The use of technology as a teaching tool, for example, self-paced programmed instruction, has a long history. However, developments in “high tech” support have considerably broadened the choice and viability of alternative learning contexts and the question of the value of technology for learning has been argued on both sides. There are those who assert that technology has no influence on learning under any circumstances (Clark, 1983). Rather, it affects only the cost or extent of instructional delivery. It is the quality of instruction itself that impacts learning (Clark, 1994). Others claim that the characteristics and capabilities of various technologies do indeed interact with learners, and that effects vary based on characteristics of both the technology and the learner (Kozma, 1991).

Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is a kind of high-tech cementitious material with superb mechanical and durability properties compared to other types of concrete. However, due to the high content of cement and silica fume used, the cost and environmental impact of UHPC is considerably higher than conventional concrete. For this reason, several efforts around the world have been made to develop UHPC with greener and less expensive local pozzolans. This study aimed to design and produce UHPC using local fly ash available in Colombia. A numerical optimization, based on Design of Experiments (DoE) and multi-objective criteria, was performed to obtain a mixture with the proper flow and highest compressive strength, while simultaneously having the minimum content of cement. The results showed that, despite the low quality of local fly ashes in Colombia, compressive strength values of 150 MPa without any heat treatment can be achieved.

ABSTRACT This pedagogical study examines accounting undergraduate students' performance, satisfaction, and perceived course effectiveness under two distinct modes of course delivery: traditional live-instructed classes and teacher-less pre-recorded online lectured classes. Hypotheses testing on the differences and possible factors influencing the two settings are based upon data collected from two sections of each introductory accounting course: Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting. The findings on students' performance indicate no significant differences in students' grades in each mode of course delivery. Live lectures given in traditional classrooms do not affect students' overall learning when compared to a teacher-less course environment. The results of testing indicate that a student's prior GPA and interest in the course material are the most important factors that determine his or her final course grade. This study also provides some evidence that students' satisfaction and perceived effectiveness is greater in a traditional course setting. The methodology employed in this research avoids many of the problems encountered in prior studies. The main findings are also useful to university instructors and administrators in terms of the use of technology and its impact on the cost and effectiveness of introductory accounting courses.

In the presented article there will be discussed measures which allow to lower expenses for the maintenance of the machinery and which contribute to the increase of energy saving in general. To achieve these goals, it is proposed to apply modern methods of organizing and operation works, to use high-tech construction equipment, and also to form an optimal mechanization complex of building and construction works. The optimization criterion is the cost of work. When determining costs for the operation of construction machinery at the site, we take into account their energy efficiency, compare the options and manage the most efficient fleet of construction equipment. In the course of meeting the task, there were drawn conclusions which demonstrate that an integrated approach to the formation of machinery parks on the construction site allows to use the available resources more rationally, in order to improve the environmental component and improve the quality of construction work.

Aspheric surfaces of high precision and low roughness are widely used in the military field, the aeronautics and astronautics field and some high-tech fields. Therefore, research works on the methods and equipments of digitalized polishing for aspheric surfaces are a hot issue in the modern precision manufacturing. The traditional precision manufacturing mainly depends on the higher precision equipments to promote the surface quality of aspheric surfaces, but the cost of equipments seems to be extremely expensive. Taking the general CNC lathe of two axis interpolation as a platform, and basing on the controllable damping characteristic of the Magnetorheological Fluids (MRF), a new kind of compliant polishing tool system for aspheric surfaces is developed in this paper. The tool system keeps the polishing force to be stable by the torque servo unit of MRF, and implements the compliant polishing.

Relevance of the research topic is due to the specificity and growing strategic importance of the development of high-tech industry, the production of high-tech products, as well as the desire of business owners to constantly increase its value. The main problems and prospects for the intensification of innovation in terms of its impact on the speed and quality of its development are reviewed. The essential characteristics of innovation and investment activity are analyzed, the progressiveness of the stages of functioning of the subjects of the innovation and investment process, united by a common goal, is revealed. Contributed by the author to the definition of high-tech business. Analyzed the main methodological approaches to assessing the value of the business. The factors that have the greatest influence on the formation of conditions for increasing the cost of high-tech business have been studied. The methodological tools for assessing the contribution of the innovation and investment component to the increase in the value of the high-tech business have been improved. The nature of the relationship and interdependence of two types of activity: innovation and investment, as well as opportunities for the development of high-tech business and the growth of its value are analyzed.

Progress in information technology that is so fast is expected to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. In the world of information technology education can help and support the learning process. Especially now all the learning process activities can be done online. Progress in information technology must also be supported by quality human resources. In this case the teacher is very instrumental in the utilization of information technology in the world of education. Because the teacher is one of the education supervisors who will encourage the advancement of the quality of education in Indonesia. But in reality the quality of teachers in Indonesia is inadequate. There are still many teachers who cannot use information technology in learning especially for teachers who are senior or old. As teacher supervisors, they must improve the quality of their performance in using technology. To improve the ability of teachers to use technology, ongoing training is needed to use technology. The role of the head of the school as a supervisor is also needed, namely the principal is obliged to supervise, control, and approach the teacher in terms of the use of technology in the learning process.

It seems that educational system in Nigeria has undergone only quantitative improvement in terms of number of schools and students’ enrolment. However, there has been little effort in respect to the capacity to manage them through provisions of adequate financial, human, material and physical resources. Physical and material resources in secondary schools were discovered to be inadequate and poorly equipped. Some of the secondary school buildings were dilapidated, also the allocated financial resource, teaching and non-teaching staff are grossly inadequate compared with the students’ enrolment. The public, the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders in education are expressing serious concern about the consistency of the poor performance of secondary school students especially in mathematics. Increase in population and the government’s free education programs make people want to take advantage of the education provided. Provision of both professionally qualified and non-qualified teachers by government and non-state providers of education also appear not to ameliorate the problem of declining performances in mathematics. The effect of all these on the public secondary school student academic performance in mathematics concern the researchers of this study. It is against this background that the study sought to empirically investigates effect of resource factors and quality of instruction on performance in mathematics of Nigeria secondary school students.

The accuracy in administering the diagnosis code was the important matter for medical recorder, quality of data was the most important thing for health information management of medical recorder. This study aims to know the coder competency for accuracy and precision of using ICD 10 at X Hospital in Pekanbaru. This study was a qualitative method with case study implementation from five informan. The result show that medical personnel (doctor) have never received a training about coding, doctors writing that hard and difficult to read, failure for making diagnoses code or procedures, doctor used an usual abbreviations that are not standard, theres still an officer who are not understand about the nomenclature and mastering anatomy phatology, facilities and infrastructure were supported for accuracy and precision of the existing code. The errors of coding always happen because there is a human error. The accuracy and precision in coding very influence against the cost of INA CBGs, medical and the committee did most of the work in the case of severity level III, while medical record had a role in monitoring or evaluation of coding implementation. If there are resumes that is not clearly case mix team check file needed medical record the result the diagnoses or coding for conformity. Keywords: coder competency, accuracy and precision of coding, ICD 10
