The methods in common use for estimating the distribution rate of passenger flow are distribution rate curve method and the function model method. Logit model method is adopted by comparison and selection. The solutions of eigenfunction in traditional model are improved. The utility function of transport product is applied instead of the traditionally used eigenfunction in the Logit model. The distribution rate of passenger transport demand for railway around operation of the passenger dedicated line in Shenyang-Dalian passenger transport market is 55.73% and 69.21% respectively, which is obtained by using improved Logit model. After the operation of the passenger dedicated line, the balance of supply and demand of railway transport product between Shenyang and Dalian can be solved combined with the investigation results of passenger flow.

Evaluation of Competitiveness of Rail Transport on Example of Connection Among Regional Capitals in Czechia The article is focused on evaluating the significance of rail passenger transport in transport contacts among regional capitals in Czechia representing the most important centres in the settlement hierarchy. The review of the particular connections works with the values of the year 2007 and is based on the relationship between supply and demand for rail passenger traffic. The evaluation is based on the number of rail links within the working day, while assuming that the supply is influenced by the location of the centre in the transport network and its position in the settlement hierarchy. Real demand data represent the number of tickets sold by the Czech Railways. Theoretical size of the interaction is obtained by application of the gravity model. Based on the final evaluation of indicators of supply and demand for rail traffic among regional capitals and their interactions, relations are described where demand is substantially below, respectively beyond the level of real supply and theoretical interaction, which is based on the importance of centres and their accessibility of the railway transport in time. In conclusion, the opportunities for the development of infrastructure in the selected connection in relation to transport planning are outlined, using the obtained results.

With the rapid development of high-speed railway in China, high-speed railway transport hub (HRTH) has become the high-density distribution center of passenger flow. In order to accurately detect potential safety hazard hidden in passenger flow, it is necessary to forecast the status of passenger flow. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid temporal-spatio forecasting approach to obtain the passenger flow status in HRTH. The approach combined temporal forecasting based on radial basis function neural network (RBF NN) and spatio forecasting based on spatial correlation degree. Computational experiments on actual passenger flow status from a specific bottleneck position and its correlation points in HRTH showed that the proposed approach is effective to forecast the passenger flow status with high precision.

Urban railway transport that connects suburbs and city areas is characterized by uneven temporal and spatial distribution in terms of passenger flow and underutilized carrying capacity. This paper aims to develop methodologies to measure the carrying capacity of the urban railway by introducing a concept of the express-slow mode. We first explore factors influencing the carrying capacity under the express-slow mode and the interactive relationships among these factors. Then we establish seven different scenarios to measure the carrying capacity by considering the ratio of the number of the express trains and the slow trains, the station where overtaking takes place, and the number of overtaking maneuvers. Taking Shanghai Metro Line 16 as an empirical study, the proposed methods to measure the carrying capacity under different express-slow mode are proved to be valid. This paper contributes to the literature by remodifying the traditional methods to measure the carrying capacity when different express-slow modes are applied to improve the carrying capacity of the suburban railway.

Statement of the problem. Reconstruction of the historical evolution of architectural designing is becoming an urgent need today. The reasons, conditions, processes for the formation of basic ideas and methods that formed the basis of the designing type of thinking and action are still quite poorly understood, especially in a critical aspect. Meanwhile, a considerable part of today's problems and difficulties, as it becomes clear, originates in the era of the emergence of the professional method of designing, in the events of the Modernity. The center of this method is modeling, the evolution of which is considered in this work. Result. The stage of development of design in architectural activity in the Renaissance is considered, most importantly, the methodological contribution of L. B. Alberti. The transformation of the traditional model method of architectural work in the Early Renaissance is shown associated with the isolation of creative actions, personalization of the concept, changes in craft's communications. The craftsman's way of working enters the professional era, which results in a radical change in the nature and place of architectural models. Conclusions. Rethinking, even a reassessment of the importance of modeling in the evolution of designing is required instead of the usual picture of cloudless progress, a critical and problematizing theory should come providing foundations for an instrumental attitude to modeling as one of the methods that is not devoid of shortcomings.

As the passenger flow distribution center cooperating with various modes of transportation, the comprehensive passenger transport hub brings convenience to passengers. With the diversification of passenger travel modes, the passenger flow scale gradually increases, which brings significant challenges to the integrated passenger hub. Therefore, it is urgent to solve the problem of early warning and response to the future passenger flow to avoid congestion accidents. In this paper, the passenger flow GRNN prediction model is proposed, based on the K-means cluster algorithm, and an improved index named BWPs (Between-Within Proportion-Similarity) is proposed to improve the clustering effect of K-means so that the clustering effect of the new index is verified. In addition, the passenger flow data are studied and trained by combining with the GRNN neural network model based on parameter optimization (GA); the passenger flow prediction model is obtained. Finally, the passenger flow of Chengdu East Railway Station has been taken as an example, which is divided into 16 models, and each type of passenger flow is predicted, respectively. Compared with the traditional method, the results show that the model can predict the passenger flow with high accuracy.

The development of agglomerations is connected with the solution of issues of the allocation of territorial zones and ensuring their transport accessibility. The goal of the article is to determine the place of suburban-urban railway transport in the system of urban passenger transport from the point of view of geography. The object of the study was off-street transport of agglomerations. In the framework of the work, the following tasks were solved: a classification of public transport was carried out, factors determining the possibility of using various types of transport were identified and their ranking was performed. The analysis of modern scientific literature and normative acts has revealed contradictions between the concept of “off-street” adopted in the legislation and the established tradition of applying this term to railway transport. The following factors of the efficiency of off-street transport were identified: increasing the speed of correspondence, ensuring the coherence of other modes of transport, servicing the entire territory of the agglomeration.

This paper presents and analyses the redefined Rijeka railway junction. The redefined concept of the Rijeka railroad hub in the context of port and railway interdependence dictates the need to find the accommodation of cargo transport to peripheral locations such as: Krasica, Kukuljanovo, Bakar, Ivani, Bršica and capacity for the island of Krk, while passenger transport would be implemented in the urban area. The most important projects related to Rijeka rail transport system are the construction of a new line of high efficiency between Zagreb and Rijeka, and a new railroad through the tunnel of Učka which will link the ports of Rijeka, Koper and Trieste. Together with the reconstruction of cargo stations Rijeka and Brajdica, an extension of the other tracks on the railroads Škrljevo-Rijeka and Rijeka-Opatija/Matulji should be performed as well as the construction of Krasica, Ivani, Tijani and Vrgljevo stations. The construction includes a multipurpose bridge to the Island of Krk and a railway line to the new container terminal as well as the new railway bypass to “elevation 200”.
