In this paper, the authors analyze approaches for addressing sustainability in established IT-Governance frameworks. Such frameworks are considered to be a powerful tool for ensuring compliance and proper IT operation in modern organizations. The authors assume that – in the context of the seismic changes in IT provisioning and usage that current trends such as Cloud Computing and Hybrid Computing are causing – there are potentials in them to improve sustainability of organizations' operations at both IT and business level too. The analysis is conducted in a holistic way, taking into account organizational and process aspects, sustainability of resource usage, IT-related aspects, as well as incorporating the view of the overall IT-Governance. The presented case study within a mid-sized German enterprise provides a corroboration of the proposed approach by measures for both its feasibility and effectiveness.

Enterprises today often strive to keep up with the paces of technological development. A particular case in point is the IT function where traditional governance approaches are often questioned by technology trends. Examples for such trends in the last ten years are the service-oriented architecture (SOA) and cloud computing. The introduction of SOA in the enterprise was one of the key enablers for cloud computing. Therefore, it can serve as a natural fit for bringing traditional IT governance approaches forward to the challenges of cloud governance. This article presents an approach for extending IT governance mindsets to the areas of SOA and cloud governance. It allows an IT organisation the adaptation and the continuous usage of already established governance knowledge and models during the adoption of cloud computing solutions. The authors also present an application case study where they demonstrate the feasibility of the approach in real-life scenarios in the context of an international telecommunication provider.

 Cloud computing is the buzz word in today’s Information Technology. It can be used in various fields like banking, health care and education. Some of its major advantages that is pay-per-use and scaling, can be profitably implemented in development of Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP. As the world becomes increasingly interlinked through the Internet, cyberspace frauds are also on the rise. This is a case study on a company, Pyramid Cyber Security (P) Ltd., which specializes in digital crime, fraud and forensic solutions and services in India. Over the years, the company has established several digital forensics laboratories and security projects for agencies in law enforcement, the public sector and corporate organizations. With the scalability, flexibility and economic advantage offered by cloud computing, more and more organizations are moving towards cloud for their applications. With all the benefits of cloud computing, it also opens up a company to the danger of digital crime and security breaches on the cloud platform. This has thrown open new vistas for Pyramid, putting it in a dilemma of whether to focus on the existing business or explore new opportunities in cloud forensics investigation thrown by the wide acceptance of cloud computing. It also poses the question whether a company should go in for pre-incident or post-incident digital network security architecture. It is a teaching case.

Data protection and data privacy are significant challenges in cloud computing for multinational corporations. There are no standard laws to protect data across borders. The institutional and regulatory constraints and governance differ across countries. This article explores the challenges of institutional constraints faced by cloud computing service providers in regard to data privacy issues across borders. Through a qualitative case study methodology, this research compares the institutional structure of a few host countries, with regard to data privacy in cloud computing and delineates a relative case study. This article will also review the cloud computing legal frameworks and the history of cloud computing to make the concept more comprehensible to a layman.

This study examines the current trends and complexities in qualitative research in three major language teaching andlearning journals published from 2006–2015. After categorizing 781 articles into quantitative, qualitative, mixedmethods, and other approaches, 226 qualitative research articles were closely examined and further analyzed in termsof four dimensions: approaches, methods, number of participants, and length of research period. The findingsshowed that case study was the most frequently employed approach, followed by ethnography. The study alsoidentified that while interviews, observations, discourse analysis, and conversation analysis were relatively wellutilized, more than 150 different data collection and analysis methods were used. Although the results of the studyshow a tendency to use certain approaches and methods in qualitative research more than others, they alsodemonstrate the complexity and diversity of qualitative research and the difficulty in clarifying and categorizingtypes of qualitative research in language teaching and learning.

Relatively new in Romania, IT governance is defined as procedures and policies established in order to assure that the IT system of an organization sustains its goals and strategies. This bundle of policies and procedures, following the best practices in the area, intends to guide and control the IT function in order to add value to the organization and to minimize IT risks. The purpose of the research is to identify the measure in which the IT governance practices are implemented to the level of the financial institutions in Romania. The goal of this paper is a comparative analysis for implementing IT governance using data offered by the IT Governance Institute. This institute makes every year a study (IT Governance Global Status Report – 2006) to determine a sense of priorities and to develop actions for implementing IT governance, using data which acknowledges once more the need for all organizations to have tools and services to assure an efficient IT governance. In this way, the research will analyze, in the field of Romanian financial institutions, the most serious IT problems pointed out by the respondents from the last year, the most efficient measures considered by top management for resolving problems pointed out, the best used practices in IT governance and the most used frameworks for implementing IT governance practices.
