The aim of this chapter is to provide some indications on the background of our research regarding the use of simulation games for learning geometry and arithmetic. We reinterpret certain educational goals from the perspective of the anthropology of the virtual. Within this context, a number of important international commissions on math teaching are analyzed with particular reference to the difficulties involved in finding the right balance between the need for a formal mathematical language and teaching solutions to guide learning.

Abstrack- Educational Administration is the whole process of collaboration of two or more people by utilizing all available personnel and material resources and appropriate to achieve the educational goals that have been set effectively and efficiently. Professional teaching is a profession that is very important in the life of a nation, this is not because the educational position is very important in the context of national life. Educators are the dominant element in an educational process, so that the quality of education is largely determined by the quality of educators in carrying out their roles and duties in societ. Therefore the development of the teaching profession will have a major impact on improving the quality of education that is still lagging behind, as well as giving the right direction for students to play a role in the community to participate with the community in building the nation.

In the world of education, of course the learning process also takes place, and the learning process requires the right method. Mistakes using the method, can hinder the achievement of desired educational goals. In fact, education shows that students play a more important role as objects and teachers act as subjects. The information center or learning center is the teacher, so it often happens students will learn if the teacher teaches. In this study using contextual learning compared with conventional learning. In addition to learning methods communication techniques are also needed to support the success of students. In this study using quasi quantitative research methods, with ANCOVA analysis techniques. Overall contextual learning is superior compared to conventional learning and teacher communication techniques affect learning outcomes with sig values. 0,000 ≤ 0.05.

The purpose of this contribution is to describe innovative proto-mathematical educational activities at kindergarten level (K) in the context of semiotic mediation. As a result of preliminary analysis of the major difficulties in writing numbers and recognizing the semantic value of the decimal position system found in primary school children, it was decided that the teaching of the different numbering systems would be brought into K, with the help of specific games. The goal is to demonstrate the importance of the natural and simple nature of “mathematical” language for the child, to stress the role of tools in the mathematical learning processes, and to highlight the role of the teacher in the collective mathematical discussion.

The authors of this chapter carried out a systematic review of the literature from 1998 to 2008 with the goal of developing conceptual definitions of game, simulation, and simulation game based on their essential attributes. This chapter first describes the motivation for this project and its methodological approach. It then introduces the databases consulted, and the analysis grid used. Finally, it presents the review results, which suggest a differentiation among games, simulations and simulation games. This analysis is intended to improve the precision of future research studies concerning the effects on learning of games, simulations, and simulation games.

The chapter defines the criteria on which the choices for the design and realisation of the simulation games were based as well as the educational goals. Two simulation games are presented, one for geometry the other for arithmetic; these are supplemented by the relevant documentation, a description of the materials and the observation and verification instruments.

What do we tell our students? the question implies a range of assumptions, most obviously the simple hope that such a conversation might even take place. Imagine a student dropping by during office hours or approaching us after class to ask for our thoughts on the choice of a major. Or consider a different scenario: the faculty member struggling to find the right tone in order to strike up a conversation with a student about his or her academic plans. Certainly such discussions take place, certainly teachers and students talk about educational goals, and certainly a teacher's advice can at times be important for a student. Yet all this reassurance cannot disguise the fragility of the situation. For it is equally certain that the question overstates the frequency, significance, and ramifications of these sorts of exchanges. Parental pressure plays a larger role in the real decision making than does a teacher's advice. (Perhaps there is a journal somewhere for parents of college students with a discussion on “Choosing the Right Major: What DoWe Tell Our Children?”) Many of us have spoken with students who plea their interest in selecting a literature major but find themselves compelled by their parents to choose something allegedly more practical. I for one have rarely met students passionate about a major in business but whose families heartlessly forced them to study literature.

The level of corruption in Indonesia has not decreased significantly even though there have been severe criminal penalties and prevention systems carried out. It is considered that the behavior of corruption is taken root in the mentality of the Indonesian people. Therefore, anti-corruption education needs to be provided early to reduce the possibility of someone to commit corruption when they are adults. The right education method can provide significant results in achieving educational goals to be achieved. The Community Service Team of the Communication Science and Psychology Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya held an anti-corruption education for elementary school students in collaboration with Sawah Baru Elementary School. The target of this program is elementary school students in grades 3, 4 and 5. In this anti-corruption education, the team used storytelling methods to facilitate and increase understanding in participant's mind. It turns out that this storytelling method has a large impact on the understanding of corruption in the view of elementary school students. In the future, we hope anticorruption education can be held in every school or into the education curriculum.
