Sertaconazole properties are discussed in the article. According to literature data application of the derivation of benzotiafene and imidazole solves a problem of resistance towards antimycotics. Sertaconazole has a wide spectrum of activity towards fungi & bacteria and also has antiinflammatory effect. The present examination of therapeutic efficacy included 33 patients who suffered from superficial mycoses complicated by bacterial infection. Levocetirizine was prescribed in case of dermatomikides. Both monotherapy by sertaconazole and combination with levocetirizine were high effective and well tolerable.

Guanylate-binding proteins (GBPs) have recently emerged as central orchestrators of immunity to infection, inflammation, and neoplastic diseases. Within numerous host cell types, these IFN-induced GTPases assemble into large nanomachines that execute distinct host defense activities against a wide variety of microbial pathogens. In addition, GBPs customize inflammasome responses to bacterial infection and sepsis, where they act as critical rheostats to amplify innate immunity and regulate tissue damage. Similar functions are becoming evident for metabolic inflammatory syndromes and cancer, further underscoring the importance of GBPs within infectious as well as altered homeostatic settings. A better understanding of the basic biology of these IFN-induced GTPases could thus benefit clinical approaches to a wide spectrum of important human diseases.

Relevance. The work is devoted to the results of studying of the antimicrobial and therapeutic efficacy of the drug thiacycline in subclinical mastitis in sheep. The aim of our research еsеwas to study the antimicrobial activity and therapeutic efficacy of thiacycline in subclinical mastitis in lactating ewes.Methods. The study of antimicrobial activity was carried out by the method of serial dilutions in a liquid nutrient medium, on the basis of the Caspian zonal NIVI in the laboratory on the study of diseases of non-infectious etiology of farm animals. The therapeutic efficacy of thiacycline was studied in the SEC "Bukhti" of the Gunib district of Dagestan Republic on ewes of the Dagestan rock, aged from 3 to 5 years, with subclinical mastitis, in the amount of 51 heads. Animals on the basis of analogues were divided into two groups: experience (n = 26), control (n = 25). The animals of the experimental group were treated with thiacycline, the drug was administered intramuscularly, once a day, in dose 0.1 ml/kg. The test combination drug thiacycline developed by VIC. The control group was treated with bicillin-3, in dose 600,000 units per head, with an interval 72 hours.Results. The complex antibacterial drug thiacycline has a wide spectrum and high antimicrobial effect against museum strains and potential causative agents of sheep mastitis. The therapeutic efficacy of thiacycline in the treatment of subclinical mastitis in sheep – 97.0%, which is on 13.0% higher compared to bicillin-3. On the 7th day after the last administratin of preparation all the physicochemical parameters of milk corresponded to the physiological norm.

Nanomedicine is an emerging field, which constitutes a new direction in the treatment of cancer. The advent of nanotechnology has the potential to greatly facilitate the early detection and treatment of cancer. Nanocarriers are a group of nano-sized vehicles devised to deliver loaded bioactive(s) to target malignant cells, tissues or organs and have provided remarkably improved therapeutic efficacy for cancer therapy. A variety of nanocarriers(s)such as dendrimers, nanoparticle(s), liposomes, micelles, gold carriers, solid lipid carriers, carbon nanotubes, magnetic carriers and viral carriers, incorporating cytotoxic therapeutics have emerged as striking delivery system(s) in the area of cancer research. To improve the biological distribution of therapeutic bioactive(s), some modified carriers have designed to accommodate efficient loading and release of drugs with a wide spectrum of chemical and physical characteristics. In addition, physicochemical modifications of the surface or interior of NPs allow for modulation of pharmacokinetic features as per clinical demands. However, cancer-related mortality still remains high and drug-mediated cancer treatment is a challenging research field despite the remarkable advances in targeting efficiency and therapeutic efficacy demonstrated and resulted from NPs.This review focuses primarily on current nano drug delivery systems for cancer therapy. The current challenges related to therapeutic nanomedicines, as well as critical analysis of the different delivery nanoparticles, are also discussed.

Purpose Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is associated with a wide spectrum of clinical symptoms including acute respiratory failure. Biomarkers that can predict outcomes in patients with COVID-19 can assist with patient management. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether procalcitonin (PCT) can predict clinical outcome and bacterial superinfection in patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Methods Adult patients diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 by nasopharyngeal PCR who were admitted to a tertiary care center in Boston, MA with SARS-CoV-2 infection between March 17 and April 30, 2020 with a baseline PCT value were studied. Patients who were presumed positive for SARS-CoV-2, who lacked PCT levels, or who had a positive urinalysis with negative cultures were excluded. Demographics, clinical and laboratory data were extracted from the electronic medical records. Results 324 patient charts were reviewed and grouped by clinical and microbiologic outcomes by day 28. Baseline PCT levels were significantly higher for patients who were treated for true bacteremia (p = 0.0005) and bacterial pneumonia (p = 0.00077) compared with the non-bacterial infection group. Baseline PCT positively correlated with the NIAID ordinal scale and survival over time. When compared to other inflammatory biomarkers, PCT showed superiority in predicting bacteremia. Conclusions Baseline PCT levels are associated with outcome and bacterial superinfection in patients hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2.

Short-form versions of the Screening Test of Spanish Grammar (Toronto, 1973) and the Northwestern Syntax Screening Test (Lee, 1971) were devised for use with bilingual Latino children while preserving the original normative data. Application of a multiple regression technique to data collected on 60 lower social status Latino children (four years and six months to seven years and one month) from Spanish Harlem and Yonkers, New York, yielded a small but powerful set of predictor items from the Spanish and English tests. Clinicians may make rapid and accurate predictions of STSG or NSST total screening scores from administration of substantially shortened versions of the instruments. Case studies of Latino children from Chicago and Miami serve to cross-validate the procedure outside the New York metropolitan area.
