The construction of road tunnels is an important part of road infrastructure. The operation of road tunnels has historically been accompanied by a number of extraordinary events. Fires are among the most dangerous ones. Individual countries create their own safety standards that mutually differ to a large extent. Some of the differences of the requirements for safety devices, including the requirements for their functionality, are compared and commented on in this chapter. Moreover, attention is paid to the use of asphalt surfaces on roads and sidewalks in tunnels. This chapter also describes the approach to fire ventilation in tunnels, one of the most significant safety devices. Special attention is paid to the choice of the strategy of longitudinal ventilation, which has been the subject of many discussions. This chapter outlines the possible directions for a solution in the future.

Today Russia implements two different approaches to managing the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The first one entails signaling openness for international cooperation, foreign investments and cargo with the aim to develop the NSR into a globally competitive maritime route. Such approach is evident both from the statements of the high-ranking Russian officials and the strategic documents dedicated to the Arctic region. The other pattern is reflected in Russia’s willingness to impose limitations on foreign shipping on the Route. In addition to the permission-based national regime for navigation on the NSR, since 2018, Russia has ruled out certain maritime activities on the Route carried out by vessels flying non-Russian flags. Further measures for ships built outside Russia, as well as foreign warships, are being discussed. Taken together, these trends could lead to a suggestion that Russia sees the future development of the Northern Sea Route in attracting foreign investments and cargo, but not the vessels. However, additional layer of inconsistency emerges in Moscow’s attempts to justify the harsh national permission-based regime and national measures aimed at limiting foreign shipping on the NSR. The main argument by the Russian authorities is the special responsibility of the coastal state for the safety of navigation and protection of the marine environment. Yet, the practice indicates that the state is sometimes reluctant to keep high environmental and safety standards – both due to the lack of efficient law enforcement mechanisms and possible unwillingness to challenge the economic development of the region. The article concludes with the suggestion that Russia will need to more clearly decide the future course of development for the NSR and adjust the navigation regime and law enforcement mechanisms accordingly.

The object of research is applying the requirements of nuclear safeguards to the processing and mining facilities through which the Nuclear Materials Authority (NMA). One of the most problematic places is the NMA carries out its related nuclear activities as the body responsible for managing and operating those facilities, which must have a prominent role in imposing physical protection on these materials to protect them. During use, storage, or internal transportation, NMA should take all security and legal measures and precautions to prevent Nuclear materials from any seizure and its recovery in the event of any seizure. In the course of the research it is shown that the implementation of these requirements requires obtaining the necessary license to practice these activities, and that these activities are subject to the control of the Nuclear and Radiation Control Authority, by establishing a system for the safety and security of this nuclear equipment and materials. So that the system covers all equipment, tools, tasks, supplies, equipment, and materials present in any of the Authority’s projects and sectors Scientific. As a result of the research we have reached the importance of applying nuclear safeguards to nuclear facilities in completing the nuclear infrastructure in Egypt and completing the construction of the Egyptian peaceful nuclear program considering international standards issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In the future, the proposed approach is In the future, the proposed approach is to establish a general framework for the application of nuclear safeguards procedures to the processing and mining facilities of the NMA. These safeguards are applied as a basis for completing the nuclear legislative infrastructure, the safety of Nuclear Facilities and fulfilling the requirements of IAEA. This is done by establishing a specialized unit that includes many engineers, geologists and chemists to collect all engineering and technological data, information, designs, and drawings for all nuclear and radiological facilities, activities, and practices existing at the authority under the safety standards written about equipment, tools, devices, supplies, and tasks.

Abstract - The new electrical installation information system is an information system that hasbeen computerized by the system. in a new electrical installation system the admin enters the dataof the applicant who wants to pair the new electricity in his home automatically to the databaseand makes it easy for the admin to search for data in the future. If the system is not computerizedand only manually, the applicant's data will still be stacked in a file cabinet, so that when makingthe report it has difficulty in searching the applicant's data and has the risk of losing data. This isbecause it is not supported by the presence of storage media in the form of a database system formanagement of applicant data. Based on this, the new web barcode-based electrical installationinformation system can help the applicant in registering the electricity installation and become asystem of information delivery that can provide convenience in processing the applicant's data foradministrative staff, especially in processing and data storage applicant data. Keywords - Systems, Information, Installation of new electricityAbstrak - Sistem informasi pemasangan listrik baru merupakan sistem informasi yang tsudahterkomputerisasi sistemnya . dalam sebuah sistem pemasangan listrik baru admin menginputkan datapemohon yang ingin memasangkan listrik baru dirumahnya secara otomatis ke database dan memudahkanadmin dalam pencarian data dikemudian hari . The Merak-Bakauheni Ferry Port is a connecting route between Java and Sumatra. With its role as a driver of economic growth between islands, it is hoped that the smooth movement of passengers and goods can take place effectively and efficiently. Research on the ferries at the Merak-Bakauheni route is carried out to analyse the movement of people and goods based on the time of service, the number of ferry boats, and the number of docks, so that changes can be implemented to ensure the ferry service is fast, precise, safe, and comfortable. Public transportation in the current era is a very important necessity for every community in supporting all activities and daily routines, PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry Persero as a ferry operator plays an important role in organizing proper public transportation in our country. The main problem identified by this research is the absence of a safety standard for sea ferries transportation. The expected result with this research is to be able to take inventory of safety standards and to anticipate the extent of safety on the ferry so that recommendations can be formulated to prevent accidents in the future. At the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (European commission, Joint Research Centre, IRMM) a dismantling campaign of obsolete installations and glove boxes has been carried out in 2005. There were various reasons for their removal. Some large installations did not meet modern safety standards, other installations were worn out and expected to cause a radioactive contamination risk in the future. The main goal was to create as less waste as possible by extensive contamination checks and by decontamination if necessary. For the glove boxes, decontamination was not possible. A controlled area was set up around the installation to be dismantled in order to prevent spreading of contamination from dust and dirt. This was only possible for the “minor” contaminated installations. The dismantling campaign of the glove boxes was carried out by using tents of two types depending the contamination inside the glove boxes. The most common glove boxes were dismantled in a tent constructed with hard surfaced polycarbonate plates (ventilated cell). For glove boxes with higher contamination, the same principle was used but with a second “glove box tent” inside (ventilated glove tent). The purpose of this project was to learn from the experience of this campaign which gave the ability to make estimates of future radioactive waste or classic waste that could be expected from dismantled installations.

Our attitudes towards the risks of climate change must be reconsidered. We must recognise that the consequences will be huge and inevitable if we do not act now. Better to accept a few false alarms rather than be unprepared for a climate catastrophe. An outstanding example is the calculation by groups from Germany and the UK in 2009 (1) of the allowable emissions of CO2 before a 2°C increase in global temperature is exceeded. This leaves very little time, only 4 to 8 years, for mitigation measures. Nuclear fission now presents a formidable fleet of some 450 reactors benefitting from over 50 years of operational experience. Throughout decades of development, they reached outstanding safety standards, exceeding those of most renewable sources. However, the threat of climate change is calling this perspective into question as nuclear technology requires long-term stability of institutions. The future of nuclear fission will be determined after the expiration of the next decade with the development of hydro, solar and wind energy as replacements. For Croatia, in view of future climate insecurity, we cannot recommend the construction of a nuclear power plant built to operate from 2043 to 2083 (2) as a replacement for the outgoing NE Krško plant. Instead, we should intensify the development of our renewable resources.
