Background & Objective: Vitamins are complex organic substances that are needed by the body in small amounts, usually cannot be synthesized by the body but are important in metabolic processes one of which is vitamin B. Vitamin B consists of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B9 and B12. Eel is one of the fish that has a high nutrient content, one of which is vitamin B. This study aims to determine the levels of vitamin B (B1, B2, B3, B6, B9 and B12) in Eel fish (Anguilla marmorata (Q.) Gaimard) on Elver phase from Lake Poso. Material and Methods: Determination of vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6 and B9 using HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography), and vitamin B12 using LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) . Results: The levels of vitamin B2, B3 and B12is 0.133 mg/100g, 1.895 mg/100g, and 0.017mg/100g, whereas in vitamin B1, B6 and B9 is not detected. Conclusion: Eel fish (Anguilla marmorata (Q.) Gaimard) on Elver phase from Lake Poso can be used as a source of vitamins B2, B3 and B12.

Determination of nutrient contents is important as it provides theoretical and technical support for tending of the Chinese Fir plantation. In this study, dynamic changes in plant nutrient content in Chinese fir [Cunninghamia lanceolata (Lamb.) Hook] plantations at different ages were studied. Data on continuous positioning were obtained from a Shangpuzi Woodland Ridge in Suining, Hunan province, China. The results showed that at the same age, different organs of Chinese fir possessed different nutrient content in the following order: needle > twig >bark > root > trunk. The order of each nutrient element was Ca > N > K > Mg > P in bark and root, N > Mg > Ca > K > P in trunk, and Ca > K > N > Mg > P in twig. The nutrient content of plant organs was highest in fast-growing (7 to 12-year old) period, and began to decline when entering the trunk wood stage, though the downward trend differed. The nutrient content in the same organs differed amongst plants of different ages. The variationin nutrient content in the undergrowth vegetation with forest age was comparable to that in the tree layer, whilst the content in the organs exceeded that of the corresponding organs of the tree layer. Upon comparison to the living tree layer, the nutrient content in plant tissues at different growth stages were determinednot only by the genetic and physiological characteristics of the plant itself, but further influenced by temperature, precipitation and other habitat conditions.© 2021Friends Science Publishers

Ujung Kartini Waters is part of the estuary of the Wiso River and Kanal River which are located on the west side of Jepara Regency. In the surrounding area, there are human activities that are feared to cause changes in water quality, especially nutrient content. Changes in nutrients content in the waters will have impact on the distribution and abundance of phytoplankton and concentration of chlorophyll-a.  This study aims to determine the level of aquatic productivity and the relationship between phytoplankton abundance with chlorophyll-a concentration. The study was conducted from November to December 2017. This research includes descriptive analysis and determination of sampling location using purposive sampling method. Samples of water and phytoplankton were collected at three stations based on the level of human activity. Sampling was carried out during high tide and low tide with two repetitions. Based on the results of the research, the abundance of phytoplankton at high and low tides ranged between 6.375 - 13.725 cells/l and chlorophyll-a concentrations at high and low tides ranged between 0,126 – 1,392 mg/m3. The value of diatom quotient is 1,533 which means that the waters of study area belong to the eutrophic category. The abundance of phytoplankton and concentrations of chlorophyll-a at high tide is higher than at low tide. Both show a high level relationship.

AbstractObjective: This present investigation aimed at assessing the water quality of the Gediz River located in western Turkey. Methods: Some physicochemical parameters and nutrient concentrations of the surface water of Gediz River were determined over a period of twelve months (October to September 2012) at 5 sampling sites along the river. Results: Data on some ions namely NHConclusion: This indicates pollution of the river water samples from the areas studied. Our findings highlighted the deterioration of water quality of the river due to anthropogenic and agriculturel activities.

The study of the qualitative composition of the muscle tissue of animals is necessary in connection with the influence of the nutrient content on the technological, taste and dietary properties of meat. The major known changes in the biochemical parameters of the animal tissues are in the content of amino acids and fatty acids, etc. The aim of the work was to compare different chromatographic methods and to identify the most effective of them for the determination of fatty acids and amino acids in pig meat. The following HPLC methods are known for analyzing food products: ultra-HPLC, «hydrophilic» chromatography, two-dimensional and multidimensional HPLC methods, chiral chromatography, express chromatography, capillary HPLC, nano-HPLC, micellar HPLC, HPLC on monolithic columns, HPLC on surface porous sorbents, immunochromatographic methods, green chromatography, high-temperature HPLC. The most common methods for the determination of amino acids and fatty acids are reversed-phase and cation-exchange HPLC.
