Purpose – The purpose of this study is to determine the beliefs that influence university students to use social networking sites (SNS) for expressive participation in social movements. Design/methodology/approach – The original technology acceptance model (TAM), a quantitative methodological approach, and a survey were used to collect responses from 214 university students in Spain. Structural equation modelling was used to test the proposed relationships. Findings – Results confirm that the perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived usefulness (PU) of SNS significantly affect a student's intention to use SNS for expressive social participation in social movements, with use intention significantly affecting actual participation. There was no significant moderating effect of students' gender on these relationships. Originality/value – Although there is much discussion in the popular press about how people use SNS, there is no published empirical research on the determinants that contribute to a person's intention to use and actual use of SNS in the context of social movements. This paper is one of the first studies to investigate young people's perception of the SNS usefulness and ease of the use for participation in social movements.

This practice is no exception to zakat institutions in Malaysia when they must seize this technology evolution to ease the zakat payers in fulfilling the obligation as Muslim via online payment system. This study aims to identify the determinants affecting the intention to use online zakat payment among Muslim in Shah Alam, Selangor. A structured questionnaire is distributed to 300 Muslim respondents Muslim using a convenience sampling technique. The results of the estimated multiple regression show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and security and privacy critical drivers of intention to use online zakat payment while no significant relationship was found between trust and amount of information to use online zakat payment. Thus, the empirical findings of this study provide a point of reference to zakat institutions to leverage the usefulness and ease of use of the online collection zakat system to increase zakat collections. Additionally, the institution must also beef up its security and privacy of users to alleviate the acceptance of online system usage.

This article intends to empirically test and analyse Social Networking Sites (SNS) usage pattern applying Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and predict user’s intention to use SNS. This information would help in understanding better its remarkable marketing potential in India to practice and to create user value. The researchers explored intentions to use SNS using Davis (1985) TAM in Indian context and applied confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modelling (SEM) technique to check the model fitness. To commensurate this, a survey was carried out through a well-structured questionnaire of 172 respondents of North India, particularly from western UP covering different age groups, income level, educational background and professions. To explore the degree of fitness of TAM factors in SNS, six hypotheses were formulated and tested, where four were accepted and two were rejected. Findings revealed that the TAM fits with the data to interpret and analyse intentions to use SNS in the target population. Since the survey was conducted in and around Mathura (UP), this work could be extended to further research covering bigger geographical areas and sample size to have more accurate predictions regarding diversified SNS usage pattern in India. To evaluate the integration of new technologies, traditional TAM is extensively used. The ‘Intention to Use SNS’ is studied comparatively less in Indian context. This study explores and underlines the diversified potential of these networks. To gauge detailed information, the researcher added five items in ‘Perceived Usefulness’ construct and one item in ‘Intention to Use’ construct of TAM. The objective is to critically analyse and interpret respondent’s viewpoints regarding diversified SNS usage intentions, in addition to viewing and communicating with old and new friends.

Background/Objectives: This study investigates the effects of Smart Attributes of SPA on the perceived usefulness and Intension to Use of blockchain systems. To achieve the purpose of the study, we analyzed the effect of Smart Attributes of SPA on Perceived Usefulness and Intension to Use of blockchain systems using TAM.Methods/Statistical analysis: The data for this study were collected through a survey. We conducted a survey of users from June to August 2019. A Likert 5-point scale was used. The survey targeted Small and Medium Construction staff and using the Blockchain system. There were 719 valid cases. SPSS 24 and AMOS 22 were used for the analysis of collected data. The analysis methods were technical analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, CFA, Structural Equation Model.Findings: The findings can be implied in three ways: First, when designing a blockchain-based securities lending system, the system should be designed according to the user's purpose, that is, the 'Usability' attribute should be included in the function. Second, 'Customization' should be considered when designing the system. In other words, the needs of specific customers should be fully understood and reflected in the system design. Third, when designing a system, the 'Connectivity' attribute must be fully considered. It is to be able to connect social and device-to-device networks and all the connectable objects.Improvements/Applications: When designing a blockchain-based securities lending system, the four attributes of Smart Attributes of SPA should be fully reflected. In other words, if 'Usability', 'Customization', and 'Connectivity' are reflected as much as possible, it will contribute to the early settlement of the system.

Online shopping has become a new shopping style. There is little research about online impulsive buying (OIB). We develop the questionnaire of the reasons for OIB by open and structured questionnaires. There are all about 327 participants took part in our survey, of which 102 participated in the open questionnaire and another225 participated in the structured questionnaire. Based on content analysis, we found that the reason for OIB includes four factors: perceived usefulness, price, entertainment and interpersonal interaction. Internal consistency analyses and CFA (Confirmatory Factor Analysis) showed the questionnaire had high reliability and validity.
