scholarly journals La multifunzionalità dell'agricoltura nelle zone montane marginali

This report contains the scientific results of the research project co-funded by Regione Toscana entitled "La multifunzionalità dell'agricoltura nelle zone montane marginali: una valutazione qualitativa, quantitativa e monetaria degli impatti ambientali, economici e sociali". The project involved various partners, whose skills enabled the activity to take an integrated, multi-disciplinary bent; the University of Florence Department of Farming and Forestry Economics, Engineering, Science and Technology – DEISTAF – took responsibility for the scientific side, while the local partners counted the municipality of San Godenzo, L'Unione dei Comuni della Montagna Fiorentina and the Consorzio Marrone del Mugello IGP. The general aim of the whole research project was to prepare guidelines for the endogenous and sustainable development of outlying areas, while extending knowledge of a fundamental aspect of farming, the primary activity, namely its multiple functions.

Town planning entails the complex task of studying the habitat in its variegated aspects, with the objective of introducing functional transformations in response to the demands of the community. Since it is an experimental discipline, however, methods of approach and elaboration can be very different. This book represents the synthesis of the degree theses produced in the Department of Town and Territorial Planning of the University of Florence between 2000 and 2004, selected with a view to achieving a significant overview of the various issues and disciplinary areas. The volume thus addresses topical questions such as the protection of the historic identity, the rethinking of the modern city, obsolete areas and urban gaps, relational processes and spaces, sustainable development and planning, and the settlements of developing countries.

Background. The academic development becomes stronger by including the scientific results to the teaching process. The academic research project checking is a constant need from the university context. Objective. To value the behavior from the academic research project “Direct fiscal cost – benefit for the smoking in Cuba”. Materials and Methods. Was made a descriptive research from the result obtained by the academic research project “Cost – benefit direct fiscal from smoking in Cuba”. As theoric methods were used the historical – logical, the comparative and the inductive – deductive. As empiric method was used the bibliographic research. Results. The project had an extended scientific production. It is leasing the research about smoking economic benefits and it suggest make an extensive practice validation from the proposes in other health institutions where smoking is an important risk factor. Conclusions. The academic research project “Cost – benefit direct fiscal from smoking in Cuba” had obtained important results that show the smoking social costs in the researched population. However is leasing the description and accounting from the smoking economic benefits to estimate the cost – benefit relation. A closer relation with other health institutions might obtain present primary information and an extended practice validation.

The paper reports on the features of the framework for digital literacy support and documentation, developed within a research project the author is working on, with some colleagues in other Italian universities. First a short introduction on the features of today society often called “knowledge society” is reported, and the problems of digital divide and digital literacy are discussed. Soon after the research project, planned and carried out under the coordination of the University of Florence, for the development of the instruments to be devoted to the construction of a digital competence is drafted. To let the reader better understand how the project situates in the panorama of today studies, a synthesis of the international works on those topics is described, with a special attention to the connections between them and the new generations’ digital basic skills. The description of the general features of the project and of the instruments the author hypothesized for the hitting of the attained results are then discussed, while paying attention to the information systems to be used for the creation of an online testing system and for the management of digital literacy bibliography. The paper ends with some considerations on the evolution of the project and the possible results from it as regards informing science.

Abstract. GAMHer (Geomatics data Acquisition and Management for landscape and built Heritage in a European perspective) is a three-year research project financed under the Italian PRIN 2015 framework (Progetti di Ricerca di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale). The project, started in February 2017 under the University of Bologna coordination, links other 5 Italian research groups mainly involved in Cultural Heritage (CH) documentation and data management: Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, IUAV Venice, University of Florence, University of Cassino and Southern Lazio and University of Bergamo.

GAMHer aims at exploiting some research and practical challenges in those disciplines devoted to generate 3D models for objects related to both landscape and built heritage; primary focus is then on digital photogrammetry and 3D scanning. These techniques are more and more applied in different contexts, having as the main subjects monuments, buildings, natural and urban landscapes. Some critical points however remain for their implementation, also facing to the new European directives, strictly connected to the requirement of the Digital Agenda for Europe. A wider use of digital data has to be achieved, in Europe as well as internationally, and therefore an analysis of the current developments is significant, together with a critical assessment of their performances.

The Engineering Department of the University of Perugia and the Architecture Department of the University of Florence have started a research project on the ancient city gates of Perugia, belonging to the Etruscan city, dating between the third and second centuries b.C., and to the subsequent city wall completed in the twelfth century. In this paper, focus is placed on three Etruscan gates - Porta Eburnea (also called Porta della Mandorla), Porta Cornea and Porta Trasimena – which have in common profound Middle Age transformations and further significant context changes following the loss of function as defensive walls. Due to the decommissioning of this urban infrastructure, the gates have assumed a marginal role; nowadays they are almost completely absorbed by residential buildings, almost losing the memory of their origins and of the important Etruscan remains that are still preserved in the gates. Geomatic surveys on the three Etruscan gates were carried out by the Geomatics Laboratory of Perugia University in the frame of a research project financed by the Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia Foundation. The survey was carried out by means of a coordinated use of more Geomatic techniques: GNSS, Total Station, Terrestrial LIDAR and Digital Photogrammetry. From LIDAR and photogrammetry were derived dense point clouds, beside CAD plans, sections and elevations. The information acquired with these detailed surveys provide a completely new and accurate documentary evidence of the gates’ consistency, allowing to identify the actions and interventions that have changed their structure over time.

"The paper, at the conclusion of the work conducted during the first year of the PhD course in Storia delle Arti e dello Spettacolo (History of Cinema, Music, Fine and Performing Arts) at the University of Florence, briefly describes the structure and content of the theatrical archive of Andres Neumann, preserved at the il Funaro Centro Culturale of Pistoia. The fund is a precious instrument of historiography, because it contains documents relating to the main plays of the international theatre of the last thirty years of the twentieth century. After having presented and discussed some examples of documentary types contained in the archive, in particular regarding Tadeusz Kantor and Anatoly Vasiliev, the paper illustrates the prospects for development of this research project. Keywords: Andres Neumann, contemporary theatre, Tadeusz Kantor, Peter Brook, Pina Bausch, Anatoly Vasiliev, il Funaro Centro Culturale, Rondò di Bacco. "
