Studies of technology acceptance suggest that individuals' perceptions of usage might be antecedents to predict their adoption. This research study explored students' and professors' perceptions regarding a web-based tool for political science education; the ultimate goal was to identify students and professors' perceived usefulness and usability and thus their intention to adopt the solution as a learning tool. Forty participants answered a survey questionnaire, and quantitative and qualitative approaches were followed to uncover the relationships between usability principles, innovation attributes, and perceptions of usage. The results of the study provide new insight into the factors that may contribute to the acceptance of the learning tool, and ultimately to its actual use.

Irrigated agriculture determines large blue water withdrawals, and it is considered a key intervention area to reach sustainable development objectives. Precision agriculture technologies have the potential to mitigate water resource depletion that often characterises conventional agricultural approaches. This study investigates the factors influencing farmers’ intentions to adopt variable rate irrigation (VRI) technology. The Technology Acceptance Model 3 (TAM-3) was employed as a theoretical framework to design a survey to identify the factors influencing farmers’ decision-making process when adopting VRI. Data were gathered through quantitative face-to-face interviews with a sample of 138 fruit and grapevine producers from the Northeast of Italy (Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia). Data were analysed using partial least squares path modelling (PLS-PM). The results highlight that personal attitudes, such as perceived usefulness and subjective norm, positively influence the intention to adopt VRI. Additionally, the perceived ease of use positively affects intention, but it is moderated by subject experience.

This study was aimed to investigate the determinants of actual use of computer based transaction processing system among employees in minimarkets in Padang, Indonesia. In addition to Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness which are the basic models of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Subjective norm was conceptualized as an external variable that affecting Technology Acceptance among users of transaction processing system. In total, 246 employees participated in this study. The results show that the perceived ease of use positively affects Perceived Usefulness and Attitude. Furthermore, perceived usefulness and subjective norm have positively affected on Attitude. Likewise Attitude has positively affected on Actual Use. This study reveals that employees tend to comply the peers’ opinion on using transaction processing system. For future research is expected to expand the TAM model by adding external variables and individual characteristics as a moderator variable

Kahoot is a free web-based application, which allows tertiary educators to incorporate gamified learning environments in tertiary teaching and learning. However, there is a shortage of literature on student acceptance and effective use in a learning environment. Therefore, this paper added system interactivity, task-technology and learning-game conflict factor into the Technology Acceptance Model to investigate students intention and usage of Kahoot. Structural Equation Modelling SEM using LISREL was employed to analyze data collected from 250 randomly selected university students. The questionnaires were carried out at the end of the semester, after their final examinations. The results revealed that system interactivity has positive influence (β = 0.311, p = 0.000) on perceived usefulness of Kahoot, while task-technology fit has influence (β = 0.173, p = 0.001) on Kahoot usage. Furthermore, findıngs show that learning-game conflict has (β = 0.096, p = 0.031) positive influence on student behavioral intention. The findings serve as a guide for planning, designing and implementing Kahoot to foster university students’ knowledge acquisition. Discussion and conclusion were provided.

Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is an important tool to understand the dynamics of acceptance of Information Systems in an organization. The model posits that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are key factors in the adoption. This study extends TAM for investigating the user rejection of technology by reversing the two key factors into perceived difficulty of use and perceived uselessness. The study was conducted by surveying the customers of an e-banking application in Turkey who disuse the system. The results reveal important hints for the organization that wants to get an insight into the causes of the system disuse.

Cloud computing services are a prominent innovation that has changed consumer behaviours towards adopting new technological services. Despite the popularity of this technological innovation the underlying factors that contribute to a consumer's intention to adopt cloud computing services has not been well researched. This paper builds upon the well-known behavioural intention theories of the technology acceptance model and social cognitive theory to develop and test a number of hypotheses designed to understand the factors influencing intention to use cloud computing services. The research hypotheses in the paper propose that perceived usefulness, consumer innovation attitude, social norms, performance expectancy and trust influence behavioural intentions of consumers towards cloud computing services. The hypotheses are tested in a sample of United States and Chinese consumers to understand whether there are differences in behavioural attitudes towards technological innovations. The paper identifies research limitations, practical implications and future research suggestions.

The technology acceptance model (TAM) stipulates that both perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) directly influence the end user’s behavioral intention (BI) to accept a technology. Studies have found that self-efficacy is an important determinant of PEOU. However, there has been no research examining the relationship between self-efficacy and BI. The studies on the effect of self-efficacy on PU are also rare, and findings are inconsistent. In this study, we incorporate Internet self-efficacy (ISE) into the TAM as an antecedent to PU, PEOU, and BI. We conducted a controlled experiment involving a Web-based medical record system and 86 healthcare subjects. We analyzed both direct and indirect effects of ISE on PEOU, PU, and BI using hierarchical regressions. We found that ISE explained 48% of the variation in PEOU. We also found that ISE and PEOU together explained 50% of the variation in PU, and the full model explained 80% of the variance in BI.

This research article explores the important elements of trust and transparency to the adoption of e-government services. The Technology Acceptance Model was used as the theoretical framework. The data capture and analyses were conducted with SPSS. The results indicate that trust in the internet was a significant predictor of both the intention to use and perceived ease of use (PEOU), but was not significant in predicting perceived usefulness (PU) and the actual use (AU) of e-government services. Trust in the government (TG) was also not significant in determining both the intention to use and PEOU of e-government services. Rather TG had a significant impact on PU and the actual use (AU) of e-government services. Furthermore, perceived transparency was a significant predictor of PU, IU, and AU of e-government services. The implications of these findings on the implementation of e-government are thoroughly discussed.

The paper examines the critical success factors for employees’ adoption of the unified Local Government Access Framework (LGAF), deployed for the Central Union of Municipalities and Communities of Greece. Following an extensive bibliographical survey, an initial conceptual framework (CF1) based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for LGAF adoption is proposed, which is empirically explored within sixteen Local Governments Organizations. The CF1 is revised using the structured-case approach. New concepts discovered during each research cycle revealed that LGAF adoption is a procedure of experiential judgement. The applicability of the TAM is investigated and the model is enhanced, exploring additional variables that affect perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and actual use. A final complementary CF2 is presented and the evaluation of this model according to the data received from the case studies is discussed.
