A Comparative Study on New Generation Learning and Awareness

Considering the evolutionary process of education and training from past to present, access to information is possible in many different ways such as written, visual, auditory, virtual, online, offline, one-to-one, or in classrooms regardless of age, place, and time. Within the scope of this study, a questionnaire was applied to undergraduate students who were studying at two different universities in Ankara and Izmir during 2018-2019 academic year by convenience sampling method. The survey data gathered from these universities were analyzed and compared to assess student awareness of new generation learning environments. According to the results of this survey, it is found that the undergraduate students had awareness about the new generation learning environments and that the awareness increases towards the upper grades. On the other hand, it is also found out that YouTube is the most preferred platform among the electronic learning resources.

This article examines the influence of static/interactive infographics on reflective/impulsive students’ academic achievement. The study sample consisted of 80 undergraduate students who were divided into two groups according to their cognitive style (reflective/impulsive). Each group was further divided into two sub-groups based on the type of infographics (static/interactive) to be evaluated. The findings showed that interactive infographics are more effective than static infographics in improving academic achievement. Reflective students outperformed impulsive students in terms of academic achievement, and there was a significant interaction between interactive infographics and reflective students. This study may serve as a guide for educators and designers of learning resources in selecting the most appropriate forms of technology conforming to students’ varying cognitive styles. Implications for practice or policy: The designers of e-learning environments must focus on the cognitive style of each learner. The design of those environments must take into account the diversity of information presentation methods to meet the various cognitive styles. Students' academic achievement can be improved by the use of interactive infographics due to their richness in material, multimedia approach, and interactivity that stimulate and communicate with learners’ senses and positively affect their acquisition of information.

This paper focuses onidentifying the attitudes of the students of Tafila Technical University towards distance learning. The study sample consisted of 314 undergraduate students for the academic year 2020/2021. The results of the study show that students’attitudes toward distance learning were positive. As for the difference between students’ attitudes and study variables, it was found that there were no differences between students’attitudes towards distance learning and gender (males and females). On the other hand, differences were found due to the type of college and were in favor of the scientific colleges.

Electronic learning (E-learning) strategies require a realization of the changes in both the demand and supply of e-learning resources. The conceptualization of e-learning, a precedent stage in any e-learning strategy development, affects the deployment and use of e-leaning. Since the development of e-learning strategies corresponds to different models available, this chapter aims at highlighting on and proposing an e-learning fourfold strategy in the management of universities. The strategies to this effect are: Ideological, Methodological, Output, and Ecological. The chapter heretofore rationalises that the Ecological strategies have an impact on the other three. Universities are therefore called to develop a clear e-learning strategy framework that is commensurate with the existential needs; hence, a strategy that reflects and actuates the mission and vision of a university within a specific context. The chapter therefore analyses the impact of the fourfold strategy with particular reference to Africa-based universities.

This chapter reviews the concept of personalised eLearning resources in relation to integrating interactivity into asynchronous learning. Personalised eLearning resources are learning resources which are selected to suit a specific student or trainee’s individual learning requirements. The affordance of personalised eLearning would provide educators with the opportunity to shift away from eLearning content that is retrieved and move towards the provision of personalised interactive content to provide a form of asynchronous learning to suit students at different degree levels. A basic introduction to the concept of ePedagogy in online learning environments is explored and the impacts these systems have on students learning experiences are considered. Issues, controversies, and problems associated with the creation of personalised interactive eLearning resources are examined, and suggested solutions and recommendations to the identified issues, controversies, and problems are reviewed. Personalised interactive asynchronous learning resources could potentially improve students’ learning experiences but more research on the human computer interface of these authoring tools is required before personalised eLearning resources are available for use by non-technical authors.

The Kingdom of Morocco is also affected by the COVID-19 in all filed. The coronavirus shutdown has been a great challenge for health policymakers, the citizens, and those traveling down for various reasons. Among them, there are undergraduate students, physicians seeking postgraduate education…etc. Some were lucky enough to start their courses online, pending the time to come to Morocco for continuing their studies. But unfortunately, this was not the case for the potential neurosurgical residents that were already accepted, and some were even holding scholarships but were unable to join their training centers. Meanwhile, a substantial effort has been made to feel the tremendous lack of neurosurgeons in Sub-Saharan Africa by quality massive education and training of neurosurgeons from those countries. Thus, these consequences of the COVID-19 shutdown are a dropping stone in a quiet lack, delaying the important project of the WFNS and others to fill up this gap. At the same time, it is worth thinking about the innovative model of neurosurgical education and training for the new generation of Sub-Saharan African neurosurgeons.

This article is about visual issues in the presentation of mathematics within teaching situations. It focuses particularly on the presentation of proofs to undergraduate students. We describe some of the decisions that a lecturer must make when presenting a written proof, from the layout of individual equations to the layout of a whole argument on the page. We consider the way in which these decisions are made explicit for lecturers who construct electronic learning resources termed e-Proofs, and conclude by discussing the constraints and affordances of this technology.

In the modern educational space regarding the realities of the information society special importance is attached to issues related to the provision of a high level of informatization of education, which implies teachers’ mastering the necessary competencies and the ability to introduce e-learning resources into educational and training practice. Adobe Flash as one of the platforms for creating web applications and multimedia presentations enjoys greatest popularity with users including teachers. However, in connection with the announcement of discontinuing Adobe Flash support in 2020, the issue of choosing an analog to create web applications and presentations for use in teaching purposes is becoming particularly relevant. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of developing electronic educational resources by teachers using Adobe Flash and HTML5 for teaching math in primary school.
