Music Composition and Kyosei

The spirit of cooperation central to kyosei is a critical component in the creative corners of American music education. This chapter will describe a project that involved the creation of a hybrid space where a music teacher-educator and practitioner worked with pre-service teachers and middle school students to explore teaching and learning music composition. By recasting who is considered an expert, rethinking institutional boundaries, and immersing in project-based learning on multiple levels, teacher education programs and schools can better identify their challenges and explore possible solutions. Though not part of initial program planning, the principles of kyosei were evidenced in the evolution of complex understandings developed prior to and throughout the project, in the inclusive nature of project-based learning by pre-service teachers and music students, and in the professional relationships—and, ultimately, the friendships—that emerged as the teaching-learning community matured.

The aims of this research are to produce SETS worksheet that can be applied in teaching learning to grow and process skills and scientific attitude for students in Junior High Shcool. The study was a Research and Development (R D ) with students in class VIII SMP N 1 Sewon Bantul as a subject of study. The reseach start form July to November 2015. The study began with a literatature study and field study to obtain information about the problem faced at school, and followed by planning, drafting and validating product by experts. The result shows that SETS worksheet feasible to use in teaching and learning based on the validation result from lecturer, teacher and student response. The SETS Worksheet potential for growing the student's process skills and the scientific attitudeAbstract english version, written using Time New Roman-11, italic. Abstract contain research aim/purpose, method, and reseach results; written in 1 paragraph, single space among rows, using past tense sentences.

Mathematical applications have a presence in an engineering environment; in the particular case of mathematical models. A pedagogic theoretical framework that supports various teaching-learning techniques is constructionism; one of these techniques is called Project Based Learning which provides several advantages. This chapter aims to show the experiences during the course of Mathematical Modeling in a context of project-based learning. It will show that students develop general skills of engineering which includes developing the faculties of memory, reasoning and problem solving, teamwork and initiative and of readiness to take risks. Also presents some of the advantages and issues for consideration in relation to its effectiveness as a teaching and learning method.

Many language teachers have had sporadic exposure to applied linguistics, limited experience with programmed learning/individualized instruction, and an incomplete understanding of ways in which educational technology can significantly augment the quality of the teaching–learning process. what is the process. what is the probability that administrators, teacher educator, materials developers, teachers, and students will appreciate and accept CAI as an approach that seeks to combine these three fields meaningfully? The propose of this discussion is to examine CAI is terms of key definitions, observations, concerns, developments, and contributions that have achieved significance during the 1979–80 academic year in the area of language teaching and learning. Implications and a challenge for future research studies will also be listed.

Purpose of Study: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), deals with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has instantly spread worldwide, leading to an episode of intense irresistible pneumonia. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a phenomenal change in educational teaching-learning framework globally. Other than financial and social effects, there is a difficulty in adopting new online education systems by stakeholders of academic institutions. Methodology: The review presented here is based on the platinum open access literature focusing on the adoption of the online education system during the current pandemic situation. This compilation of the findings is based on a systematic review published by the scholars of the relevant field of research targeted to opportunities and challenges in adopting ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and online teaching-learning pedagogy.  Main Findings: Specifically, school students need to deal with various sorts of ecological, electronic, and mental battles because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The whole education system from elementary to tertiary level has been imploded during the lockdown time of the COVID-19 in India and worldwide. The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has been delivered by the recently renamed Ministry of Education. The approach has given another face to the Online Education System in India. Applications of this study: The finding of the current investigation is a portrayal of opportunities and challenges in receiving the online teaching-learning education system by the public and private educational institutions. It will help in the planning and development of strategies to handle the challenges and opportunities of e-learning during the current global epidemic. Novelty of the study: The authors endeavored to address the web-based learning and teaching in the school training system in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The capacity of offered resources in academic organization effectively changed conventional education into online schooling with the help of virtual classes and other urgent online gadgets in this reliably moving instructive scene.

