scholarly journals Characteristics on Performance and Emission Characteristics of Papaya Seed Oil with VCR Engines for Different Nozzles

The conventional fuels are necessity for all the automobile machineries, due to deficiency of conventional energy sources need to search for alternative sources like biodiesels should give more impact to the automobile sectors. Biodiesel are clean energy, eco friendly, easily possible to produce from biomass. Alternative energy sources having more capable for solving environment aspects like reduce the pollution to the environment. This paper deals papaya seed oil used as feedstock, in this biodiesel produced by transesterification method using potassium hydroxide (KOH) as catalyst. This biofuel is used in four stoke, single cylinder, variable compression engine (VCR). The rated speed of the engine is 1500 rpm. This emission performance is analyzing for different nozzles with blends. Carbon mono oxide (CO) slightly increasing with load, Hydro carbon (HC) slightly decreasing with load, Carbon di-oxide(CO2) increasing with load. Oxygen (O2) is decreasing with load. Nitrogen oxide (NOX) and particulate matter is also increasing slightly with load.

With each passing year, the problem of using alternative energy sources is gaining increasing attention, since the energy of the sun, water and wind, unlike hydrocarbons, belongs to practically inexhaustible resources. Besides this, alternative energy sources are relatively environmentally friendly, so any country is interested in using them. One of the factors affecting the increase of energy generation from alternative sources is the legal regulation of this area by the government. In many foreign countries a number of conceptual, doctrinal and program documents are adopted and implemented, which are dealing with the use of renewable energy sources. In order to stimulate the use of alternative energy sources, the governments of some countries create favorable conditions for attracting investment in the development of this sector, which, further, not only creates new jobs, but also has a generally positive effect on the economy.

The study in this chapter examined policy options for promoting solar PV diffusion into the energy mix of six selected remote villages that were pilot sites for national and foreign assisted solar electrification programs in three ecological regions of Nigeria. A total of 910 questionnaires were administered on the solar PV users, suppliers, and government agencies to elicit information on alternative energy sources for provision of energy services. The results showed that solar PV usage was 49.9 kWh per/day, which constituted an insignificant share of about 14% in the total lighting requirement and less than 2% of the total requirement for energy services. The demand would rise to 73.3 kWh per/day by 2019 at the same 14% share of the total lighting requirement. Firewood demand maintained over 80 percent share (2383.5 kWh per/day) in the total energy mix in 2009. It also revealed that the best policy option of 200 percent increase in solar bulbs’ share for lighting by 2014 would require 50% reduction in kerosene share. The study concluded that increasing utilization of solar PV for lighting, entertainment, refrigeration, and ventilation in the study areas could lead to decrease in the use of energy from alternative sources.

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of regulatory and legal support of alternative energy sources as a component of the energy sector of the economy. It is proved that the military actions in Donbass, the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus and a number of secondary causes were the result of the first manifestations of the economic crisis in Ukraine. It is concluded that it is important for Ukraine now to provide state support to electricity producers from alternative energy sources on a competitive basis, namely through auctions and tenders.

With the world-wide wave of economic development and improved traditional living standard of people, consumption of fuel has also increased significantly. Exponential growth in use of fossil fuel and its impacts compelled to search for alternative energy sources. Green energy is that source of energy that is naturally restocked. Nepal is rich enough country for renewable energy sources even though, could not accelerate growth and development agenda.  Appropriate policy and planning of green energy would help to give a big push to break development hazards and would contribute for economic freedom and energy security.  This paper attempts to scrutinize and understand the green energy utilization, proper management and exploring the capacity of the Nepalese economy.

In recent years, there have been strategy changes in international and European policies and procedures about the environment and sustainable development. The focus has been on the agents and activities that exhaust natural resources and harm the environment. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and shipping companies' international organisations are trying to reduce the polluting emissions and greenhouse gases generated by vessels. This article looks at various alternative energy sources that can be used to power vessels and their auxiliary equipment, as well as at their economic and environmental repercussions on the transport of goods by sea.

This chapter discusses alternative energy sources and the advantages of biofuels over fossil fuels. It outlines the main steps of bioethanol production and suggests some alternative sources as potential feedstock. The core focus of this chapter is to examine new research which considers the use of agricultural waste as a feedstock for bioethanol production rather than conventional feedstocks such as sugarcane and corn. The advantages of sugarcane bagasse as a feedstock are discussed in detail and the bioprocessing requirements are studied in comparison to traditional methods that use sugarcane as the feedstock. The chapter concludes by briefly outlining further research that could potentially improve these processes.

The paper considers ways to assess the efficiency of using alternative sources of heat when melting alloys in electric arc furnaces. The focus is on increasing furnace productivity and reducing production costs. The analysis of the use of various systems for intensifying melting in arc furnaces and their main indicators is carried out. An assessment of the efficiency of fuel use in electric arc furnaces has been carried out. The expected economic effect from the introduction of alternative energy sources in electric furnaces has been calculated. It is shown that the economic effect from the introduction of alternative energy sources on electric arc furnaces depends significantly on the increase in furnace productivity.
