Introduction: Mathematical problem solving ability is very important in mathematic learning, because is can help students to solve daily life problems better. But the students mathematical problem solve ability is not high yet, one of the factor is because many students only know the standard procedures of solving mathematics problems, and when the given problem are different from the examples they tend to give up easily. This comparative design study aims to find out the improvement of students mathematical problem solving ability using Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with individual assignments and small group assignments, and to find out whether there are differences between those two. Method: The sample in this study was VII grade students at SMP Advent Cimindi and SMP Advent II Bandung, Bandung. The instruments used in the study are mathematical problem solving test and questionnaire for response toward the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model as the non-test instrument. Result: The results showed that the improvement of mathematical problem solving abilities of students who obtained the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with individual assignments and students who obtained the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model by assigning small groups was categorized as high. Statistically, there is a significant difference in the students mathematical problem solving improvement after being taught using Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model, between students who get individual assignments and small group assignments. The response questionnaire result shows that students who acquire individual assignments like the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model, more further the students who acquire group assignments really like the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model.

This study was aimed to know the differences in students' mathematical problem solving skills in problem basedlearning models with cooperative type thinking aloud pairs problem solving with a scientific approach at SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu. Thedesign of this research was a quasi-experimental, used a pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were all students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu consist of 6 classes, with samples consist of 3 classes, the first experimental class with the problem based learning model, the second experimental class cooperative learning model type thinking aloud pairs problem solving and conventional learning as a control class. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Data collection was done by using a test of students' mathematical problem solving skills. The results of the research data were analyzed using one-way ANAVA test and BNT test. The prerequisite test used the Kolmogrove-Smirnov test to see normality and Bartlet's test to see homogeneity. The significant level used is 0.05. The research data showed  that there was a significant difference in students' mathematical problem-solving ability in the learning model of Problem Based Learning, cooperative type thinking aloud pairs problem solving in SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu, and problem based learning learning model which gives better results compared to the thinking type cooperative learning model thinking aloud Pairs problem solving at SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu. Keywords: mathematical problem solving, PBL,TAPPS

Learning model chosen by educators teacher has not been able to accommodate the mathematics problems of students. For that, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model was applied. The purpose of research is to collation the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model and using the ordinary learning model (scientific approach). This type of research is a quasy experiment with randomized control group only design. The population of this study were all students of class VII SMPN 1 Danau Kembar. For to get sample class with random sampling technique. As for the research instrument used in the study is a test of mathematical problem solving students abilities. Based on the results of this avarage mathematical problem solving students abilities experiment class and control class is 80,30 and 73,16. Than the hypothesis testing using the t-test. From calculation result obtained t_count > t_table 2,21 > 1,64) with alpha=0,05 with 95% confidence interval so H0 rejected and accepted H1.Keywords : Mathematical problem solving abilities, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)

The aim of this study was to describe and to test the effect of problem solving learning model oriented toward Balinese local wisdom (PSBLW) and type of mathematics problems (open and closed problems) on the ability to solve mathematics problem of the fifth grade students of elementary in Singaraja. This quasi-experimental research used non-equivalent control group design with pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed with factorial 2x2 analysis of covariance (Anacova). The sample consisted of the fifth grade students of Elementary School with the total of 152 students spread into 4 classes. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling. The data were collected using mathematics problem solving ability test at the 5% significance level (α = 0.05). The statistical analysis was done with the aid of SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The results showed that (1) the ability, may to solve mathematics problems of the students who learned through PSBLW is higher than those who learned through direct instructional model; (2) the students’ability to solve problems facilitated with open mathematics problems was higher than that with closed mathematics problems. The conclusion is local wisdom-oriented problem solving learning model efective to improve mathematical problem solving ability.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Type STAD Cooperative Learning model on mathematical problem solving abilities. The data collection technique was obtained by means of a test in the form of description questions and documentation in the form of a list of student names. The research instrument used was 3 pre-test and post-test questions. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity, t test with the technique of paired samples t-test and independent t-test.      The results showed that, the paired sample t-test on the problem solving ability before and after treatment with STAD obtained an average value of 50.29 to 83.71 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. This means that the students' scores before and after STAD learning have differences in the average mathematical problem solving abilities. Based on the results of the paired sample t-test on the ability to solve mathematical problems before and after treatment using conventional learning models, the average value was 44.57 to 75.79 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. This means that there is a significant increase before and after conventional learning. Based on the results of the independent samples t-test, the mean values were 83.71 and 75.79 with a significance value of 0.009 <0.05. This means that there is a difference in the average problem-solving ability of students in STAD learning with students in conventional learning. It can be concluded that the STAD type of cooperative learning model has an effect on students' problem solving abilities in mathematics.
