With the aid of information-based teaching platform, the traditional classroom English teaching mode can be improved to provide students with a realistic linguistic environment and enhance their learning interest. As a result, the web-based computer aided English teaching has become the mainstream in college English education. Based on the browser/server (B/S) structure, this paper designs a computer-aided English teaching platform of the model–view–controller (MVC) architectural pattern. The programming was carried out using the MySQL database, and the functions of the computer-aided English teaching platform were realized securely and stably by the popular Secure Shell (SSH) framework. The system test results show that the proposed platform supports the open teaching of college English, solves the lack of interaction in traditional classroom teaching, and arouses the students’ learning interest. The research further promotes the reform of college English teaching, and enriches the theories and practices on computer-aided English teaching.

College English teaching is in urgent need of a platform which may improve stu-dents' initiative in English learning, raise learning interest and enhance English teaching management, in order to improve students' English level and facilitate the teacher's English teaching management. The popularity of campus network facili-ties in various universities provides hardware support for the establishment of a personalized English teaching platform based on campus network. The study is aimed at designing a personalized English teaching platform based on campus network, which takes VBSCRIPT as programming language and SQL Server as database software of the platform, completing the interactive processing of the da-ta based on the data structure of client computer/server (B/S). First, the paper in-troduces the relevant teaching and education theories, laying theoretical and tech-nical basis for the design of personalized English teaching platform in combina-tion with the computer technology used in the design of the platform. The combi-nation of questionnaire and analytic study is used in the design of the system from various aspects, and makes the design of the platform come true. At last, the testing of the system verifies that the system meets the relevant functional re-quirement. The platform would provide an open environment for English learning and stimulating the guidance of teachers and is of great significance to improve the level of college English teaching.

With the application and development of computer-aided language teaching, the multimedia technology has become an important feature of modern college English education. However, though the technology has a lot of advantages in promoting the English teaching, it also brings about some problems that can not be neglected. In this article, the author analyzes both the positive and negative effects of the multimedia technology on college English teaching, and puts forward some suggestions on how to solve the problems and build up a harmonious classroom environment with technology.

The English proficiency of Chinese college students is mainly constrained by their low interest in English learning. The English educators in Chinese colleges must improve the initiative of their students to learn English. This paper attempts to create a college English teaching platform based on computer networking technology. Taking flipped classroom as the theoretical basis of college English education, the author introduced the concept and development of flipped classroom, and verified the feasibility of applying the theory in English teaching. To provide the media for flipped classroom, a college English teaching platform was built on the browser/server (B/S) structure, and used to promote the information-based English teaching in colleges. The functional modules and main interfaces of the platform were illustrated one by one. The flipped classroom-based B/S teaching platform was adopted for one semester by a college in Hunan Province. The class using this platform was taken as the test group, and another class without using the platform as the control group. The English scores of the two groups were compared, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed platform. Our research demonstrates the value of flipped classroom, and the proposed teaching platform helps improve the efficiency of college English teaching.

With the deepening reform of college English teaching in China, many self-access centers(SAC) have been established in universities to promote students’ antonomy and cultivate their leanring ability. Based on the theories of constructivism, humanistic psychology and cognitive psychology, the self-access language learning ( SALL), with its new emphasis on speaking and llistening , is a very good supplement to traditional classroom teaching ,whose focus is only on reading and writing. This paper intends to probe into the effectiveness of students’ SALL in SAC of Wuhan Polytechnic Universtiy through an empirical study. After analyzing the findings qualitatively and quantitatively, the results show that that learners’ autonomy, by and large, can be achieved. SAC and SALL is sure to be very helpful to arouse learners’ learning interest, foster their independence, improve their problem–solvling ability and facilitate their four-skilled abilities.

With the advent of the Internet age, network information technology is rapidly entering college English classes, which fundamentally changes the mode of college English teaching. In college English classroom teaching mode, as a brand teaching form, College English multimedia network teaching environment has brought advantages to classroom teaching, but also brought about impacts on teaching concepts, teaching models, teaching methods and other aspects. There are some phenomena that are inconsistent with the reform model at the students, teachers and the environment. The balance of traditional English classroom teaching has been broken, which has affected the smooth progress of college business English classroom teaching mode reform. It is very important to analyze and resolve these imbalances and find ecological methods for optimizing university English education. In this context, the advent of multimedia-assisted education technology has provided better conditions for the implementation of Business English classroom education in universities. Multimedia-powered business English education allows teachers to create a better language learning environment in class more conveniently and quickly, helping students acquire grammar knowledge and achieve their educational objectives.

The main goal of college English education is to cultivate the students’ language ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and to promote the formation of individualized learning and autonomous ability of college students. At present, the new curriculum reform in our country has put forward a new educational requirement to college English teaching, which requires the innovation of college English teaching idea, and under the background of the development of new media, it proposes to use new media equipment to carry out teaching activities. However, college English education in our country is influenced by examination-oriented education mode, and the traditional education method is still used, which is not good for college students to improve their comprehensive quality of English. In view of this development situation, the Ministry of Education of China Based on the development of new media, a multimodal discourse analysis approach to college English education is proposed to enhance the level of College English teaching.

In order to adapt to the needs of the rapid development of social networks, how to effectively improve college students’ English comprehensive application ability, and rapidly improve listening and speaking skills has become an important research goal of college English teaching. This paper describes the main problems to be solved, and makes full use of the network and multimedia technology to build an open, interactive network English teaching platform. Situational cognition can help students to construct their knowledge to a great extent. In order to solve the problem of lack of situational cognition in College English teaching, this paper studies the validity of students' situational cognition in College English teaching based on the method of image block gain optimization. First, this paper analyses the general situation of situational cognition capacity in College English teaching in China at present, and puts forward the function of device image in constructing situational cognitive competence in teaching. Then, it divides device image into blocks under pseudo-haze conditions, and proposes the optimization method of block gain. Finally, on the basis of block gain, it makes an empirical test of situational cognitive competence in College English teaching. The empirical results show that image block gain optimization can effectively improve the construction of situational cognition capacity in College English teaching. With the help of this study, some new and useful ideas can be traced for the development of computer science and college English teaching, and also stimulate the further improvement of College English education in China.
