As the linguistics community is pushing for more introductory classes to be taught at the high school level, it is useful to create a course framework. This framework can help provide structure for a potential Advanced Placement (AP) test and course as well as help interested teachers create successful proposals to add linguistics to their school’s course offerings. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I suggest that the existing Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are an ideal starting point. Although not a science in the traditional secondary school sense, there is considerable overlap in methodology. Using the language of science can help those unfamiliar with linguistics see that it is the systematic study of language rather than just language learning, as well as help students transfer some of the skills and knowledge of practices that they already know from previous classes. This paper serves as an introduction to NGSS and the connections between the existing science standards and methodologies with the goal of demonstrating their usefulness for creating standards for linguistics.

Problem-based learning connects new problems that exist in daily life. It optimizes the ability to think through the process of group work and experimental activities. The students have difficulties in solving problems. They have little experience and are not highly motivated. It makes them unable to explore what students have. The conventional methods lack of training in critical thinking for students. This causes students to lack confidence to play an active role in the learning process. Based on these problems, the present study therefore developed the Indonesian language learning materials for Grade 7 at the junior high school level using the Problem Based Learning model.

Bright and Marc Gregor (1978) have remarked that “there is no language learning without exposure” At this juncture mere knowledge of English, based upon listening, speaking, reading and writing directed towards acquisition of communication skills among high school students. The present study intended to find out the lacuna of secondary skills in English language among the students at high school level. An Oxford dictionary defines lacuna as ‘an absent part’. This paper portrays the percentage of expected and achieved skills of the students which is technically the term called as ‘Lacuna’. Gradually the differences between expected and achieved skills have been increasing by the students year by year. At this juncture, it is very much needed to fill the lacuna between expected and achieved skills among the students for the strong foundation of the students in the field of communication skills.

Religious radicalsm is a serious problem whose solution should be found immediately. If it is ignored for a long time, it will bring negative impact and threaten the existence of NKRI. Nowadays, there is a great amount of religious violence that become “an achievement” in the caderization process done by Islamic radicals. Moreover, they have approached to any education levels, starting from secondary school level up to high school level. Therefore, it is necessary to have a serious attempt in deradicalizing the Islamic Education taught to the students in order to prevent the growth of radicalization among various religions, languages, racial and ethnic groups.

Learning and studying a language is not only about learning its grammatical structures and syntactic properties. It also has a lot to do with encountering a new culture, experiencing it firsthand and learning about it. Someone who has encountered a new language and observed people using it natively, will instinctively compare and that new culture to his and come up with several syntheses. This study is about to determine and examine linguistic problems, revealing, with what kind of linguistic classifications students struggle throughout the learning process and to examine the advantages of which language learning strategies suits best for Turkish students in middle school, high school levels and university levels , as well as, German , Irish , French, Danish (held by the Comenius Lifelong Learning project to the EU-National Agency support) Spanish at the high school level and college-level Moroccan , South-North- Central African , Iranian and Afghan students (TOMER).
