Self-esteem as a psychosocial factor that is likely to foretell outcomes like academics, happiness, marital satisfaction and relationships is also a construct that could lead to marital success and happiness. This study examined secondary school teachers’ self-esteem as a determinant of their marital adjustment in Anambra state. Three research questions were posed to guide the study while one null hypothesis was tested at a 0.05 level of significance. A correlational research design was adopted for the study. A sample size of 1,408 married teachers was drawn from a population of 6,987 married teachers. A multi-stage sampling procedure was followed in selecting the study sample. Two instruments: The marital Adjustment Scale (MAS), and Self- Esteem Scale (SES) were used for data collection. The instruments were duly validated by experts in measurement and evaluation and Guidance and Counselling. The reliability coefficient was established thus; 0.85 for the Self-esteem questionnaire, and 0.74 for the Marital Adjustment Questionnaire. Data was collected through a direct delivery approach and was analysed using SPSS version 23. Range of aggregate scores and Pearson correlation coefficients were used to answer research questions and while a t-test was used to test the hypotheses. Findings of the study showed among others there is a non-significant very low positive relationship existing between married teachers’ Self-esteem and their marital adjustment in secondary schools in Anambra State. Based on the study’s findings, it was suggested, among other things, that school Guidance Counsellors organise workshops and seminars for married teachers aimed at fostering healthy self-esteem for successful marital adjustment. AbstractThe study investigated the availability and utilization of ICT resources in the teaching of Computer Education among Secondary School Teachers in Anambra State. Two research questions guided the study. The population consisted of 450 computer teachers teaching computer education in the schools. From the population, 300 computer teachers were sampled and used for the study. The instrument for data collection was a self-developed 40 – item questionnaire. It was validated by experts and the reliability co-efficient stood at 0.79. The data collected were analysed using frequencies and percentages. The findings revealed that many of the ICT resources needed for the teaching of computer education are not available. It was also revealed that majority of the resources needed for the teaching of computer education are not being used by the teachers. In view of the findings, recommendations were made.

This study examined forms, risk factors and health hazards of domestic violence among married secondary school teachers in Anambra State. Four research questions and four hypothesis guided the study. The study used a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised 2600 married teachers (male and female) in all secondary schools owned by Anambra State. The sample consisted of 1080 married teachers in secondary schools in Anambra State. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled Domestic Violence Questionnaire (DVQ). The DVQ was validated by experts in measurement and evaluation as health education. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was 0.947. Mean and standard deviation statistics were used to answer the research questions. T-test and ANOVA were used to test null hypotheses at .05 level of significance. The findings revealed among others that forms of domestic violence such as physical injuries, depression, abortion and others exist among married secondary school teachers in Anambra State. Risk factors of domestic violence such as low self-esteem, economic stress, unhealthy family relationship, distrust, sexual dissatisfaction and others exist among married teachers in secondary schools in Anambra State. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that, health educators should provide a platform to educate married teachers in various secondary schools on the need to avoid domestic violence so as to have a peaceful environment at home. Married teachers should endeavour to learn and understand each other as this will enable them avoid any form of violence at home. Sustainable development is a process occurring on several levels, which placed the expectations on educational institutions, especially secondary schools, change radically. Schools, therefore, are gradually likely to emphasize enhanced and sustainable teaching practices under the agenda of the United Nations 2030, sustainable future. Hence, the job-oriented development of teachers is a critical factor of the school leadership mechanism. Considering this, the present empirical research was designed to study the mechanism of path-goal theory (PGT) to sustain teachers’ job-oriented development in private secondary schools in Pakistan. The viewpoint of teachers, whose job performance is ultimately affected by the school leadership behavior and who perform the job at the front line in schools, was taken on board for the investigation. A total of 2469 secondary school teachers from 785 private secondary schools participated in the present study. Confirmatory factor analysis, t-test, Pearson correlation, and path analysis structural equation modeling analytics were mainly involved in the data analysis. Overall, the findings substantiated the constructive PGT mechanism, especially indicating that directive leadership is the most influential and effective leadership behavior in complex tasks, including when teachers are inexperienced. Moreover, the helpful role of supportive leadership and achievement-oriented leadership behaviors backs up the directive behavior. Although participative leadership behavior was problematic in the studied schools, it should be constructively adopted, as it was found to be a statistically significant predictor. Therefore, training programs for school leaders with good experience in participatory leadership functions can be productive for long-term teachers’ motivation. The literature shows that several secondary school teachers still perform poorly because of inadequate leadership, and the viewpoint of teachers on PGT was ignored in earlier studies. Hence, there was a dire need to conduct this research to address these concerns, especially in the non-Western, Asian context. In addition to pioneering academic research on leadership PGT in the secondary school context, the PGT elements were investigated, including teachers’ extrinsic and intrinsic motivation for the first time, adding new understanding about the theory.

Marriages being a legal union between a man and a woman that is supposed to produce a satisfactory relationship in which the couple involved can experience marital satisfaction. This study sought to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and marital satisfaction of married teachers in Anambra state. Three research questions were formulated to guide the study while one null hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance. Correlational research design was used in conducting the study. A sample size of 1,344 married teachers was drawn from a population of 6,987 married teachers in Anambra state public secondary schools. A multi-stage sampling procedure was followed selecting the sample. Two instruments: General Self-efficacy Scale and Index of Marital Satisfaction (IMS) were adopted and used for data collection. The instruments are standardised measures and have the following reliability coefficient; 0.96 for IMS, 0.87 and for GSS. Data was collected through direct delivery approach. Data collected were analysed using SPSS version 23. Pearson correlation coefficients and regression analysis were used to answer research questions and test the hypotheses. Findings of the study showed among others that there is very low or no relationship existing between married teachers’ Self-efficacy belief and their marital satisfaction. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended, among others that counselors interested in marriage therapy should empower married teachers to follow behaviour and activities that foster marital happiness through occasional lectures and counselling sessions. <p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0796/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

The teaching occupation and the essential tasks and duties of teachers are necessary for developing every nation's human resources. The teachers are the pillar of our country, and without them, the standard of our education will suffer since teachers are the nearest to the human mind and are prime drivers of economic development. Therefore, educational administration and organizational factors play a pivotal role in making teachers motivated and satisfied to sustain their academic institutions' jobs and should focus on switching jobs frequently. This study examined the association between organizational and teacher retention in eight private secondary schools in Lyari town Karachi, Sindh Pakistan. The study formulated three objectives and hypotheses. The research design was a correlation—the population of the study comprised of teachers from schools. A random sampling technique was used, and a questionnaire was distributed among 200 teachers to collect data. Data were gathered using an instrument that was self-made with the help of literature reviewed and experts' suggestions. The questionnaire was validated and piloted. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient was determined. Ensure the reliability at 0.85, respectively. The Pearson correlation statistic was used to test the hypotheses. The findings reveal significant relationships between teachers' salary packages, teachers' workload, professional development opportunities, and teachers' retention in schools. Further, the study's findings reveal that educational administration and management align with government compensation policies regarding teachers' salaries and promotions and focus on their teaching workload and other fringe benefits.

The present research work aimed at finding out the difference between secondary and higher secondary school teachers on Self-esteem. For this purpose a total sample of 240 school teachers. Among them 120 secondary and 120 higher secondary school teachers. Data was collected by using Self-esteem scale developed by “Roseberry,(1965)”. Results were analyzed by using F- Anova. Results revealed that there is no significant difference between secondary and higher secondary school teachers on Self-esteem.
