This small pamphlet is packed full of sound principles about child development and behavior, and gives many clues to the better management of the so-called behavior problems that beset parents, teachers and pediatricians so overwhelmingly today. Although it was written for parents and teachers primarily, this material may serve the pediatrician as well, as a primer on child psychology. The authors present their material briefly, in simple English with apt illustrations. The construction of the paragraphs facilitates further ease of reading and grasp of information.

Abstract During the Covid-19 pandemic, the government through the Ministry of Law and Human Rights reviewed the policy through Permenkumham No 10 in 2020 regarding the release of assimilation and the executive order making the child the perpetrator of this crime many were released. This makes bapas must improve the implementation of the development of the freed child. The problem in this study is how to optimize BAPAS in the implementation of child development as the perpetrator of crimes that are released because of Covid-19 and the obstacles faced by bapas in the implementation of the construction. The purpose of this study is to know how to optimize BAPAS in the development of children as perpetrators of crimes that are released because of Covid-19 and know the obstacles faced by bapas in the implementation of the construction of children as perpetrators of the crime struck. The research method used is normative juridical using secondary data obtained through literature studies such as scientific books, journals, laws. Hal tersebut membuat pihak Balai Pemasyarakatan harus meningkatkan pelaksanaan pembinaan terhadap anak yang dibebaskan tersebut. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana optimalisasi Balai Pemasyarakatan dalam pelaksanaan pembinaan anak sebagai pelaku tindak pidana yang dibebaskan karena Covid-19 dan kendala yang dihadapi pihak Balai Pemasyarakatan dalam pelaksanaan pembinaan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana optimalisasi Balai Pemasyarakatan dalam pelaksaan pembinaan anak sebagai pelaku tindak pidana yang dibebaskan karena Covid-19 dan mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi pihak Balai Pemasyarakatan dalam pelaksanaan pembinaan terhadap anak sebagai pelaku tindak pidana yang dibebaskan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah yuridis normatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh melalui studi kepustakaan seperti buku-buku ilmiah, jurnal, undang-undang. Early childhood is a period that is associated with the development process of children. It was determined that physical, motor, cognitive, language, emotional and social development, which was created in accordance with the characteristics of the developmental period of children in the early childhood, did not change much direction in later ages, the improvement in the same direction was higher. In the early childhood, children begin to learn the rules of society limited to their own environment. They understand language and show great development. Socialization and gender awareness begin to form. The researches revealed that behaviors and attitudes gained during this period shape the habits, attitudes, beliefs, value judgments and personality traits of the individual when they are adults. In this section, the changes in physical, motor, cognitive, language, emotional-social development of the first childhood are examined.

This causal-comparative study investigated the effects of child labour on academic achievement of primary school pupils in Suba and Homa-Bay districts in Kenya. The participants of this study were Class 7 pupils drawn from 12 schools in these two districts. A total of 333 pupils that is, 171 boys and 162 girls participated in the study. The academic achievement scores, which were extracted from the schools’ end-term examination records, were used to compare the participants on the dependent variable. The results of this study showed that pupils who were involved in child labour had a significantly lower academic achievement mean score than those not involved. The results also indicated that boys not involved had a significantly higher academic achievement mean score than girls not involved. Furthermore, boys involved in child labour activities had a significantly higher academic mean score than girls involved in child labour activities. It was concluded that there were child labour and gender effects on academic achievement of primary school pupils in Suba and Homa Bay districts. This study recommends that school pupils should not engage in fishing activities.   Key Words; Child labour, Academic Achievement, Gender
