According to ISO 3918: 2007, ISO 5707: 2007 and ISO 6690: 2007, the detergent system must be designed and constructed so that detergents and disinfectants do not mix with milk. The proper functioning of the circulating detergent system depends on the following factors: the design and installation of the detergent system must ensure the proper volume of circulation, the speed and duration of the detergent solutions; temperature and concentration should be appropriate for the types of cleaning and disinfecting solutions. The purpose of the research is to analyze modern automatic ways of washing milking machines and to determine the basic modes of operation of washing machines. The washing machine is intended for washing and disinfection of milk systems and equipment of milking machines in cowsheds with a restrained method of holding and non-milking, whereby milking is carried out in the milking room. The washing machine is usually available in stock for standard and standard washing. The principle of piling is based on repeated use of water and detergent. The washing machine for standard washing is based on a circulating flushing system with a flow heater. Pre-rinsing and rinsing are done with water plugs.

The pH of water is different in different areas. So, the washing machines which are based on Fuzzy Logic Controller being used in different areas are deprived of useful results because these machines cannot detect the pH of water. When pH of water is other than 7, more detergent and washing time for laundry is consumed. The proposition of the paper is that neutral water (pH = 7) should be used in washing machines. It will reduce the washing time. In this way, energy and washing time can be saved. The impersonate results and the action of the aforementioned device have been done by fuzzy logic toolbox using MATLAB.

Nowadays industry uses special washing machines to wash the outer surface of cans, which can be jet, submersible and combined-type. These washing machines are quite energy-intensive and metal-consuming. A washing machine was designed in Mari State University, in which the objects cleaned gain eccentric motion and bubbling is created from the side of cylindrical cans. In order to identify the dependence of the cleaning quality on liquid activation using the air bubbling method, a number of factor-at-a-time experiments with a three-fold repeatability were performed at the outside of the washed objects. Special theoretical calculations were carried out to identify the limits of the drive wheel speed values aimed at studying kinematic parameters. The type of hyperbolic dependence of the wheel diameter on its rotation frequency is also determined.

AbstractDuring the period from April 2012 to May 2013, 13 newborns and one child in a paediatric hospital ward in Germany were found to be colonised with a distinct clinical clone of an (extended spectrum β-lactamase) (ESBL)-producingKlebsiella oxytoca. This clone was specific to this hospital and had not been previously isolated in Germany.A source-tracking analysis was carried out to identify the source and transmission pathways of the ESBL-producingK. oxytocaclone. A systematic environmental survey of the ward and an audit of the procedures for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, instruments, incubators, and washing machines was performed. Microbiological samples were obtained from environmental surfaces. Risk factors were analysed for epidemiological linkage.Isolates of an ESBL-producingK. oxytocawere found in the detergent drawer and on the rubber door seal of a washing machine and in two sinks. These strains were typed by pulsed-field-gel-electrophoresis (PFGE) and compared with the isolates from the newborns and their clothing and found to be identical. The retrospective analysis demonstrated that only newborns who had worn clothes that had been washed in the washing machine were colonised with the identical clone. After the washing machine was taken out of use, no further cases were detected over the following 4-year period. We conclude that washing machines are potential reservoirs and vectors for transmission ofEnterobacteriaceae, and likely other bacteria.ImportanceWashing machines should be further investigated as possible sites for horizontal gene transfer (ESBL-/carbapenemase-genes) and cross-contamination of clinically important Gram-negative strains. Particularly in the healthcare sector, the knowledge of possible (re-) contamination of laundry (patients clothes, staff uniforms) with multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria could help to prevent and control nosocomial infections. To date, the potential of the washing machine as a source and vector of antibiotic-resistant gram-negative bacteria causing an outbreak in a clinical setting has not been investigated. This report shows that sampling of washing machines should be included in environmental audits associated with outbreak control management, and conditions for the laundering of baby 64 clothing should be reviewed.

This study converted a damaged fully automatic washing machine into asemi -automatic washing machine. Conversion of the machine was done due tounavailability of its electronic spare parts in the local market and to recycle theequipment. Thus, the study explored the conversion the washing machine that canbe shared to the local technician to enhance their knowledge, skills and minimizeenvironmental waste. It involved dismantling and rewiring, identifying the terminalleads of the motors, and testing recycled parts. Replacement of unserviceable part wasdone to turn into operation the said machine. Findings disclosed that the automaticwashing machine converted into a semi-automatic have the similar operation cycles. The only difference between the two washing machines was the controls and sequenceof washing. In semiautomatic washing machine, it requires human intervention tocontrol and to add and drain water. Cost incurred in converting the malfunctionautomatic washing machine into a semi-automatic function was much cheaper thanbuying a brand new one. Keywords: Discarded Electronics, Washing Machine, Semi-Automatic, ViganCity, Ilocos Sur, Philippines

This paper suggests an approach based on usability engineering, used to assess the usability of machines and plants in the agrofood industry, aiming to enhance machines efficacy, efficiency and safety with a development focused on users’ needs. Furthermore, the article examines the validation of the suggested approach through its application in a case study regarding a washing machine for the production of extra virgin olive oil. Firstly, it was necessary to identify the target cluster. For this reason, only Tuscan high quality extra virgin olive oil manufacturers were selected. The selected producers are of between 30 and 65 years old, with working experience in the field of at least 10 years. Once the cluster was identified, through brainstorming, the critical phases of the process were identified. According to the results, the washing process was considered the most critical phase. The reached conclusions were analysed and translated into technical aspects through the Quality Function Deployment. The predominant needs to be introduced in the new washing machine were related to the reduction of processing time, the improvement of washing system, the reduction of water consumption, and the increase of worker safety. Successively, a virtual prototype was developed and tested with 8 experts. Afterwards, a usability test was performed with 15 users. Two different olive washing machines were evaluated (traditional vs new machine). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was utilised for users’ scores interpretation. According to P-values (ranging from P<0.001 to P=0.008) several statistically significant differences emerged between the two washing machines. In particular, remarkable differences regarding efficacy, efficiency, usability, human-machine interaction, reliability and an increase in safety were highlighted. Moreover, the results indicate that the new washing machine is overall perceived as more usable machine. In conclusion, the results are encouraging and give robustness both to the proposed methodological approach and to the improvement of the new washing machine.

Washing machines are used very frequently in everyday life. There have been many related studies on the vibration and noise of washing machines. The suspension system is an important vibration isolation component of the washing machine. Based on the Lagrangian equation, the dynamic model of the suspension system was established. The reliability of the model was verified by finite element simulation and experimental methods. Finally, this paper used a multi-objective optimization method to obtain optimal parameters of the washing machine and further to reduce the vibration level of washing machines.
