With the beginning of the 20th century, the interest in quality began to grow, and this interest grew even more after the Second World War. This concept was expanded with the increase in customer expectations and the intensity of the competition in terms of quality, to include quality at the organization level as a whole. This study is aimed at identifying the role of TQM in achieving the competitive competitive advantage of the staff of the Directorate of Preparation and Training, and what is exposed to this Directorate of competition as strong as other departments Internal and external pressures affect Especially in terms of performance and competitive position. This led the Directorate to use TQM to maintain its competitive advantage and to enhance its competitive position. In order to achieve this, the analytical description was used. The researchers designed a questionnaire consisting of (30) ) A questionnaire on the sample of the sample has been mobilized through the staff of the Directorate has been used several statistical methods (SPSS) to achieve the objectives of the study. The researchers concluded that the implementation of TQM through the continuous training and education of all the human resources working in the Directorate, and the need to emphasize the accreditation of business organizations TQM as a modern and declared administrative approach to all leaders and employees, build a culture of quality and abandon the traditional methods of management

  The aim of this study is to highlight the role that management by exception plays in achieving pioneering leadership and the survival and growth of institutions and trying to increase their effectiveness and performance in light of the great challenges they face. The importance of management is characterized by adding value to the institution, creating a competitive advantage, making the institution more flexible, and adopting the forms of coordination, designing and structuring. The problem of the study is represented in this question: is the application of the concept of management by exception leads to entrepreneurial leadership in business organizations? The study   showed that the entrepreneurial leadership has the ability to influence workers and the performance of institutions. Based on the principles and the basis of modern leadership and management, it is possible for organizations to achieve proactive entrepreneurship among other organizations. by applying entrepreneurial leadership and sorting out the appropriate decisions

The purpose of this study is to explore the role of implementing e-supply chain management (E-SCM) on the competitive position of companies and whether implementing customer relationship management (CRM) can affect the relationship between E-SCM and competitive advantage. To achieve this objective, a quantitative approach was utilized. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed where 243 questionnaires were returned, with 17 incomplete questionnaires being excluded, leaving 226 usable questionnaires. PLS-SEM software was used to analyze the data. The results of this study demonstrate the imperative role of implementing E-SCM and CRM on creating a competitive advantage for firms. It also shows that CRM mediates the relationship between E-SCM and competitive advantage, suggesting that utilizing different technologies can help firms better communicate with their customers and thus better serve them which in turn will enhance customers’ satisfaction and thus boost the competitive position of the firm.

From the GEM report (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) small and mediumenterprises can contribute 57% to GDP Indonesia, including entrepreneurship. While thephenomenon is still visible weak competitiveness capabilities in which the data fromGlobal Competitiveness Report 2016-2017 rank Indonesia decreased. The number ofentrepreneurs is also relatively small compared to neighboring countries. From theperspective of entrepreneurship spirit is interesting to examine the values of individualentrepreneurs who have an important role to competitiveness. How the role of individualvalues of entrepreneurs in the process of forming competitive advantage that has highcompetitiveness. From the results of research and discussion obtained the conclusion thatthere are 5 individual values of entrepreneurs are important based on the intensity ofentrepreneurial activity. Individual values are integrated in such a way in corporatestrategy that proved to be an important capital that plays a strategic role for the processof achieving competitive advantage and competitiveness of business organizations.

Family businesses are described as organizations owned by one or more members of the same family. Most of the business organizations in the world consists of family firms. However, although they constitute a larger share in almost all of the economies, in their first 5 years of operation, 90% of the family businesses disappear. Of the remaining 10%, 67% die or change ownership after first generation. Only 12% survive under current ownership past the third generation. Therefore, in order to maintain the continuity of the business, family businesses have to achieve competitive advantage. One way to achieve competitive advantage is through becoming market oriented. In this connection, the purpose of this chapter is to identify the role of market orientation and the four basic organizational capabilities (entrepreneurial ability, management ability, global ability, and building partnerships ability) on gaining competitive advantage by systematically reviewing relevant concepts, thereby contributing to the existing literature.

