Hydraulic turbine components that define the water flow, generally have a complex geometry. In the design of these components a major role is played by model tests. The complex geometry of runners blades and wicked gates determines high manufacturing times and high fabrication cost if they are made by classical manufacturing technologies (casting, machining on numerically controlled machines). The use of high resolution 3D printing reduces the production time, simplifies the manufacturing technology and generate high dimensional accuracy. The paper presents the design and the manufacturing process of the components from a new solution of axial hydroturbine, equipped with a permanent magnet generator and an immersed runner. The manufacturing of the main parts of the turbine (runner and wicked gates) it was made by Rapid Prototyping.

This article presents the results of studying the dimensional accuracy of the bases of complete removable prostheses made using a 3D printer and the traditional method. Bases of complete removable prostheses were made using an intraoral laser scanner iTero Cadent (USA) and a 3D printer Asiga Max UV (Australia). To study the dimensional accuracy of the bases of complete removable prostheses, we used the DentalCAD 2.2 Valletta software. The Nonparametric Wilcoxon W-test was used for statistical analysis of the obtained data. We found that the average value of the difference with the standard for bases made using digital technologies is 0.08744±0.0484 mm. The average value of the difference with the standard for bases made by the traditional method is 0.5654±0.1611 mm. Based on these data, we concluded that the bases of complete removable prostheses made using modern digital technologies (intraoral laser scanning and 3D printer) have a higher dimensional accuracy compared to the bases of complete removable prostheses made using the traditional method with a significance level of p<0.05 (Wilcoxon's W-test=0, p=0.031). Keywords: digital technologies in dentistry, digital impressions, intraoral scanner, 3D printing, ExoCAD, complete removable dentures.

Electromechanical sensing devices, based on resins doped with carbon nanotubes, were developed by digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology in order to increase design freedom and identify new future and innovative applications. The analysis of electromechanical properties was carried out on specific sensors manufactured by DLP 3D printing technology with complex geometries: a spring, a three-column device and a footstep-sensing platform based on the three-column device. All of them show a great sensitivity of the measured electrical resistance to the applied load and high cyclic reproducibility, demonstrating their versatility and applicability to be implemented in numerous items in our daily lives or in industrial devices. Different types of carbon nanotubes—single-walled, double-walled and multi-walled CNTs (SWCNTs, DWCNTs, MWCNTs)—were used to evaluate the effect of their morphology on electrical and electromechanical performance. SWCNT- and DWCNT-doped nanocomposites presented a higher Tg compared with MWCNT-doped nanocomposites due to a lower UV light shielding effect. This phenomenon also justifies the decrease of nanocomposite Tg with the increase of CNT content in every case. The electromechanical analysis reveals that SWCNT- and DWCNT-doped nanocomposites show a higher electromechanical performance than nanocomposites doped with MWCNTs, with a slight increment of strain sensitivity in tensile conditions, but also a significant strain sensitivity gain at bending conditions.

The principles of jet electrodeposition orientated by rapid prototyping were introduced , The nanocrystalline nickel parts with simple shape were fabricated using jet electrodeposition oriented by rapid prototyping. The microstructure and phase transformation of nanocrystalline nickel were observed under the scanning microscope and X-ray diffraction instrument . The results show that the successful fabrication of metallic parts demonstrates the potential of the jet electrodeposition process for prototyping technology . The jet electrodeposition can greatly enhance the limited current density, fine crystalline particles and improve deposition quality. The nickel parts prepared by jet electrodeposition own a fine-grained structure( average grain size 25.6nm) with a smooth surface and high dimensional accuracy under the optimum processing parameters..The dimensional accuracy as well as the surface quality of metallic parts and tools manufactured using jet electrodeposition techniques still lag far behind those of conventionally machined parts.
