Nowadays, in online social networks, there is an instantaneous extension of multimedia services and there are huge offers of video contents which has hindered users to acquire their interests. To solve these problem different personalized recommendation systems had been suggested. Although, all the personalized recommendation system which have been suggested are not efficient and they have significantly retarded the video recommendation process. So to solve this difficulty, context extractor based video recommendation system on cloud has been proposed in this paper. Further to this the system has server selection technique to handle the overload program and make it balanced. This paper explains the mechanism used to minimize network overhead and recommendation process is done by considering the context details of the users, it also uses rule based process and different algorithms used to achieve the objective. The videos will be stored in the cloud and through application videos will be dumped into cloud storage by reading, coping and storing process.

Distributed appliances connected to the Internet have provided various multimedia services. In particular, networked Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) can store broadcast TV programs in their storage devices or receive them from central servers, enabling people to watch the programs they want at any desired time. However, the conventional CDNs capable of supporting a large number of concurrent users have limitations in scalability because more servers are required in proportion to the increased users. To address this problem, we have developed a time-shifted live streaming system over P2P networks so that PVRs can share TV programs with each other. We propose cooperative buffering schemes to provide the streaming services for time-shifted periods even when the number of PVRs playing back at the periods is not sufficient; we do so by utilizing the idle resources of the PVRs playing at the live broadcast time. To determine which chunks to be buffered, they consider the degree of deficiency and proximity and the ratio of playback requests to chunk copies. Through extensive simulations, we show that our proposed buffering schemes can significantly extend the time-shifting hours and compare the performance of two buffering schemes in terms of playback continuity and startup delay.

Abstract Modern vehicles are connected to the network and between each other through smart sensors and smart objects commonly present on board. This situation has allowed manufacturers to send over-the-air updates, receive diagnostic information, and offer various multimedia services. More generally, at present, all this is indicated by the term 'Vehicle to Everything' (V2X), which indicates a system of communication between a vehicle to any entity that may influence the vehicle and vice versa. However, it introduces problems regarding the vehicle's IT security. It is possible, for example, by tampering with one of the Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to take partial or total control of the vehicle. In this paper, we introduce a preliminary study case to guarantee cybersecurity inside connected vehicles. In particular, an Intrusion Detection System over the CAN-Bus to allow the possible malicious massages. In particular, through the use of a two-step detection algorithm that exploits both the variation of the status parameters of the various ECUs over time and the Bayesian networks can identify a possible attack. The first experimental results seem encouraging.

The automotive industry has been transformed through technological progress during the past decade. Vehicles are equipped with multiple computing devices that offer safety, driving assistance, or multimedia services. Despite these advancements, when an incident occurs, such as a car crash, the involved parties often do not take advantage of the technological capabilities of modern vehicles and attempt to assign liability for the incident to a specific vehicle based upon witness statements. In this paper, we propose a secure, decentralized, blockchain-based platform that can be employed to store encrypted position and velocity values for vehicles in a smart city environment. Such data can be decrypted when the need arises, either through the vehicle driver’s consent or through the consensus of different authorities. The proposed platform also offers an automated way to resolve disputes between involved parties. A simulation has been conducted upon a mobility traffic dataset for a typical day in the city of Cologne to assess the applicability of the proposed methodology to real-world scenarios and the infrastructure requirements that such an application would have.

Firewalls is one of the major components to provide network security. By using firewalls, you can solve such problems as preventing unauthorized access, and deleting, modifying and/or distributing information under protection. The process of information flows filtration by a firewall introduces additional time delays, thus possibly leading to disruption of stable operation of the protected automated system or to inaccessibility of the services provided by the system. Multimedia services are particularly sensitive to service time delays. The main purpose of the work presented in this paper is to evaluate the influence of the firewall on the time delays in data transmission process in the automated system with multimedia data transmission protocols. The evaluation is provided by the queuing theory methods while a session is initiated between two users by the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) with firewall message filtration. A firewall is a local or functional distributing tool that provides control over the incoming and/or outgoing information in the automated system (AS), and ensures the protection of the AS by filtering the information, i.e., providing analysis of the information by the criteria set and making a decision on its distribution.

All multimedia services must be accessible. Accessibility for multimedia content is typically provided by means of access services, of which subtitling is likely the most widespread approach. To date, numerous recommendations and solutions for subtitling classical 2D audiovisual services have been proposed. Similarly, recent efforts have been devoted to devising adequate subtitling solutions for VR360 video content. This paper, for the first time, extends the existing approaches to address the challenges remaining for efficiently subtitling 3D Virtual Reality (VR) content by exploring two key requirements: presentation modes and guiding methods. By leveraging insights from earlier work on VR360 content, this paper proposes novel presentation modes and guiding methods, to not only provide the freedom to explore omnidirectional scenes, but also to address the additional specificities of 3D VR compared to VR360 content: depth, 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF), and viewing perspectives. The obtained results prove that always-visible subtitles and a novel proposed comic-style presentation mode are significantly more appropriate than state-of-the-art fixed-positioned subtitles, particularly in terms of immersion, ease and comfort of reading, and identification of speakers, when applied to professional pieces of content with limited displacement of speakers and limited 6DoF (i.e., users are not expected to navigate around the virtual environment). Similarly, even in such limited movement scenarios, the results show that the use of indicators (arrows), as a guiding method, is well received. Overall, the paper provides relevant insights and paves the way for efficiently subtitling 3D VR content.

The quality of functioning multiservice telecommunication networks based on the architectural concept Next Generation Network (NGN) and Future Networks (FN) using modern innovative technologies has been analyzed. Based on the study, a new approach to the construction model for assessing performance indicators multiservice telecommunication networks based on SDN (Software Defined Networking) technologies, taking into account the property self-similarity traffic is proposed. On the basis of the proposed approach, complex indicators MTS were investigated, taking into account the requirement QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience). The mathematical apparatus and the results of the study throughput software and hardware complexes, the probabilistic-time characteristics of the network and the management physical resources in the provision multimedia services are presented. Models have been investigated and analytical expressions have been obtained for the assessment complex indicators of the quality offunctioning MTS in the provision multimedia services with the necessary parameters. А numerical analysis is carried out and a graphical dependence of the maximum network throughput on the total number software and hardware systems for a given system load factor is built.
