Effective implementation of crediting strategy is paramount to the growth of Small and Micro Enterprises (SMEs) worldwide. Crediting provides adequate amount of initial capital needed by entrepreneurs to establish and operate their businesses. The government of Kenya having realized this scenario initiated the formation of Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) in 2007 as a micro credit to provide financial credit to women entrepreneurs throughout the country. Despite this, many women micro traders have inadequate access to credit to start and expand their SMEs. The specific objective of this study was to assess the influence crediting strategy on the growth of SMEs in Kenya. This research used a descriptive survey based design. The study’s target population constituted 2032 women group leaders from which a sample size of 335 respondents was selected randomly. Primary data was collected by use of structured researcher administered questionnaires. Data collected was analyzed by use of both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, by the aid of SPSS version 24. Both Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Linear Regression Analysis were computed to correlate the study’s variables. The study established a positive relationship between crediting strategy and the growth of SMEs. The findings of this study will help the government of Kenya in formulating and implementing crediting strategies that would make credit accessible and therefore boost growth of SMEs in the country. The study recommends that the government establishes policies that will necessitate accessibility of credit to SMEs in the country.

The government of Kenya established Women Enterprise Fund to enhance the growth of Small and Micro Enterprises in the country through its training strategy. The purpose of this study was to establish the influence of training strategy on growth of SMEs in Kenya. This research used a descriptive survey based design. The study’s target population was composed of group leaders’ beneficiaries of Constituency Women Enterprise Scheme. Both cluster sampling and simple random sampling were used to select a sample size of 335 respondents. Quantitative primary data was collected by use of structured questionnaires. The data collected was analyzed according to research objectives. The study utilized both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics to analyze data. Both ANONA and Regression Analysis were computed to assess the correlation between the variables. The findings of the study established that majority of clients had acquired relevant business skills. The training was given to most clients on a regular basis and enabled them to operate their SMEs more effectively. ANOVA results showed a correlation between training strategy and growth of SMEs since the calculated P value 0.001 was less than the critical value 0.005. The study therefore established a positive relationship between training strategy and growth of SMEs. The findings of this study will help the government of Kenya to formulate training strategies that would boost the growth of SMEs in the whole country. The study recommends the government to provide frequent training to all SMEs in the country to make them more efficient and effective.

This research paper aim was to establish the effectiveness of taxpayer education on tax compliance for SMEs in Kitengela town. There are reasons why KRA never met its revenue targets and the revenue collected has never surpassed the target set aside by the commission. The non-compliance of tax by SMEs can be attributed to the tax gap that is available in every fiscal year. KRA conducts taxpayer education to all registered SMEs in an effort to improve the existing level of tax compliance. The only way KRA will meet their target revenue is when they include all SMEs in the generation of the revenue. The study was anchored on Theory of Reasoned Action and Fisher Tax Compliance Model while the study variables were PAYE form of tax, tax rates, tax compliance cost, tax penalties and fines. The target population of the study were 1400 SMEs with a sample that was random stratified chosen of 140 SMEs. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and SSPS version 24.0. The inferential statistics was employed to establish the relations that exist between the study variables. Pearson correlation matrix was used for predicting and describing the variables in terms of directions and magnitude while regression analysis was conducted at a level of 5%. The data analysis tools will be   SSPS and the use of inferential statistics. The study established that the effectiveness of taxpayer education on tax compliance and all the predictors as shown by beta coefficients: PAYE (? = 0.542); tax rates (? = 0.482) and tax penalties and fines (? = 0.632). However, the study established there is a positive but statistically insignificant relationship (? =0.06, p= 0.671>0.05) between tax compliance cost and tax payer education. The study concluded that tax rates, PAYE, tax penalties and fines contribute greatly to tax compliance and finally tax compliance cost have the most significant influence on tax compliance. The study recommends that KRA should have an office in every county that will address tax issues at county level and the services to be offered should include tax penalties, filing of tax returns, tax computation and tax differentiation.

This study discusses the development of small and medium micro enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Kalimantan with rattan woven craft industries being used as samples to represent other MSME sectors. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement in the performance and strategy of the MSME group covering various aspects such as job training, capital support, equipment/technology assistance, and access to information and communication. The findings of this study indicate that the development of MSMEs carried out by regional governments in Central Kalimantan has gone in the right direction, with several factors still making improvements possible. Support in the form of training should be conducted regularly and scheduled with the topic of continuous training and productive participants. Aid in the form of equipment requires periodic evaluations, such as a reward-punishment system for business groups that have received various support to ensure the support provided is on target. Another strategy is to form the centre of the MSME industry in the Capital of the Province, to facilitate the access of tourists who just want to visit looking for typical Central Kalimantan souvenirs. The easiest way to do this now is to implement a movement of love for standard Central Kalimantan handicraft products to be displayed in various offices, offices, and government agencies as well as different infrastructure and public facilities.
