Billions of waste is produced in the world but the wastes are not properly recycled. Recycling of materials also different issues and it needs more energy. The waste materials are stored in a land also create more amounts of problem and it Leeds to land pollution. The utilization of waste materials in the manufacturing of building is a challenging task. But it is the good solution for disposal of waste materials in the developed building materials. We need to analyze the waste materials first then only we can utilize the materials in the perfect way. Now a day’s lot of research is going on in the waste utilization area. This literature study mentioned the various waste materials and how it is used in our real construction field. The waste utilization gave two things. First one is reduction of the pollution and the second is save the natural materials for sustainable development. This paper also shows the betterment results of the waste utilization technique.

High Ti-bearing blast furnace (BF) slag is the smelting waste of vanadium titano-magnetite. It has great production but low utilization. The high Ti-bearing BF slag is used in building materials industry, which recycles waste material, saves resources and energy, benefiting environmental protection and achieving sustainable development of resources. Study on the recycling of high Ti-bearing BF slag will be an important subject of our researches in future.

The construction sector exerts an exceptional impact on economic development all over the world. Adequate buildings and infrastructures made by the construction sector ensure that a country reaches certain targets like social development, industrialization, freight transportation, sustainable development, and urbanization. This study aims to determine the construction sector’s connectivity with other sectors through complex linkages that contribute immensely to the economy and gross domestic product (GDP). The data were collected from the Department of Statistics Malaysia and the World Bank from the year 1970 to 2019, and the Pearson correlation test, the cointegration test, and the Granger causality test were conducted. The vector error correction model (VECM) was created for short-term and long-term equilibrium analysis and impulse response function (IRF) was performed to study construction industry behavior. Afterwards, the forecasting was done for the year 2020 to 2050 of the Malaysian economy and GDP for the required sectors. It was revealed that some sectors, such as agriculture and services, have forward linkages while other sectors, such as manufacturing and mining, are independent of construction sector causality, which signifies the behavior of the contributing sectors when a recession occurs, hence generating significant revenue. The Malaysian economy is moving towards sustainable production with more emphasis on the construction sector. The outcome can be used as a benchmark by other countries to achieve sustainable development. The significance of this study is its usefulness for experts all over the world in terms of allocating resources to make the construction sector a sustainable sector after receiving a shock. A sustainable conceptual framework has been suggested for global application that shows the factors involved in the growth of the construction industry to ensure its sustainable development with time.

Sustainable development is a requisite for future generation, as increasing urbanization, destruction of natural resources by anthropic activities, degrading ecosystems for the sake of present economic development at cost of environmental exploitation are increasing by each passing day on earth. The goal of this chapter is to provide meaningful insights for policy-makers and decision-makers towards sustainable development in the construction industry. This study is first-of-its-kind study focusing on the Sustainable Developments Goals and sustainability dimensions and their criteria and indicators in one compilation through literature study. The study concludes that there is a need to integrate the construction industry into the Sustainable Development Goals and their targets to test the built environment sustainability and there is a need to develop the most adequate frameworks for commencing the topic. Two possible frameworks suggested for future research recommendation needed for the Indian context to enhance sustainability within construction industry are based on LCSA and MCDM analysis.

Construction industry is one of the largest consumers of the natural resources and responsible for substantial amount of CO2emission in the world. The purpose of this paper is to carry out comprehensive literature review on the low embodied energy materials and techniques used in the existing and / or new buildings in India. The paper also compares the conventional building materials and techniques, with alternative ones to assess their superiority. An investigation into the energy consumed by the building materials and techniques is computed to find out the embodied energy requirements to prove superiority of innovative construction techniques over traditional materials.

Discovering about sustainability, construction sector should be a part of participant in utilizing waste materials for the benefits of the industry. The idea of converting waste materials into some application can contribute to sustainability and greening the earth. Apart from that, research must be done to promote the waste material into economic and useful construction material. A concept of going green must be adopted rather than just thinking of the rapid construction as the whole project aim. This paper promotes sugarcane bagasse as an additive for construction material in 3 ways which are on concrete strength improver, a concrete retarder and composite brick. The sugarcane bagasse were blended and mixed with 30MPa concrete with certain ratio and tested for compressive, flexural, water absorption and penetration. From the tests, it shows that the sugarcane bagasse gives a positive impact to concrete. Therefore, the usage of sugarcane bagasse can be considered as a concept of utilizing waste material for sustainable approach.

The complication of the environmental situation in the world makes mankind look for new economic models in which sustainable development is provided. With the growing population of the planet and its needs, there is an overconsumption of natural resources. The factors that are formed as a result of polymorphism of the system components «economy»-«ecology»-«society» are considered. It is proposed to replace the linear economy model, implemented in particular in the construction industry, with a model of the circular economy with its main imperatives oriented to biosphere-compatible construction at all stages of product creation while preserving natural resources.Keywords: circular economy, recycling, functional transformation, natural capital, greening, object life cycle

The main international trends in the world market of construction materials and services have been analyzed. The dynamics of world GDP and exports of construction services for the period 2000-2019 has been studied and a conclusion is made on the impact of economic crises on their growth rates. It has been determined that the dynamics of world exports of construction services is characterized by high instability with peaks of growth and decline, and is more sensitive than GDP growth. It has been noted that overcoming the crisis in the export sector of construction services takes more time and occurs with an approximate two-year time lag compared to GDP dynamics. The share of the construction industry in the world GDP by the degree of development has been analyzed. The reasons for the decline in the share of the construction industry in countries with economies in transition have been substantiated. It has been noted that in the developed countries the share of the construction sector is accounted for by real estate management activities related to maintenance, rent, purchase and sale and other transactions with land and real estate. The forecast values of growth of the market of building materials and services till 2030 have been given. The essence of the term «wide construction» has been revealed and the structure of this sector in different countries of the world is shown. The main exporters in the world construction market have been given and the structural distribution of the largest construction companies in the world ranking by country of origin has been analyzed. The dynamics of income level in the construction industry market for the period 2011-2018 has been studied. It has been noted that an important area of the construction sector is the market of roofing and facade materials and the world's largest companies for the production of this type of construction materials have been revealed. Conclusions on the essence of global transformations of the market of building materials and services have been made, and also it has been defined that they are caused by transnationalization of corporate structure of the market, influence of scientific and technical progress and information and communication technologies on world centers as well as the emergence of the concept of «sustainable construction» in the course of humanity for sustainable development.

Waste utilization in fruits and vegetable processing industries is one of the important and challengeable jobs around the world. It is anticipated that the discarded fruits as well as its waste materials could be utilized for further industrial purposes viz. fermentation, extraction of bioactive components, extraction of functional ingredients etc. Researchers have focused on the utilization of pineapple waste primarily for extraction of bromelain enzyme and secondarily as low-cost raw material for the production of ethanol, phenolic anti-oxidants, organic acids, biogas and fiber production. Pertinent scientific and technological implications would produce better and more profitable markets for pineapple wastes.
