This study aims to examine users' acceptance of library self-issue and return system by integrating Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB)/Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the guiding principle. The research used a multiple regression for data analysis across a sample of 238 students. Their participation was purely voluntary. Empirical analysis confirmed that student's intention to use the library self-service by behavioural intentions and perceived usefulness. However, the subjective norm was found to be not significantly related to library self-issues and return system. This empirical results may benefit to the students and the librarians involved in self-issue and return system in library. The librarian could avoid a long queue of students in the library. For the students, they will be able to save time on borrowing or retuning the materials. This research offers a new findings compare to the previous study, where this research focus on undergraduate students in Malaysia. Next, the proposed framework could be used as a foundation for future research investigating students who had not applied the library self-service respond.

YouTube is reshaping teaching and learning across the world and is becoming a preferred platform for students' procedural learning to acquire relevant skills and knowledge in implementing any tasks. The aims of this research are to assess factors influencing student intention to use YouTube for procedural learning. In addition, the technology acceptance model (TAM) was applied as the underpinning theory. Data was analyzed to examine the hypothesized relationships. Results revealed that content richness, task-technology fit, YouTube self-efficacy, and vividness significantly affect students' behavioral intention to use YouTube for procedural learning. Results infer that YouTube enlarges its function as a mass-oriented means for procedural learning as students develop positive perceived usefulness of YouTube to influence their behavioral intention to use YouTube. This study integrated TAM and assessed factors influencing student intention to use YouTube for procedural learning. Future research directions are also put forward.

This short paper reports the findings of a study exploring English for Academic Purposes (EAP) students’ behavioral intention to use a high-immersion Virtual Reality (VR) system for learning paragraph structure. The study measured relationships between variables that may lead to learners’ intention to use the high-immersion VR Reality system through leveraging a hypothesized theoretical framework based upon a widely used technology acceptance model. Quantitative data were collected from 134 Sino-British English as a medium of instruction by university undergraduate students enrolled in EAP classes by means of a post-participation questionnaire. A Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) exploratory analysis was executed. Results suggested that students’ intention to use the high-immersion VR learning environment was primarily determined by its usefulness for learning and not how easy it was to use. Furthermore, the degree to which the learners felt confident in their ability to operate the system had a large impact on how easy they perceived it was to use. And finally, the antecedent conditions of learners had little impact on the students’ perceived usefulness of the VR system.

Teachers’ intention to use technology is a major factor in its effective use in learning including in developing countries. This research empirically investigated on factors that influence Pre-Service Science Teachers’ (PSSTs) intention to use Web 2.0 in learning through Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in Indonesia. The goals of the research were to (a) report if the TAM is a valid and reliable model to explain PSSTs intention to use Web 2.0, and (b) inform the factors of PSSTs’ intention to use Web 2.0 in learning. Seven hundred and five PSSTs from five universities completed a 24-item online questionnaire based on the TAM constructs comprising perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norm, facilitating conditions, attitudes, and intention to use Web 2.0. Results obtained using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) informed that (a) facilitating condition and subjective norm significantly influenced perceived ease of use; (b) subjective norm significantly affected perceived usefulness; (c) both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness was a significant factor predicting attitude; and (d) attitude, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness significantly influenced intention to use Web 2.0. Overall, the TAM is a valid model to help explain Indonesian PSSTs’ intention to use Web 2.0 in learning. Keywords: Web 2.0, technology acceptance model, pre-service science teachers.

This study investigated the influence of students’ cognitive instrumental processes (i.e., relevance for learning, the quality of learning outcomes, and result demonstrability) on students’ perceived usefulness and intention to use flipped learning. An extension of the technology acceptance model (TAM2) was employed in this study. A total of 277 undergraduate students enrolled in flipped classes at a Korean university completed an online survey for this study. The results of the cognitive instrumental processes revealed that the quality of learning outcomes influenced students’ perceived usefulness and intention to use flipped learning. This finding emphasizes that it is necessary to deliver high-quality classes using a flipped learning approach to satisfy students’ expectations of improving learning outcomes. The relevance for learning also affected students’ perceived usefulness of flipped learning classes and indirectly influenced their future intention to use flipped learning. The results emphasize that students should be given opportunities to recognize the relevance of flipped learning based on their expected learning achievement. Finally, result demonstrability did not influence perceived usefulness nor intention to use flipped learning. The research findings of this study have practical implications and recommendations for flipped class instructors to persuade students to enroll in flipped learning courses from the perspective of cognitive instrumental processes.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of social and personal dimensions in predicting sustainable intention to use a social networking site (SNS). We propose and test an integrative SNS acceptance model based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the social influence theory. Included in the model are the attitudes toward the use of a SNS, the subjective norm, prevalence of information cascades, and the perceived behavioral control as antecedents of intention to use a SNS. An empirical analysis was conducted using data collected from a questionnaire survey with 228 college students in Korea, and it yielded the following findings. First, the two social dimensions, namely subjective norm and information cascade, were each found to have a significant positive relationship with behavioral intention to use a SNS. In particular, information cascades turned out to have a stronger impact than the remaining two antecedents to behavioral intention to use a SNS. Second, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were found to have a significant positive influence on the attitude toward SNS use.

