An Approaching on Fuzzy Logic Application for Typical Parts Manufacturing

The paper presents a fuzzy logic based algorithm for the choosing of the gearbox housing work piece in some production conditions. In many cases this problem is solved empirically, based on the experience of the manufacturer. The present work uses the so-called rating of suitability of a part for a certain manufacturing method. It consists of the formalization of the knowledge regarding the production conditions (production volume, loading conditions) using fuzzy sets and then the work piece choosing decision through the comparison between the ratings of suitability of the given part for the considered manufacturing methods that can be used to obtain the given work piece (steel welded, cast iron and aluminum). In order to obtain a general point of view regarding the suitability rate for a specific set of production conditions, a fuzzy logic MATLAB® toolbox was adapted. The described fuzzy logic algorithm allows a rapid, argued choosing of the work piece type in the production of gearbox housings.

The industrial engineering experts consider the product early design stage as one of the most important stage of the design process, because it influences all stages of the product life cycle. One of the capital questions for manufacturing or design engineering people is how simple or elaborated work piece to use for a given part, in a specific set of production conditions. The optimization problem consists of the choosing of the right work piece for the current production conditions. In many cases this problem is solved empirically, based on the experience of the manufacturer. This approach leads to results that are situated more or less close to the optimum for the technical and economical point of view. Fuzzy logic is a method that is used in system control and analysis design, because it shortens the time for engineering development and sometimes, in the case of highly complex systems, is the only way to solve the problem. For the parts manufacturing, the main idea of the algorithm is to formalize the knowledge regarding production volume, geometry, loading conditions and other factors, using fuzzy sets and then to take the work piece choosing decision through the inference rules that are specified to fuzzy logic methodology. The described fuzzy logic algorithm allows a rapid, argued choosing of the work piece type in the production. The paper describes the method implementation for the manufacturing of flanges, including the description of the software results.

Measurement and monitoring of air quality in terms of odor nuisance is an important problem. From a practical point of view, it would be most valuable to directly link the odor intensity with the results of analytical air monitoring. Such a solution is offered by electronic noses, which thanks to the possibility of holistic analysis of the gas sample, allow estimation of the odor intensity of the gas mixture. The biggest problem is the occurrence of odor interactions between the mixture components. For this reason, methods that can take into account the interaction between components of the mixture are used to analyze data from the e-nose. In the presented study, the fuzzy logic algorithm was proposed for determination of odor intensity of binary mixtures of eight odorants: n-Hexane, cyclohexane, toluene, o-xylene, trimethylamine, triethylamine, α-pinene, and β-pinene. The proposed algorithm was compared with four theoretical perceptual models: Euclidean additivity, vectorial additivity, U model, and UPL model.

The disorderly charging behavior of a mobile compound, large-scale electric vehicles in time and space will not only cause the phenomenon of “compound the peak” of the electric load, increase of the peak-valley difference of the grid, and may cause partial overcharge and line congestion and other issues. Relying on the Interval Type-II fuzzy logic algorithm, the two optimization algorithm of interval type 2 fuzzy logic algorithm and genetic algorithm are compared from the space point of view, based on the research on the optimization problem of electric vehicle charging load space allocation, through the results of calculation examples in this paper. Practical results have verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the algorithm, and the interval two fuzzy logic algorithm has high practicability.

