The relationship of the Industry 4.0 concept with cyber-physical systems and digital twins is described. The analysis of the capabilities of modern information systems of discrete and continuous production for the creation of digital twins of production is presented. The stages of creating a digital twin of production are proposed, taking into account the requirements of standards for the development of automated control systems for continuous technological processes. Using the use case diagram, the functionality and requirements for the subsystems of the information system are determined. The architecture of the information system for managing the life cycle of a continuous technological process was developed.

PurposeThe blockchain-based digital twin has been recognized as a prominent technological ecosystem featuring synergies with both established and emergent information management practice. The purpose of this research is to explore the applicability, interoperability and integrability of a blockchain-based digital twin for asset life cycle management and develop a model of framework which positions the digital twin within a broader context of current management practice and technological availability.Design/methodology/approachA systematic literature review was performed to map use cases of digital twin, IoT, blockchain and smart contract technologies. Surveys of industry professionals and analyses were conducted focussing on the mapped use cases' life cycle–centric applicability, interoperability and integrability with current asset life cycle management practice, exploring decision support capabilities and industry insights. Lastly, a model of framework was developed based on the use case, interoperability and integrability findings.FindingsThe results support approaching digitization initiatives with blockchain-based digital twins and the positioning of the concept as both a strategic tool and a multifunctional on-field support application. Integrability enablers include progression towards BIM level 3, decentralized program hubs, modular cross-technological platform interfaces, as well as mergeable and scalable blockchains.Practical implicationsKnowledge of use cases help highlight the functionality of an integrated technological ecosystem and its connection to comprehensive sets of asset life cycle management aspects. Exploring integrability enablers contribute to the development of management practice and solution development as user expectations and technological prerequisites are interlinked.Originality/valueThe research explores asset life cycle management use cases, interoperability and integrability enablers of blockchain-based digital twins and positions the technological ecosystem within current practice and technological availability.

The article highlights the aspects of risk management in the information system. According to the analysis of the work of Russian and foreign scientists and world practices in the field of risk management, it is stated that there is a need to improve the effectiveness of risk management of information system and to develop a method for managing the risks of the information system. As a solution to the problem of effective risk management of the information system, there has been proposed a formalized procedure for managing the risks of the information system. The scientific novelty of this solution is the use of decision space and optimization space to reduce risks. This procedure allows to assess the damage, risk and effectiveness of risk management of the information system. The risks of the information system are determined and analyzed; a pyramidal risk diagram is developed. This diagram allows you to describe the relationship of risks with the components of the information system. The negative consequences to which these risks can lead are given. The analysis of methods and approaches to risk management has been carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, the methods GRAMM, CORAS, GOST R ISO / IEC scored to the maximum. The weak points of these methods and the difficulty of applying these methods in practice are described. The developed formalized risk management procedure to control the risks of information system can be used as management system’s element of the information security quality that complies with the recommendations of GOST R ISO / IEC 27003-2012. The prospect of further development of the research results is the development of management systems of risk of information system.

With the advent of technology in the workplace, the applicability of the human resource information system (HRIS) within organizations has gained momentum widely. Indeed, employees' perceptions towards human resource information system has changed gradually. Human resource information system is influencing employees' work activities to such an extent that it has become imperative precedence for organizations' to maintain HRIS quality. Keeping this in the background, the study aims to examine the relationship of HRIS system quality, HRIS information quality, HRIS service quality, and HRIS perceived usefulness in determining HRIS system use and its users' satisfaction. Further, the study also aims to analyze the relationship of HRIS system use and HRIS users' satisfaction in determining HRIS success in Indian organizations. A sample of 116 HR staffs and managers working in IT-enabled service sector from National Capital Region (India) has been taken for step-wise regression analyses. The findings of the study revealed that HRIS service quality and perceived usefulness showed a significant positive relationship with HRIS system use. The results also revealed that HRIS system quality and perceived usefulness showed a significant positive relationship with users' satisfaction. Further, the findings also revealed that HRIS system use and HRIS users' satisfaction has a significant relationship with HRIS success.

The alignment of ontologies is the backbone of semantic interoperability. It facilitates the import of data from an ontology to another, translating queries between them or merging ontologies in a global one. However, these services cannot be guaranteed throughout the life cycle of the ontology. The problem is that the evolution of mapped ontologies may be affected and make obsolete the relationship of the mapping. Inspired by belief revision theory, the authors identify and formalize the constraints and requirements of the alignment evolution problem. Then they give an orchestration of designed operations to resolve the problem. The satisfaction of these constraints and requirements is discussed for each operation showing its strengths and weaknesses. Finally, the authors conduct an experimental process with the objective to show the limits of alignment evolution methods and ontology matching tools when dealing with alignment evolution problem highlighting the emergency to invest in dedicated methods.

ABSTRACTWhile extensive modelling - both physical and virtual - is imperative to develop right-first-time products, the parallel use of virtual and physical models gives rise to two interrelated issues: the lack of revision control for physical prototypes; and the need for designers to manually inspect, measure, and interpret modifications to either virtual or physical models, for subsequent update of the other. The Digital Twin paradigm addresses similar problems later in the product life-cycle, and while these digital twins, or the “twinning” process, have shown significant value, there is little work to date on their implementation in the earlier design stages. With large prospective benefits in increased product understanding, performance, and reduced design cycle time and cost, this paper explores the concept of using the Digital Twin in early design, including an introduction to digital twinning, examination of opportunities for and challenges of their implementation, a presentation of the structure of Early Stage Twins, and evaluation via two implementation cases.

Based on the data collected from cities, this paper analyzes the conditions of tourism location of provinces and autonomous regions. For the method, this paper uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and statistical analysis methods to try to analyze tourism geographic conditions from the relationship of tourism industrial location and Chinese arterial highway location, so as to provide a reference for the development of regional tourism.

The life cycle of Pseudobilharziella querquedulae McLeod, 1937 has been completed experimentally and the relationship of the adult to Cercaria physella Talbot, 1936 has been definitely established. The female of the species and the eggs were recovered and are described for the first time. A report is given on the exposure of a number of species of molluscs to the miracidia of this schistosome and notes on the life cycle and adult stage of Cercaria dermolestes McLeod, 1940 are included. A case of hypersensitiveness in man to the proteins of schistosome cercariae is reported.

This chapter examines the relationship of environmental law to public and constitutional law. More specifically, it considers ‘points of interactions’ between public and constitutional law and environmental law and shows that these points of interaction are found throughout the ‘life cycle’ of environmental law. The chapter explores the ways in which environmental law is shaped by rules and doctrines of public and constitutional law, first by discussing policy and law-making in the administrative state. It then analyses constitutional environmental norms and their functions, the local and domestic context of constitutional environmental provisions, the non-constitutional points of interaction between environmental law and public and constitutional law, and how the form and content of environmental law are shaped by domestic structures of government (and governance). The chapter concludes with an assessment of the impact of environmental law on public and constitutional law.

The bimodal character of stocks is demonstrated when they are classified according to their style. Stocks are often assigned, on the basis of some valuation parameter, uniquely as either value or growth even though, over time, changes in a stock’s-growth probability should trace the evolution of the corporate life cycle. This study is concerned with investigating the relationship of that probability to market cycles. Two hundred and eighty eight stocks from the ASEAN are tracked over an eight-year period. The percentages of those, on a monthly basis, that are in the top quintile of EPS growth, as well as the top quintile of major value (current) styles are calculated. Using multidimensional scaling, the study concludes that the degree of differentiation between growth and value rises as the market declines, and that styles are purer at the bottom than at the top of the market cycle.
