ABTRACT The aim of this research was to know the effect of paci-paci (L. lavandulaefolia) powder addition in feed suplemented for 14 days to the prevent A. hydrophila infection Pangasius sp. The research was conducted on August-September 2016 in Laboratorium Kolam Percobaan Budidaya Perairan, Aquaculture Study Program, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University and hematocrite examination was conducted in PMI Palembang. The research based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications. The fish was injected by A. hydrophila with density of 1,7x108 cfu.mL-1. The Pangasius sp. has been reared for 30 days and fed with pellet enriched  with 8%, 10%, 12 % and 14% Leucas lavandulaefolia  powder. Feeding frequency was four times a day. The parameters observed on this research were prevalence, hematocrite, survival, growth and water quality. The result showed that the addition the Laucas lavandulaefolia powder in feed effect on prevalence, survival rate and patin fish growth. The treatment that produced the best prevention was the addition of 12% Leucas lavandulaefolia powder in feed which produced 28.07% prevalence, 85.00% survival rate and 1.11 cm absolute length growth. Keywords: A. hydrophila, Pangasius sp, Dosage, Leucas lavandulaefolia,

The aim of this study was to determine the growth and survival rate of Ctenopoma fish seeds. This study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this study was a different feeding rate using natural feed of Tubifex sp  namely A (8%), B (10%), and C (12%) ). The test fish used was Ctenopoma fish seeds with an initial length of 2.40 ± 0.10 cm and an initial weight of 0.32 ± 0.05 g. Fish seeds are cultivated  for 28 days with feeding frequency twice a day. The results of research showed that the use of different feeding rate had an significantly different (P<0.05) on the specific growth  rate and absolute length growth with the best results in the treatment C. The survival rate was not significantly different between treatments (P>0.05). Key Words: Ctenopoma, feeding rate, growth, survival rate

This research aims to determine the growth and survival rate of Giant Freshwater Prawns and Nilem fish are reared in polyculture system with different of stocking density of Nilem fish. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications were used in this experiment, the different stocking density of Nilem fish as a treatments were as followed: A) 25 fish / m2; B) 50 fish / m2; and C) 75fish / m2 while stocking density of Giant Freshwater Prawn was 20 prawn / m2 for all treatmets. Culture period was 3 months, the waste of fish was maintaned using media filter (physical and biological) in recirculation system. The parameters such as survival, growth, and water quality were observed. The results of this study were consisted of survival rate and growth. The survival rate  of Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 59,76% (A), and the lowest was 44,29% (C), while Nilem fish the highest was 65% (A), and the lowest was 43.56% (C). The results of fish growth consist of absolute length, absolute weight and SGR. Absolute length of Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 3.09 cm (A), and the lowest was 2.38 cm (C). Nilem fish the highest was 8.63 cm (A),  and the lowest was 6.28 cm (C). The absolute weight of  Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 8.83 g (A), and the lowest was 5.94 g (C). Nilem fish the ighest was 10.02 g (A), and the lowest was 4.49 g (C), SGR of Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 1.71% (A), and the lowest was 1.33% (C). Nilem fish the highest was 9.56% (A),and the lowest was 8.31% (C). Based on these data,  A treatment was the best where according to ANOVA and Tukey's test revealed that A treratment showed significantly different (P<0.05) from B and C treatments Key words: Nilem fish, stocking density, polyculture, Giant Freshwater Prawn

ABSTRACTOne of problem on snakehead culture is lower value of survival and growth because of disease occurence. The aim of this research was to know the effect of different feeding time duration on survival and growth rate of snakehead fed by black cumin challenged by A.hydrophila. This research conducted from August until September 2015 in Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments and three replications : P1(fed without black cumin during 30 days no challenged), P2 (fed without black cumin during 30 days challenged by A. hydrophila), P3 (fed contain black cumin during 30 days no challenged), P4 (fed contain black cumin during 30 days challenged by A. hydrophila), P5 (fed contain black cumin during 21 days challenged by A. hydrophila), P6 (fed contain black cumin during 14 days challenged by A.hydrophila), and P7 (fed contain black cumin during 30 days challenged by A. hydrophila). The result of the research showed that snakehead fed by black cumin during 14 days (P6) challenged by A. hydrophila showed the highest value of survival rate, and growth, each sequentially were 93.33%, 5.28 g, and 1.32 cm. Keywords : snakehead, black cumin, survival rate, growth

This study aimed to determine the effect of commercial feeding (pellets) on the growth and viability of Betok fish (Anabas testudineus). The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Water Quality and Aquatic Biology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, University of Tadulako Palu, from November to December 2019. This study was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. Treatment A (feeding 2×/day), B (feeding 3×/day), C (feeding 4×/day) and D (feeding 5×/day). The results showed that feeding with different frequencies did not affect the growth in absolute weight and absolute length of Betok fish (Anabas testudineus). The growth of the absolute weight of Betok fish that was reared for one month ranged from 2.05-2.38 g, while the absolute length growth of the betok fish ranged from 0.345-0.42 cm. The highest growth in absolute weight and the absolute length was found at the feeding frequency of 2×/day (A). The survival rate of Betok fish (Anabas testudineus) reared for one month is 100%. During the research, water quality, it was still around the optimum range of betok fish growth.