В статье исследуются вопросы попечительства в отношении несовершеннолетних, отбывающих наказание в виде лишения свободы. Проблема, поднимаемая автором настоящей статьи, многогранна, касается различных аспектов отбывания наказания несовершеннолетними в воспитательных колониях и требует комплексного исследования, способного ответить на определенно значимый вопрос: является ли колония законным представителем находящихся в ней несовершеннолетних со всеми вытекающими из статуса законных представителей последствиями. При этом необходимо обращать внимание на специфику правового статуса лиц, отбывающих наказание в воспитательных колониях, которые, во-первых, являются несовершеннолетними, то есть не обладают дееспособностью в полном объеме и нуждаются в особой заботе, защите и представительстве, а во-вторых, осуждены за совершение тяжкого или особо тяжкого преступления, влекущего изоляцию от общества и определенные ограничения и лишения. Отечественное законодательство достаточно детально регламентирует особенности режима отбывания наказания в виде лишения свободы несовершеннолетними, не определяя при этом статуса воспитательных колоний, кем они являются: воспитателями, попечителями или исключительно учреждениями исполнения наказаний. Между тем правильное понимание значения и роли воспитательной колонии в жизни находящихся в ней несовершеннолетних преступников, по мнению автора, поможет избежать ряда проблем, объективно складывающихся в учреждениях подобного рода. С этой точки зрения предлагаемая тема представляет интерес не только для ученых-теоретиков, но и для практиков - сотрудников соответствующих учреждений. Особо следует подчеркнуть, что исследований по данной тематике в специальной литературе нет. Отдельные исследования, встречающиеся в современной литературе, касаются исключительно общего гражданско-правового статуса несовершеннолетних осужденных. Однако это обстоятельство может свидетельствовать только о новизне данной темы, но никак не об отсутствии самой проблемы. The article analyzes the issues of the status of educational colonies as guardians of minors serving a sentence of imprisonment. In fact, the problem raised by the author of this article is multifaceted, concerns various aspects of the serving of punishment by minors in educational colonies and requires a comprehensive study that can answer, it seems, a definitely significant question: whether the colony is the legal representative of the minors in it with all the consequences arising from the status of legal representatives in the form of duties and responsibilities. At the same time, it seems, it is necessary to pay attention to the specifics of the legal status of citizens serving sentences in educational colonies, who, firstly, are minors, i.e. do not have full legal capacity and need special care, protection and representation, and, secondly, are convicted of committing a serious or particularly serious crime, entailing isolation from society and certain restrictions and deprivation. Domestic legislation regulates in sufficient detail the peculiarities of the regime of serving sentences in the form of deprivation of liberty by minors, without determining the status of educational colonies. Who are they: educators, Trustees or only institutions of execution of punishments. Meanwhile, the correct understanding of the importance and role of the educational colony in the life of juvenile offenders in it, according to the author, will help to avoid a number of problems that objectively develop in institutions of this kind. From this point of view, the proposed topic is of interest not only for theoretical scientists, but for practitioners-employees of relevant institutions. It should be emphasized that there are no studies on this subject in the special literature. However, this circumstance can testify only about novelty of the given subject, but in any way about absence of the problem. It seems that the relevance and importance of a problem is not always measured by the number of studies devoted to it. Sometimes these its traits are manifest only under particularly careful consideration.

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) during the COVID-19 pandemic is there for all to see, and has undoubtedly mainly concerned the activities of digital radiology. Nevertheless, the strong perception in the research and clinical application environment is that AI in radiology is like a hammer in search of a nail. Notable developments and opportunities do not seem to be combined, now, in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a stable, effective, and concrete use in clinical routine; the use of AI often seems limited to use in research applications. This study considers the future perceived integration of AI with digital radiology after the COVID-19 pandemic and proposes a methodology that, by means of a wide interaction of the involved actors, allows a positioning exercise for acceptance evaluation using a general purpose electronic survey. The methodology was tested on a first category of professionals, the medical radiology technicians (MRT), and allowed to (i) collect their impressions on the issue in a structured way, and (ii) collect their suggestions and their comments in order to create a specific tool for this professional figure to be used in scientific societies. This study is useful for the stakeholders in the field, and yielded several noteworthy observations, among them (iii) the perception of great development in thoracic radiography and CT, but a loss of opportunity in integration with non-radiological technologies; (iv) the belief that it is appropriate to invest in training and infrastructure dedicated to AI; and (v) the widespread idea that AI can become a strong complementary tool to human activity. From a general point of view, the study is a clear invitation to face the last yard of AI in digital radiology, a last yard that depends a lot on the opinion and the ability to accept these technologies by the operators of digital radiology.

In all kinds of traffic accidents, the unconscious departure of the vehicle from the lane is one of the most important reasons leading to the occurrence of these accidents. In view of the specific problem of lane departure, a lane departure decision-making method is established without calibration relying on the Kalman filtering fuzzy logic algorithm, according to the characteristics of expressway lanes, based on the machine vision and hearing fusion analysis of lane departure, integrating the extraction of the linear lane line model and the region of interest (ROI) in this paper to judge the degree of vehicle departure from the lane by integrating the slope values of the 2 lane lines in the road image. The results show that the system has good lane recognition capabilities and accurate departure decision-making capabilities, and meet the lane departure warning requirements in the expressway environment.
