The paper presents experimental results of deformation of a thin-walled tubular specimen along a smooth curvilinear strain trajectory of constant curvature, in which the sign of curvature changes at each section and its center shifts. Experimental data were obtained on the automated calculation-experimental complex SN-Computer in the deviator space of deformations A.A. Ilyushin (rigid loading) with a simultaneous combined action on the specimen of tensioncompression and torsion. Scalar and vector material properties of steel 45 are investigated. It is shown that experimental diagrams characterizing scalar and vector properties of the material have oscillatory character.

The results of experimental studies on validation Ilyushin’s isotropy postulate under the conditions of orthogonal complex loads along curvilinear trajectories of constant curvature. Experimental studies were carried out on thin-walled tubular specimens made of steel 45 on SN-EVM testing machine. Loading programs for tubular specimens were set in the deviatorial strain space of A.A. Ilyushin under the combined action of tension-compression and torsion on the specimens. Experimental data are obtained for four strain trajectories, which are circles starting from the origin. It is found that for the realized complex trajectories of constant curvature the isotropy postulate is fulfilled in terms of scalar and vector properties.

A method to predict the milling deformation of the cylinders deck face was carried out, and FEA technology was used in the research about machining deformation of the thin-walled part. In this work, a simple thin-walled part was taken as an example. The milling deflection of the workpiece had been predicted by establishing a FEA model. Finally, FEA results were verified with milling experimental data, which provided a theoretical basis for technology improvement of cylinders manufacture process.

A method to investigate pipe wall thinning using guided waves has been developed for pipes in thermal power generation facilities. In this paper, the reflection coefficient and the transmission coefficient are derived for the torsional waves which propagate along a pipe and a simplified method to predict the waveform is proposed. The predictions of the waveforms by the FEM and a simplified method based on the reflection of torsional waves are also examined by comparing with experimental data.

The results of an experimental investigation of separation in oscillating laminar boundary layers is reported. Instantaneous velocity profiles obtained with multiple hot-wire anemometer arrays reveal that the onset of wake formation is preceded by the initial vanishing of shear at the wall, or reverse flow, throughout the entire cycle of oscillation. Correlation of the experimental data indicates that the frequency, Reynolds number and dynamic history of the boundary layer are the dominant parameters and oscillation amplitude has a negligible effect on separation-point displacement.

The flow in a three sector model, representing a segment of an annular rich quench lean combustor for an aeroengine is investigated. Detailed knowledge of flow, temperature and species concentration distributions is of decisive importance to control the NOx formation, essential to the RQL concept. Velocities, temperatures and species concentrations are measured. They are partly used to aquire data on the inlet boundaries in the numerical calculation and partly used to compare with the numerical results. The calculation reveals many details which are not accesable in the experiment. It also shows the effects of the specific inlet dataset. Experimental data and numerical results furnish complementary information.

Introduction. Conducted is to the evaluation of the stress-strain state of the steel-concrete beams with thin-walled section. In recent times, steel-reinforced concrete structures have become widely used in civilian buildings (beams, slabs, columns). Thin-walled section have not found wide application in steel concrete structures, unlike steel structures. Presents the results of numerical studies of beams consisting of concrete, anchors and steel beams. Two investigating of the location of anchors are given. Numerical investigations are presented of steel-concrete beams with thin-walled section based on numerical studies. Testing procedure and test result are given. Results of calculations, comparison of numerical and experimental studies are presented. Materials and methods. For full-scale experiments, steel I-beams with filling of side cavities with concrete were adopted, screws are used as anchor ties, with varied both the lengths and their location (vertically and obliquely). As steel curved C-shaped steel profiles were used steel profiles from the range of the company “Steel Faces”. ANSYS software package was used for computer modeling. A total of 16 steel concrete beams were considered, for which the results of strength and stiffness evaluation were obtained in ANSYS. Results. The data of the stress-strain state of beams on the basis of computer simulation are obtained. The results are used for the production of field samples. Data of computer simulation are compared with the indicators of field experiments. Conclusions. The stress-strain state of steel-concrete structures was studied on the basis of numerical and experimental data. The proposed calculation method gives good convergence with the experimental data. Anchor connections made from self-tapping screws can be used in studies for modeling in steel-concrete beams structures and other anchor devices, ensuring the joint operation of concrete and steel profiles in structures.
