Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) communication promises a vast array of applications ranging from road safety and driving comfort. Safety message broadcasting plays a significant role in highway safety in which the safety alert messages have to be delivered immediately to the vehicles located in the risk boundary area. Most of the current research attempt to select optimal relayer for safety message rebroadcasting. However, relayer selection models are not efficient, especially in a high-density VANET, as they cause a high delay in safety message delivery and lead to multiple accidents at the incident spot. To avert these issues, this work proposes a QoS Routing Protocol (QoRP) that aims to enhance the road safety in both sparse and dense VANETs.

Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET ) is a special type of communication network that promises wide applications ranging from road safety to driving comfort. The rich applications enhance the safety and comfort of travelers by establishing a cooperative communication among the vehicles. To increase communication efficiency this work proposes an Ant Colony Optimization based Quality of Service Routing protocol(ACORP) for VANETs that aims to enhance the road safety and travel convenience in VANETs.

Abstract The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) topology will change the mobility of the nodes and the data delivery will be efficient in the vehicle environment. This technique uses the density, mobility, dissemination in the requirements of emergency message broadcasting. The emergency message is broadcast on the road causes many issues like reliability, latency and scalability. Beacons are used in the VANET to broadcast messages and get the information from neighbours. When more vehicles transmit the messages in equal time lead a frequent broadcast storm the vehicles are faced the message delivery failure. Adaptive Scheduled Partitioning and Broadcasting technique (ASPBT) is used in our paper for message reliability, and the transmission efficiency will adjust the partitions and beacon automatically for reducing retransmissions. The partition size is determined using the density of network transmission of each partition schedule is estimated using the Black Widow Optimization (BWOA). The emergency message gets low delay and redundancy of the message is reducing, ASPBT include the forwarding of novel with the selection of optimal partition. The performance analysis is done with the existing methods for the determination of efficiency, redundancy, collision, and delay. The efficiency of proposed technique as 98% comparing with existing broadcast schemes of VANET.

Many people lose their life and/or are injured due to accidents or unexpected events taking place on road networks. Besides traffic jams, these accidents generate a tremendous waste of time and fuel. Undoubtedly, if the vehicles are provided with timely and dynamic information related to road traffic conditions, any unexpected events or accidents, the safety and efficiency of the transportation system with respect to time, distance, fuel consumption and environmentally destructive emissions can be improved. In the field of computer and information science, Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) have recently emerged as an effective tool for improving road safety through propagation of warning messages among the vehicles in the network about potential obstacles on the road ahead. VANET is a research area which is in more demand among the researchers, the automobile industries and scientists to discover about the loopholes and advantages of the vehicular networks so that efficient routing algorithms can be developed which can provide reliable and secure communication among the mobile nodes.In this paper, we propose a Groundwork Based Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol (GAODV) focus on how the Road Side Units (RSU’s) utilized in the architecture plays an important role for making the communication reliable. In the interval of finding the suitable path from source to destination the packet loss may occur and the delay also is counted if the required packet does not reach the specified destination on time. So to overcome delay, packet loss and to increase throughput GAODV approach is followed. The performance parameters in the GAODV comes out to be much better than computed in the traditional approach.

Background & Objective: There are some challenging issues such as providing Quality of Service (QoS), restricted usage of channels and shared bandwidth pertaining to ad-hoc networks in a dynamic topology. Hence, there is a requirement to support QoS for the application environment and multimedia services in ad-hoc networks with the fast growing and emerging development of information technology. Eventually, bandwidth is one of the key elements to be considered. Methods: Energy aware QoS routing protocol in an ad-hoc network is presented in this article. Results and Conclusion: The simulation results indicate that the improved protocol outperforms Adhoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol in terms of QoS metric such as throughput, packet delivery ratio, loss rate and average delay.


The overall automobile industry in the world has encountered remarkable growth, vehicle increases traffic density which seems in increasing accidents. Thus the automobile Industries, researchers and government are shifted their focus in the direction of improving on-road safety instead of improving the condition of the roads. The top development in the wireless technologies emerged a diverse new sort of networks together with Vehicular Ad Hoc Network, VANET uses wireless network technology wherein driving gets safer by inter-vehicle communication. Using this technology, automobiles are not only envisioned to contact between each other, but also to get information from and transmit data to infrastructural units. In this, we have discussed about the traits and applications of VANET along with routing protocols. The routing protocols states how two communiqué individuals interchange information which covers the methods to generate path, to retain the route or improve from routing fiasco. In this we have explained two routing protocols i.e. Topology based routing protocol and Geographic (Position-based) routing protocol with its types, advantages and disadvantages as well as we have examined the performance of AODV and GPSR routing protocols using quality matrix.
