Africa’s urbanization processes are seen as both a challenge and an opportunity for sustainable development. While these processes unfold differently in diverse countries across the continent, it has become increasingly apparent that surge urbanization, population growth and the lack of effective planning for an efficient waste management system have brought in its wake other challenges that have significant implications for public health and sustainable development. Thus, much as urbanization has the potential to drive Africa’s growth and sustainable development agenda, current happenings in most of Africa’s cities, in particular, also signal the negative impact of rapid and unplanned urbanization on sustainable development processes. Waste and sanitation management have become an enduring urban challenge across Africa. They come with significant cost to people and governments and as the search for lasting solutions continue, Waste Transfer Stations have emerged as an efficient management technology which has been embraced and deployed in some countries. While it has received praises in some quarters as an innovative technology, there is concern that such praises have muted critical issues of pollution, odor nuisance, cultural incompatibility and public health challenges, which, for the most part, are unrecognized or underestimated. The question then becomes: are Waste Transfer Stations the solution to Africa’s urban waste and sanitation challenges?

The plan of this paper is focused on road traffic, regulating the intersection with light traffic signs and providing proposals for the planned strategic solution for achieving sustainability. It defines concrete activities and programs that will contribute to the sustainable development of the area based on the analysis of the current state of traffic. Through the implementation of the strategic plan, this plan will maintain urban mobility, the rapid passage of all traffic participants, also the conditions to fulfill the sustainable development that global experts have designated as; Ensure easy and healthy life with less air pollution for all traffic users, access to reliable traffic regulation programs, maintain modern energy to encourage new innovations in the form of transport. Build a resilient infrastructure by analyzing software simulations, and foster innovation by fostering the use of new technology. The strategic problems of developed cities require careful consideration and implementation of innovative approaches to creating strategic solutions. Contemporary ways of innovative arrangements and programs, based on sound regulation, are increasingly being used in practice, replacing new urban development instruments that are more appropriate to the needs of public administration and the possibilities of civilization. Global problems and accelerated dynamics of urban growth, above all, imply the use of innovative technology. The criterion for implementing the efficiency of technology in reaching the provision of an adequate quality of life. Strategic solution, which is implemented in the software as one of the newest urban development instruments, is specifically aimed at achieving the set goals, while respecting the principle of sustainability of traffic regulation, which is a strategic issue in many countries. Its basic characteristic is due to the development policies and the desired future through the dialogue of the wide traffic network. To make cities and other settlements, safe, resistant and sustainable strategic promotion of better development planning and incentivize modeling on the PTV VISION platform. Creating this plan will enable all future projects and ideas to be based on the unique programs provided by the software to ensure the consistency of the strategic approach. This means that the same importance will be attached to large infrastructure projects, as well as to projects of peaceful traffic planning or improvement of local main roads. The 'PTV-VISSIM' software program becomes an umbrella document for all transport and transport planning activities in this regard. The desired direction will be established and the key initiatives for the realization of the strategy for the next few years will be presented.

In the era of the macro-knowledge economy, together with the reform of marke operation mechanism, social development has become increasingly dependent on innovative technology, and it plays an important role in national strategic deployment. As the main base of scientific and technological innovation and scientific research development in our country, colleges and universities have become more diversified in their role positioning. Successful scientific research incubation will contribute to the release of their social functions and achieve self-sustainable development simultaneously. Based on the brief analysis of the problems in the transformation of scientific research achievements in colleges and universities, this article focuses on exploring the corresponding optimization strategies.

The purpose of this paper is to examine commercialization model of appropriate technology through the case of the LaoKorea Science and Technology Center (LKSTC). LKSTC has developed washing, water treatment, and sterilization technology in the agrifood sector and three types of pico-hydro generator, Pico-solar hybrid system, and energy remote monitoring technology in the renewable energy sector. Commercialization of appropriate technology was successfully carried out through the establishment of Kaipan community business, school enterprises, and social enterprise. The policy implications are as follows. First, the commercialization of appropriate technology in developing countries should enhance the linkage with the regional development policies of the recipient countries. Second, in order to minimize market risk, innovative technology development and local startup networks should be properly established. Finally, the mid and long term efforts are needed to increase the sustainability of the business.

The complexity of sustainability complicates the design work and requires the implementation of Integrated Life Cycle Design. Due to the need of balance between environmental, social and economic aspects and the multitude of analysis indicators, the assessment of existing buildings is a multi-criteria problem too. The aim of the study is to compare three construction technologies – two traditional solutions and an innovative technology – in the aspect of sustainable development. The assessment was limited to the building envelope materials and included in entirety of 13 environmental, social and economic indicators, characteristic for the first stage of building life cycle. The absence of explicit dominance of one technology over another in terms of these factors was a starting point for the multi-criteria analysis. Based on the comparison of given technologies by WSM and TOPSIS methods, the multi-criteria analysis was carried out and the most advantageous technology was indicated. The results allow for an indirect selection of building materials to fulfil the sustainability requirements for the building.

The goal of this research paper is to summarize the collected works on blockchain concepts, blockchain application area, blockchain problems, and draw appropriate conclusions. Since Blockchain is relatively an innovative technology, a representative sample of research is presented, spanning the last ten years, starting with the early work in this field. Different types of Blockchain use and other digital ledger techniques have been investigated, including their challenges, security and privacy issues. The key motivation of the review study is to detect the most favorable direction for future use of blockchain and research challenges in blockchain.
