The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the application of advanced data analytics in the domain of strategic procurement and its effects on processes, people, and on the procurement business model itself. Advanced data analytics are generally accepted as being one of the key enablers for organisations to build their capabilities to adapt quickly and navigate through volatile business circumstances successfully. Strategic procurement is in a pivotal position in a network of external suppliers and internal stakeholders, and thus ideally positioned to benefit from the introduction of advanced data analytics. However, to date, the application of these technologies has been limited, and clear evidence of benefits delivery is yet to be demonstrated. This chapter draws upon research results from a detailed case study in the aviation industry to assess the benefits of advanced data analytics in the strategic procurement function and puts forward a maturity model of relevance to both researchers and procurement professionals.

However, logistics has always been an obstacle to business growth in the SME sector. In Indonesia, logistics costs are still high compared to GDP, which is the background of problems that can be solved by implementing logistics 4.0. This literature will provide input for SME entrepreneurs, who will carry out digital transformation in the logistics sector of their business. The inputs that will be given include the importance of digital transformation in the logistics sector and the benefits that will be provided as a result of digital transformation. By using the digital maturity model for logistics 4.0 concept as a research method, an SME will be able to find its current state and also be able to determine strategies that will help SMEs go to their intended future state. Various analyzes will be carried out to determine the state of the SME business, so that appropriate digital transformation can be carried out regarding the SME logistics current state.

AbstractThis chapter describes the quantitative approaches for assessing various aspects of digital transformation from the joint research and development project #ko.vernetzt. In an application-oriented case study approach, the operationalization of a maturity model of digital transformation for educational organizations (MMEO) and the design and implementation of a multi-perspective evaluation concept are outlined. While the MMEO provides a state perspective on the digital transformation of an educational organization and its employees, the evaluation concept aims at tracing developments of media-related professional competencies. MMEO has been implemented in a study with N = 222 participants, while N = 59 learners were subject to the evaluation polls. The results provide the necessary evidence for implementing and continuously improving a qualification program in the regarded research context. However, the methodology can also be transferred to other organizations in the education sector and beyond.

Today's ever-changing business environment is very demanding for companies, particularly those of modest dimensions and operating in more traditional formats. There is an imperative change happening in market and consumer behavior – a need for digital transformation or digital complement to the traditional business model, aiming at improving the lives of individuals, groups, and society as a whole. A Portuguese small company that manufactures cookies and biscuits has identified a need to move forward and revitalize its traditional business format, preserving its traditional origins but seeking to reframe its business in a more digital context. The main goals of the case study are to understand (1) this brand's evolution, (2) its primary difficulties, and (3) strengths, and the authors also indicate possible future paths that can be replicated in other similar businesses.