    The study aimed at revealing the importance of applying modern cost systems and clarifying their role in increasing the competitive advantage of many industrial establishments, and their role in increasing competitive advantage. What is the role of applying the Activity based cost system in support of competitive advantage? The aim of the study was to identify the role of the Activity based cost system in increasing product quality. The study concluded that there is a statistically significant relation between the Activities based cost system and increasing the competitive advantage in the Saudi manufacturing enterprise. The study concluded with several recommendations, including the industrial establishments Saudi Arabia is interested to apply the Activity based cost system because of its active role in increasing the competitive advantage.

Business environment today is characterized by many change, therefore, the economic institutions must be vigilante to promote and create a competitive advantage within their target market. The vigilance strategy of the most important and the most recent steering systems that ensure business organizations survival and continuity in a rapidly changing environment and the complexity of what revered prone to a range of events leading to the development of the occurrence of the institution in crisis . This is what the present study is trying to confirm, through a questionnaire addressed to 30 workers in the Telecom Algeria in Béchar. The study concluded with the paying attention to the system of strategic vigilance in its three axes (commercial, competitive and technological), So that the organization can create a competitive advantage in the Algerian telecom market.

Innovation is seen as a competitive advantage that many companies use to ensure the continuity and success of your business.NP 4457:2007 is the Portuguese norm that supports management, based on a model of innovation backed up by interfaces and interaction between technical/scientific knowledge, its specific mechanisms and the overall society.Our paper aims to analyse innovation activities and the involvement of human resources in Portuguese firms certified by NP4457 and associated to the implementation of Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I) management systems. We have collected the data through IPAC’s database, using a survey administered to all firms.Our results suggest the existence of a Human Resources (HR) involvement policy, customers and suppliers. The involvement of stakeholders with innovation activities results of its acceptance as a mechanism able to generate wealth, with benefits for both firms and the community.

Much of the recent surge in writing about the practice of nonviolent forms of resistance has focused on movements that occurred after the end of the Second World War, many of which have been extremely successful. Although the fact that such a method of civil resistance was developed in its modern form by Indians is acknowledged in this writing, there has not until now been an authoritative history of the role of Indians in the evolution of the phenomenon.The book argues that while nonviolence is associated above all with the towering figure of Mahatma Gandhi, 'passive resistance' was already being practiced as a form of civil protest by nationalists in British-ruled India, though there was no principled commitment to nonviolence as such. The emphasis was on efficacy, rather than the ethics of such protest. It was Gandhi, first in South Africa and then in India, who evolved a technique that he called 'satyagraha'. He envisaged this as primarily a moral stance, though it had a highly practical impact. From 1915 onwards, he sought to root his practice in terms of the concept of ahimsa, a Sanskrit term that he translated as ‘nonviolence’. His endeavors saw 'nonviolence' forged as both a new word in the English language, and as a new political concept. This book conveys in vivid detail exactly what such nonviolence entailed, and the formidable difficulties that the pioneers of such resistance encountered in the years 1905-19.

This chapter turns to the present and explains the implications of the current study for the ongoing debate about the Soviet Union in the Second World War and in particular about the role of loyalty and disloyalty in the Soviet war effort. It argues that this study strengthens those who argue for a middle position: the majority of Soviet citizens were neither unquestioningly loyal to the Stalinist regime nor convinced resisters. The majority, instead, saw their interests as distinct from both the German and the Soviet regime. Nevertheless, ideology remains important if we want to understand why in the Soviet Union more resisted or collaborated than elsewhere in Europe and Asia.

This book scrutinizes the relationship between the concept of international legal personality as a theoretical construct and the position of the individual as a matter of positive international law. By testing four main theoretical conceptions of international legal personality against historical and existing international legal norms that govern individuals, the book argues that the common narrative about the development of the role of the individual in international law is flawed. Contrary to conventional wisdom, international law did not apply to States alone until the Second World War, only to transform during the second half of the twentieth century to include individuals as its subjects. Rather, the answer to the question of individual rights and obligations under international law is—and always was—solely contingent upon the interpretation of international legal norms. It follows, of course, that the entities governed by a particular norm tell us nothing about the legal system to which that norm belongs. Instead, the distinction between international and national legal norms turns exclusively on the nature of their respective sources. Against the background of these insights, the book shows how present-day international lawyers continue to allow an idea, which was never more than a scholarly invention of the nineteenth century, to influence the interpretation and application of contemporary international law. This state of affairs has significant real-world ramifications as international legal rights and obligations of individuals (and other non-State entities) are frequently applied more restrictively than interpretation without presumptions regarding ‘personality’ would merit.