Neste trabalho, discutimos a avaliação como parte do processo ensino-aprendizagem. Até a década de 80, as provas escritas, sendo elas discursivas ou objetivas, eram o elemento central do processo de avaliação, sendo consideradas o único método para se avaliar. Porém, a partir da década de 90, a comunidade educacional começou a perceber que a avaliação deveria ir além do seu caráter classificatório passando a ser um procedimento diagnóstico e somativo. Para isso, a avaliação deve estar aliada aos processos de ensino e aprendizagem, sendo um processo bem mais abrangente denominado Ensino-Aprendizagem-Avaliação (ONUCHIC; ALLEVATO, 2011). Dessa maneira, faz-se necessário repensarmos as práticas em sala de aula e buscarmos alternativas que integrem esses três importantes mecanismos. Nesse sentido, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi verificar a funcionalidade de um método de avaliação que promova a aprendizagem dos alunos. Relatamos uma experiência de avaliação realizada com alunos dos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental, utilizando a Avaliação por observação com intervenção imediata no ensino de Ciências aliada ao método de Resolução de problemas. Apesar desse método de avaliação ainda ser pouco utilizado, principalmente no Ensino fundamental, concluímos que é uma metodologia eficaz de avaliação que pode ser utilizada na promoção da aprendizagem, inclusive no ensino de Ciências. Resolução de problemas.   Integrated evaluation of the teaching-learning process in science: a proposal applied to the final years of elementary school Abstract In this article, the evaluate as component of the teaching-learning process was discussed. Until the 1980s, written tests (whether discursive or objective), were the central element for the evaluation process, being considered the unique method for this purpose. However, from the 90's, the educational community realized that the evaluation should overcome its classificatory character, becoming a diagnostic and summative procedure. For this purpose, the evaluation must be connected to the teaching and learning processes, as a much more comprehensive process, namely Teaching-Learning-Assessment (Onuchic; Allevato, 2011). In this sense, it's necessary to rethink classroom practices, and look for alternatives that could integrate these three important mechanisms. In this way, the aim of the present paper was to verify the functionality of an evaluation method, which could promotes students learning. It was reported an evaluation experience with the final years of Elementary School students, using the Observation Assessment with immediate intervention in the Sciences teaching, associated to the Problem Solving method. Although this evaluation method is not largely used, mainly in Elementary School, this assessment methodology was reported as effective, which can be employed to promote learning,  including in Science teaching. The USherbrooke Faculty of Engineering is recognized as a leader in innovation and research in engineering education. The Université de Sherbrooke was the second university in Canada to offer co-op programs for its students in 1966 and is now among the top 10 higher education institutions in North America for the significance of its co-op system. The faculty of engineering was the first in Canada to offer an undergraduate mechanical engineering program based on professional competencies with design as the ultimate competency integration activity - the backbone of the entire program. In 2001, we introduced completely redesigned electrical and computer engineering programs based on two complementary frameworks. The first one is a competency-based framework used to have a better alignment between teaching/learning activities, program objectives and competences development. The second one, called the learning framework, introduces a paradigm shift from passive to active learning methodologies with the deployment of problem and project based learning situations. Over the years, the faculty of engineering has developed many original approaches to both design of curriculum and faculty organisation. We also developed considerable expertise to improve teaching and learning especially integration of curriculum elements, the development of team skills and of a professional culture, the use of design projects extending over more than one year with links to industry, the use of portfolio to track competencies development, active learning environment such as problem and project-based learning and in utilising novel assessment techniques to improve learning. All these initiatives have been made possible by creating winning conditions to involve faculty members in pedagogical research activities and implementation methodologies. To do that we provided institutional financial support (faculty, university), encouragement, teaching load relief, recognition of faculty involvement in tenure and promotion, professional support for CEAB accreditation requirements, etc.

Modern Techniques are introduced in teaching and learning process frequently one such technique is Flipped Classroom learning.  Where the pupils are asked to learn the contents given to them at their home from the available sources and they review the topics in their classroom.  Since every student collect information from various sources like YouTube, Video lessons, different types of educational apps, Magazines and sources from elders etc. the collection will be excellent to review and collective ideas can help them to learn better than routine blackboard chalk and talk method by doing.  So, they learn effectively and their doubts are cleared through discussion with peers in the presence of teacher.  The teacher can conclude the teaching learning process by giving extra information left untouched by the students.  The researcher is a computer science teacher so she took a lesson from Eleventh Standard Computer Science text book of State board in the 4th Chapter of Volume - I, "Theoretical Concepts of Operating System" and she prepared a video lesson, that video lesson is utilized by the students to learn the contents allotted to them.  The Conclusion of her studying, she found that flipped classroom learning is effectively impact in the course content to the students.

Innovators and abstract thinkers - students who question why are going to be the future of engineering, of science and cures for diseases. Rarely do students ask where and how innovation is created. Students, particularly post-secondary students have lost their curiosity and they have lost their ability to question. Why? Because the relationship between theory and application has been removed from our high schools. Although the term “STEM” is generally used, students do not appear to understand the importance of core STEM principles such as Newton’s 2nd law and therefore do not understand the influence these basic algorithms have in daily life. In recent decades, high school education has focused on quizzes and exams, state and national standardize testing and SATs. More emphasis is placed on performing well on these exams, focusing on memorization and test taking rather than on thorough comprehension. The question is, “how do you translate theory to application in the high school classroom?” Students’ knowledge and engagement are only as good as their teachers. Educators need to be given the proper tools, resources, and knowledge. CAPSULE, a capstone-based experience provides tools, resources, and knowledge to enhance the teaching and learning involvement. CAPSULE teaches and promotes inquiry, exploration and application rather than just theory. The methodology engages and educates hands-on learning, teamwork and multiple solutions through the engineering design process (EDP). The theory behind innovation is the motivation for CAPSULE – to teach and engage teachers using 3D modeling, EDP, and project-based learning to create a high school capstone experience. This paper presents a new approach of teaching STEM related courses to high school students. The methodology presented is on “training the trainer” to enable and empower teachers to master and utilize this new approach.

This study aimed to identify the main decisions made by pedagogical leaders, comprising institutional management teams, heads of departments, and teachers in general, in order to improve teaching–learning processes and promote the comprehensive education of students—in particular, secondary school students during the pandemic period, located in the regions of Andalusia and Madrid (Spain). An integrated mixed methodology was applied, composed of the contributions of discussion groups and content analysis of the corresponding open questions presented in each of the constitutive dimensions of the questionnaire. Such analyses were expanded by applying an ad-hoc designed questionnaire, which indicates the main actions developed by leaders and their implications in the educational community, when working on communication facilitation processes, using program planning through the support of technologies and decision making regarding the training of teachers, didactic resources, and the emergence of competences to be trained by the leaders participating in the research. The results highlight the dedication, commitment, and implication of pedagogical leaders during the COVID-19 period.

The goal of this writing is to explore the learning speaking through learning community. Learning community is of element of contextual teaching and learning. Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) is approaches to be most effective in student learning, teachers must plan, implement, reflect upon, and revise lessons. Such plans are based on CTL principles and approaches that require teachers to serve in the following roles: facilitator, organizer of the teaching/learning/assessment process, role model, learning mentor, content specialist, and knowledge dispenser. A learning community is a model of teaching and learning that has been consistently shown to improve students’ speaking. The reason why learning community can enhance the students’ in expressing idea because it has the meaning as follows: 1).Group of learning which communicate to share the idea and experience, 2).Working together to solve the problem and 3).The responsibility of each member of learning group.
