Maintaining the moderation of Islam in Indonesia is a must because it is a command of the Qur'an. Didin Hafidhuddin said; Moderate does not mean that all religions are equal in line with the Ministry of Religion and MUI. Collaborative Cadre of Moderate Missionaries Muhammadiyah moderate and not excessive "Not too right (extreme) and not too left (liberal). This group of moderate wasathons or Muslims, in Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja) terms are called sawadh al-a'zham, or the largest group, the Aswaja group. It is this group that is embraced by most Muslims in Indonesia, which has so far maintained the country's sovereignty. The trend that is being echoed in the world today is the enthusiasm of Muslims to maintain this moderation, namely moderate Islam. So it is important, because it is too right (extreme) to only see things from a black and white, halal and haram angle, which sometimes when applied in a pluralistic society is not quite right, "sure the goals of all Islamic groups in Indonesia are the same, but when delivered in a way right and more flexible, it is felt to have more impact compared to the extreme values ​​of moderation of Islam that is actually what is currently needed by the world and needs to be used as a reference for sawad al-a'zham or the Muslim group, Aswaja and this is very in accordance with The Koran commands The problem is that there are opinions of Muslims who think that if there is something that is not in accordance with Islam, everything needs to be replaced, even though there are principles of fiqh that view the business and its way, as long as the benefits for Muslims must be accepted.

This study deals with Universal Values and Muslim Democracy. This essay draws upon speeches that he gave at the New York Democ- racy Forum in December 2005 and the Assembly of the World Movement for Democracy in Istanbul in April 2006. The emergence of Muslim democracies is something significant and worthy of our attention. Yet with the clear exceptions of Indonesia and Turkey, the Muslim world today is a place where autocracies and dictatorships of various shades and degrees continue their parasitic hold on the people, gnawing away at their newfound freedoms. It concludes that the human desire to be free and to lead a dignified life is universal. So is the abhorrence of despotism and oppression. These are passions that motivate not only Muslims but people from all civilizations.

Salman Rushdie remains a major Indian writer in English. His birth coincides with the birth of a new modern nation on August 15, 1947. He has been justly labelled by the critics as a post-colonial writer who knows his trade well. His second novel Midnight’s Children was published in 1981 and it raised a storm in the hitherto middle class world of fiction writing both in English and in vernaculars. Rushdie for the first time burst into the world of fiction with subversive themes like impurity, illegitimacy, plurality and hybridity. He understands that a civilization called India may be profitably understood as a dream, a collage of many colours, a blending of cultures and nationalities, a pluralistic society and in no way unitary.

In our plural society, interfaith marriages and multicultural families have become a new normal and are either considered problematic for the religious communities or welcomed as a contribution to a secular and more peaceful world. In the course of my work with European Muslims, I could accompany such families through a few generations. In this article, I am going to outline some typical challenges and crises in such relationships and their effects on young people growing up in mixed families, adding my observations of how they can be dealt with. Ultimately, there is a chance that, through dialogue, it provides a meaningful learning environment that prepares young people for the diverse reality of the world today.

In recantation of his earlier approach, Peter L. Berger now claims: ‘The world today, with some exceptions […], is as furiously religious as it ever was, and in some places more so than ever.’ The most important exception that Berger refers to is Western Europe. The introduction to Part II provides an overview of the religious landscape in Western Europe. The data show that the current religious situation in the countries of Western Europe is in fact subject to considerable variation. It would therefore be erroneous to describe Western Europe as secularized. At the same time, the data reveal that there have been clear secularization tendencies over the last few decades. To grasp the diversity of religious tendencies, Part II deals with three cases: West Germany with moderate downward tendencies, Italy with a considerably high degree of stability, and the Netherlands displaying disproportionately strong secularizing tendencies.