The semah fish (Tor douronensis) is an Indonesian endemic fish that has a long growth, which takes 4 years to grow from larvae to broodstock. This study aims know of Daphnia sp. pelet fed with effective doses to increase the growth of semah’s fish larvae. The study was conducted from March 25 to April 13, 2020 at the Instalasi Riset Plasma Nutfah, Cijeruk, Bogor, West Java. The experimental design used completely randomized design (CRD) 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely treatment A (Daphnia sp.+pelet feed 0 gr/ L), treatment B (Daphnia sp.+ pelet feed 1 gr / L), treatment C (Daphnia sp. + pelet feed 2 gr / L), treatment D (Daphnia sp. + pelet feed 3 gr / L). The larvae of 9 days in age were randomly stocked into 12 aquariums measuring 60x30x35 cm with a density of 50 fish/aquarium and fed in the form of Daphnia sp. enriched pelet feed according to the treatment of 50 ind/larvae by giving 3 times a day which is maintained for 20 days. The test parameters measured are absolute growth in length and weight, survival rate, and water quality. Based on the results of statistical analysis (Anova), the results showed that the treatment D gave the highest influence on the growth of semah’s fish larvae (P <0.05) with an absolute weight growth value of 85,3 mg, absolute length growth of 10.6 mm, and survival rate 99.33%.

ABSTRACT Feed management was a key factor influencing fish growth. One of the method that could be applied was the fish growth. The study aimed to determine the best of feeding frequency in rearing of gouramy fry. This research was conducted in February-March 2018 at Experimental Ponds Laboratorium of Aquculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a Randomized Completed Design (RCD) which consisted of four treatments and three replications, i.e provision of feed 2 times a day (P1), 3 times a day (P2), 4 times a day (P3), and 5 times a day (P4). The results showed that P3 (4 times a day) give the best values with the absolute weight, absolute length, feed efficiency and survival rate were 1.25 g, 1.63 cm, 90.86% and 98.89% respectively. The water quality parameters measured were temperature (26-29 oC), pH (6,5-6,7), dissolved oxygen (4,1-4,9 mg.L-1), and ammonia (0,03-0,011 mg.L-1).Keywords : Feed, Feeding frequency, Gourami fry, Growth

ABSTRACT Fitoremediation is one of water quality management system by using water plant such as Hydrilla verticillata that is purposed to decrease organic materials. This research was conducted at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University,Indralaya on May – July 2016. The research based on a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications. The treatments were media without H. verticillata (P0), addition of H. verticillata as much as 85 ± 10 g (P1), 110 ± 10 g (P2) and 135 ± 10 g (P3). The parameters were water quality, survival rate and specific growth rate of catfish. The data were analyzed by regressions analysis, analysis of variance and least significant diference test. The result showed that the addition of H. verticillata could improved water quality. The treatment of addition ofH. verticillata as much as 135 ± 10 g (P3) has highest survival rate 95.49 %, spesific growth rate for length 1.53 %.day-1 and weight 5.25 %.day-1. Keywords: Catfish,  Hydrilla verticillata, Phytoremediation, Water Quality

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the addition of pumpkin flour (C. moschata D.) and papaya flour (C.  papaya) to feed to increase the brightness of the  gold fish (C. auratus) color. The method used is an experimental method with a completely randomized design, consisting of four treatments and three replications of P0 0% (Control), P1 10% , P2 20%, P3 30%. Research parameters include carotenoid analysis, hunter’s color test, absolute weight growth, absolute specific growth, absolute length growth , FCR, EPP, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that the addition of a mixture of pumpkin flour and papaya flour in the goldfish can affect the value of feed conversion, feed afficiency, survival rate, carotenoid content and the brightness of the goldfish color on the value of a* (redness), b* (yellowness) and Huebut it does not affect the value of L* (lightness) and the growth of the goldfish

The thyroxine has been known as a hormone that can increase fish growth especially in the larvae stage. The provision of hormone thyroxine on larvae fish can be conducted through dipping. Determination of dipping time are very important to increase growth. The purposes of this research are determining the optimum dipping time for the growth and survival rate of snakehead larvae. This research was done at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya. The method used Competely Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and three replicates, with dipping time are 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36 hours. The parameters observed are the absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, survival rate of larvae and water quality (temperature, pH and disolved oxygen). The results showed that the duration of immersion in thyroxine hormone solution in snakehead larvae showed relatively faster growth on treatment (P5) with 36 hours of dipping time. While the regression test result showed the optimal growth of snakehead larvae at the time immersion for 27,92 – 29,49 hours. Thyroxine hormone increased the growth of snakehead larvae but has no statistically significant effect. The length of time of thyroxine hormone 24-36 hours with a dosage of 0.1 mg l-1 did not affect the survival of snakehead larvae. Water quality of maintenance media is still tolerance for supporting the growth and survival of snakehead larvae.

The tailing pond of bauxite post-mining in Senggarang, Tanjungpinang City, have been potency of natural feed sources from phytoplankton and zooplankton. Moreover, the water quality of the tailing pond of bauxite post-mining has begun to support fish life. The objective of this study was to determine the survival rate and growth of economical fish in tailings ponds of bauxite post-mining in Senggarang, Tanjungpinang. The research was conducted by field experiment using a completely randomized design. There were different fish varieties as treatment: tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy), and tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum). Every treatment was  carried out 5 replications, with 6 fish in every cage replication. Monitoring the water quality and the fish survival on the 0th, 10th, 20th and 30th days. The survival of economical fishes in tailing ponds of bauxite post-mining from the highest to lowest were tambaqui (97%), tilapia (83%), and gouramy (40%), respectively. The growth of fishes length from the highest to the lowest were gouramy (0,223 cm), tambaqui (0,037 cm), and tilapia (0,018 cm). Meanwhile, all variety of fish tested had a decreased in weigh: gouramy -0,2310 grams, tilapia -0,4281 grams, and tambaqui -1,3498 grams. The management of tailing ponds of bauxite post-mining in Senggarang for fisheries activities can be carried out by tambaqui (C. macropomum) culture cage with several conditions such as measurement of carrying capacity and capacity, management of water quality, feed, and technical aspects of culture.Keywords: bauxite, economical fish, growth, survival rate, tailing ponds
