As of late, the endeavors of numerous associations have been guided towards methodologies to improve the commitment of people to the general achievement of the association. A number of authors have explored the links between various aspects of Human Resources Management practices and their impact on employee effectiveness. Likewise it is very much acknowledged that HRM is emphatically identified with authoritative and worker implementation, however a lot of intrigue has made progress on understanding the connection among HRM and execution in the Indian setting. This paper attempts to examine the extent to which the variables of performance management systems are associated with employee attitudes and especially retention. In this study both quantitative and qualitative methods is being utilized, based on the information obtained from Literature review, structured questionnaire were carried out for data collection from 200 employees in four organizations, which are statistically analyzed. The results indicate most of the elements of performance management is positively and significantly correlated with retention. The development and expansion of knowledge management as an important management philosophy has a significant impact on human resources management as well as on organization as a whole. In this context, knowledge management processes have been used as a strategic tool within human resources management.Therefore, functions of human resources management must adapt itself to this change. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of human resources management in the management of knowledge and to reveal the effects of knowledge management practices on the functions of human resources byexamining the relationship between human resources and knowledge management. In this context, a theoretical investigation was conducted. It has been determined that significant changes occurred on the functions of human resources management such as selection and recruitment, performance management, remuneration and reward, training and development within the framework of the knowledge management strategies.



Human resource management is constantly evolving into a technology-based service provider to their employees. In today’s organizations, employees see the face of HR as an Intranet portal rather than a human on the other side. This transformation of Human Resource services through technology is now being coined as E-HRM or electronic human resource. The Use of E-HRM in today’s Organizations, are in many function areas such as training and development, performance management systems, hiring and employee self-service. Organisations who adopt HR technology tools outperform those that do not. Interestingly early on the HR department was the last recipient of IT benefits in any organization, it started from keeping the database of the employees. In the present scenario employees are considered as the strategic partners of the organization and the use of high-end software have changed the face of HR departments and a new term has been coined as E-HRM. This present paper tries to evaluate the role of E-HRM in IT companies and also to measure the acceptance and effectiveness of the same at the different levels of management.

Assessment and measurement of performance in academic libraries are well established. However, in developing countries such as Brazil, this has not been fully explored. This study aims to contribute to the knowledge by investigating practices of measuring library performance in Brazilian public academic libraries and analyzing their relationship with managerial processes. It employs a survey method with a descriptive-explanatory objective and follows a quantitative research approach. Data was gathered from 149 libraries. Results indicate that performance measurement system at academic libraries in Brazil lack systematic methods. However, libraries with implemented performance management systems have better management practices, reflecting in their library management maturity.

This chapter introduces the framework and causal model of leadership style, organizational culture, performance management practices, and organizational performance. It argues that dimensions of leadership style, organizational culture, and performance management practices have mediated positive effect on organizational performance. Performance management practices positively mediate the relationships between leadership style and organizational performance and between organizational culture and organizational performance. Leadership style is positively correlated with organizational culture. Understanding the theoretical learning is positively beneficial for organizations aiming to increase organizational performance and achieve business goals.

The chapter aims to develop a theoretical configurational model of HRM practices for family firms based on the construct of awareness. The typology of ideal HRM practices configurations the authors developed grounds on are 1) two organizational factors (awareness of the internal and external environment and organizational awareness) and 2) two dimensions of organizational awareness (the need for explicit and implicit coordination mechanisms). The first dimension refers to the need for mechanisms explicitly adopted by a family firm to manage task or communication interdependencies. The second one relates to those requirements for mechanisms that are available to family firms from shared cognition, which enable them to explain and anticipate task statuses and individuals' collaborative behaviors, thus helping them in managing task interdependencies. The authors combined these results in four configurations of HRM practices (administrative, shared, professional, and integrated configurations) and developed seven propositions.

With the rise of social entrepreneurship, social enterprises have gained popularity as socially innovative organizations which try to balance their economic and social missions. In the competitive environment of social economy, good management and investment in human resources have become requirements of social enterprises for their survival. Among the management practices, human resources management acts as a tool for gaining competitive advantage and it builds mutual trust between the staff and the organization. Purpose This paper aims to investigate current trends in selected management systems and analyses their mutual synergy effects to remaster contemporary enterprise performance management systems in the business sphere. Design/methodology/approach This research involves assembling key academic texts and other literature on the subject of changes in management systems worldwide and their influence on remastering contemporary enterprise performance management systems. The literature is reviewed using a systematic approach. More than 3,000 papers and studies are identified and content analysed. Findings The main trends and emerging themes of management practices in the current business world and their synergy effects are identified, reviewed and classified. Originality/value The field of performance management systems and their remastering based on individual corporate needs is an emergent area of study. This paper is relevant to academics, as well as the corporate world, because it introduces summarized results from an extensive number of published studies on the topic of trends in current management systems, their mutual synergy effects and their influence on performance management systems.