<p>The LINE application is often conceived as purely social space; however, the authors of this paper wanted to determine if it could be used for academic purposes. In this study, we examined how undergraduate students accepted LINE in terms of using it for classroom-related activities (e.g., submit homework, follow up course information queries, download materials) and explored the factors that might affect their intention to use it. Data were collected from 144 undergraduate students enrolled in an English course that utilized some activities based on LINE app using a questionnaire developed from TAM. Data were analyzed to see if relationships existed among factors when LINE was used to organize classroom experiences. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness and attitude toward usage had positive relationships with intention to use while perceived ease of use was positively related to perceived usefulness. In contrast with TAM assertions, this study did not find any relationship between perceived ease of use and attitude toward usage. Also, the number of social networking sites that students are using had no relationship with intention to use. The study also suggested some kinds of LINE-based learning activities preferred by students, which would be proposed for future courses. This study revealed several useful implications that TAM can be employed as a useful theoretical framework to predict and understand users’ intention to use new technologies in education.</p>

With the rapid growth of information technology, electronic money has played an important and central role in the e-payment. Development of electronic money is able to create a trend less-cash society, which is a society’s behavior using non- cash transactions by utilizing the simplicity offered through electronic transactions. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors affecting the intention to use electronic money. We designed a questionnaire and used it to survey a simple random sampling of people who use of e-money in DKI Jakarta. The actual samples used for the study are 125 respondents. We analyzed the data using Structured Equation Modeling to evaluate the strength of the hypothesized effects. The result of the analysis showed that perceived ease of use has no significant effect on attitudes towards the use of e-money. Perceived ease of use has a significant effect on the perceived usefulness of e-money. Perceived usefulness has no significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Perceived usefulness has a significant effect on attitudes towards the use of e-money. Attitude has a significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Subjective norm has a significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Perceived behavioral control has no significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Teori dan Model Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) dari Fishbein & Ajzen (1975), Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) dari Ajzen (1991), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) dari Davis (1989) dan Diffusion of Innovation Model (DOI) dari Rogers (1983 dalam Rogers, 2003) sering digunakan oleh banyak peneliti untuk menemukan faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi adopsi yang berkaitan dengan teknologi. Pada penelitian ini keempat teori dan model ini dikombinasikan guna menjelaskan faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi adopsi Twitter advertising pada segmen muda usia 15 – 24 tahun. Sebanyak 389 penguna Twitter menjadi responden penelitian ini, dimana 5 diantaranya diwawancara untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mendalam akan adopsi Twitter advertising. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat attitude terhadap Twitter advertising, subjective norm terhadap Twitter advertising, perceived usefulness terhadap Twitter advertising berpengaruh dan signifikan terhadap intention to adopt Twitter advertising.

The e-commerce industry has the potential to be one of the drivers of the domestic economy. One of the impacts of the advancement of e-commerce is the emergence of many online-based marketplaces or so-called e-marketplaces. However, a lot of these online marketplaces sell 90% imported products. In addition, the outbreak of Covid-19 in Indonesia has prompted the government to establish several policies that have significantly reduced MSME performance by up to 70-100%. This study aimed to provide an empirical analysis of the influence of factors based on the Technology of Acceptance Model (TAM) approach, namely e-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces. The sample consisted of MSMEs in East Java, especially those engaged in the food and beverage industry sector with ready-to-eat processed food products whose business activities use the Shopee e-marketplace application platform. This is an online shopping marketplace focused on mobile platforms. There were 150 respondents. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used. E-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces all had positive effects on each other. This showed that a system that offers convenience will improve behavior, habits, and performance for MSMEs in using e-marketplace activities. Smart home services (SHSs) afford users an effective lifestyle management system, which provides human-oriented networking of smart devices and applications that enable users to control their homes from anywhere at any time. Despite the benefits of SHSs, however, their acceptance is very low. There remains a gap in the literature in terms of a comprehensive model that addresses users’ intention to use SHSs. To address this gap, the present study explored the factors that influence SHS acceptance among users based on well-established theoretical frameworks, such as the technology acceptance model, innovation diffusion theory, and the theory of planned behavior. To this end, the study integrated four additional factors, namely, perceived convenience, perceived connectedness, perceived cost, and perceived privacy risk, into the exploration and carried out structural equation modeling to quantitatively determine the effects of these factors. Questionnaires were administered to 750 users. The findings indicated that perceived compatibility, perceived convenience, perceived connectedness, perceived cost, perceived behavioral control with perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use directly and indirectly exerted a significant influence on users’ intention to use SHSs.
