Results and Discussion of the Main Study

This chapter presents the statistical analysis of the quasi-experimental study in which five types of written CF were examined. The results show that more explicit written CF types were more effective on facilitating L2 development. However, although participants are of different English proficiency, it was not found that proficiency level had an impact on the effect of written CF.

Hygiene sanitation of food in the canteen is important because of the existence of a canteen to ensure the health of canteen users. The behavior of food handlers determines the quality of food served. During this time there were still many cases of food handlers who lacked good behavior as food handlers. This study aims to improve the behavior of food handlers in the Jember State Polytechnic canteen using poster media without counseling. This research is a quasi-experimental study with the design of one group pretest posttest. Respondents from this study came from 10 food stands at the Jember State Polytechnic canteen. The first month was given a pretest and poster installation. Then the poster was left for 2 months and posttest. Data retrieval uses a behavior checklist form that has been validated. The results of statistical analysis show that the value of p = 0.9981 which means > 0.05 (alpha). That is, there were no significant changes between before and after the poster was given. This means that giving posters without counseling was not effective in changing the behavior of food handlers for the better. Viewed from the poster media itself there are no problems. However, explanations such as short presentations or counseling are needed so that food handlers change their behavior. Keywords: Canteen, Counseling, Food Handler Behavior, Posters

This chapter proposes a combined approach in investigating the effect of written CF for L2 development. This research design includes a quasi-experimental study in which participants are given four writing tasks, at the pre-test, immediate post-test, delayed post-test 1, and delayed post-test 2. The written texts are marked and accuracy rates are calculated so that the changes in accuracy in the post-tests can be tracked. Then the participants who do not show improved accuracy in the immediate post-test are invited to participate in a one-on-one conference in which scaffolded written CF is provided. This way, not only can the improved accuracy of a group of participants be used to prove the effectiveness of written CF, but the individuals who do not show improved accuracy but do not make the same mistake in the post-test can also prove that written CF is not ineffective.

The present quasi-experimental study addresses the impact of a Character Strength Based Positive Psychology Intervention (CSBPPI) on Goal Setting (GS) of TEFL university students in Iran. In so doing, the study utilized an experimental design with 18 participants in the control group and 18 participants in the experimental group which totalled 7 male and 29 female students. The pretest showed that the participants of the two groups were homogenous with regard to their proficiency level as well as their goal setting. Data was collected over five months using Erickson et al. (2015) goal setting questionnaire before and after an MA course. The results of the post-test revealed that PP has a positive and significant impact on learners’ goal setting. The findings from this research suggest positive paths from positive psychology to understanding, managing and successfully setting the goals.

The aims of this study were: (1) to identify an increase in students' understanding of the value of mutual cooperation through the use of reader response rules in Indonesian Language Learning (KRPDPBI); (2) identifying the use of the reader response principle in Indonesian Language learning (KRPDPBI) there are differences between male and female students. The design of this study used a quasi-experimental study with two different methods. The results showed that (1) the achievement of the score of understanding the value of mutual cooperation for students taught by KRPDPBI was better than for students taught by regular learning according to the curriculum; (2) the achievement of the understanding of the value of male students' mutual cooperation is no better than that of female students.

This research aims to: (1) find out the differences in mathematical literacy skills of students using the DLPS learning model and those using conventional learning models, (2) find out the differences in students' mathematical literacy skills in terms of verbal skills of students, (3) to find out the interaction of the DLPS learning model in terms of students' verbal skills on mathematical literacy skills of students. The research approach uses a quantitative approach with the type of quasi-experimental research and design of Factorial design 3 x 2. The population in this study is all eighth grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Kampung Baru with the total is 48 people. The sample in this study is the eight-grade A as a control class while the eight grade B is as an experimental class. The instrument used in this study is a test of students 'mathematical literacy skills in the form of pretest and posttest and questionnaires to measure students' verbal skills. The data analysis technique used are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The result shows that: (1) there is a difference between the application of the DLPS learning model and the conventional model on the mathematical literacy skills of students, (2) there is a difference in students' mathematical literacy skill in terms of vebal skill of students, and (3) there is no interaction effect between the DLPS learning model in terms of verbal skill to mathematical literacy skills of students
