Type Model (4. 51% mass savings and 5.55% thermally more efficient) compared to the Type 2 Reference Model proposed by Jang et al. [12].
