Research device structure upon suppressing impress and wrinkling about three-dimensional numerical control bending machine.3D ship curved-surface outside plate automatic forming process is always the difficult part in the field of domestic and international shipbuilding. Analyzing the problems in existing processing methods ,for example, line heating technology has the defects of poor production conditions, large labor intensity, not environmental friendly and cold bending forming method may result in indentation, wrinkling or rebound phenomenon.Presents the forming process of a ship hull plate based on square head adjustable die curved surface forming device. By setting the non pressure and a plurality of planar head to replace the traditional integral die method, the paper will illustrate the composition and working principles of the process at the same time try to implement effective control of indentation and wrinkle phenomenon followed by verification through experiments.

The deformation machining process (DMP) involves machining and incremental forming of thin structures. It can be applied for manufacturing products such as curved-surface blades without using 5-axis computerised numerical control machines. This work presents the effect of tool diameter and forming temperature on spring-back and dimensional accuracy of a simple fabricated part. The results of the first phase of the study are utilised to design the fabrication process of a curved surface blade. A feature-based algorithm is used to design the tool path for the forming process. The dimensional accuracy of the final product is improved through warm forming, two-point incremental forming, and extension of the bending zone to the outside of the product edges. The results show that DMP can be used to fabricate complex curved-surface workpieces with acceptable dimensional accuracy.

The impeller blades are hard to machine for its complex and curved surface structures. It is almost impossible to manufacture the blades by manual programming on Numerical Control Tool. Now, the program almost is completed by the three-dimensional CAD/ CAM software, such as UG, Pro/Engineer, CimatronE which have a lot of machining strategies suitable for a wide variety of parts. However, the result is not perfect if you choose improper strategies. Even more, machining marks will be left on the parts’ surface. This paper takes the impeller for an example and gives the solutions for eliminating machining marks left on the impeller blades’ surface through a comparative analysis on the 3-axis finish machining strategies in CimatronE.

In the process of three-dimensional curved hull plate forming, springback caused serious influence on the forming accuracy, in order to ensure the forming quality of the asymmetric multiple pressure heads CNC bending machine of ship hull 3D surface plate, to achieve the automatic processing, it is necessary to solve the problem of springback in the hull plate forming process. It is rarely to see the research on the cold bending springback problem of middle-thickness hull plate now. To established nonlinear model of plate parameters and springback amount based on BP neural network, accurately analyzing the prediction of springback, and getting the sptringback prediction model based on the BP neural network in the Matlab programming.

In the recent manufacturing trend and, in particular, in sheet metal forming, the requirement of customized production is still growing. Incremental forming is a special technique requiring no high capacity presses or set of dies, thus meeting the increasing demand for low volume production and rapid prototyping. The complex three dimensional parts of sheet metals are formed by the computer numerical control (CNC) movement of a simple generative hemispherical tool. In this paper, the single point incremental forming process is performed on friction stir processed AA 6063-O alloy. The process parameters for the experiment are taken based on L9 Orthogonal array. In this paper the maximum wall angle or the formability is investigated on a formed pyramid frusta. It is inferred that Friction stir process has improved the ductility of the aluminium alloy thus contributing to enhanced formability.

The existing structures of the steel sinking headgear and permanent headframe do not meet the requirements of resource saving (metal consumption and manpower input at installation), and the present methods of the headframe designing do not fully reflect recent possibilities of applying of the advanced information technologies. Technical level of the modern software makes it possible for designers to set up multiple numerical experiments to create a computer simulation that allows solving the problem without field and laboratory experiments, and therefore without special costs. In this regard, a mathematical simulation has been developed and based on it, software to select cross-sections of multi- purpose steel headframe elements and to calculate proper weight of its metal structures depending on the characteristics and hoisting equipment. A headframe drawing is displayed, as the results of the software work, including list of elements, obtained optimal hoisting equipment in accordance with the initial data. The software allows speeding up graphic work and reducing manpower input on calculations and paper work. The software allows developing a three-dimensional image of the structure and its functional blocks, based on the obtained initial parameters, as well as developing control software for units with numerical control (NC) in order to manufacture multi-purpose headframes.

A new stretch-forming process based on discretely loading for three-dimensional sheet metal part is proposed and numerically investigated. The gripping jaw in traditional stretch-forming process is replaced by the discrete array of loading units, and the stretching load is applied at discrete points on the two ends of sheet metal. By controlling the loading trajectory at the each discrete point, an optimal stretch-forming process can be realized. The numerical results on the new stretch-forming process of a saddle-shaped sheet metal part show that the distribution of the deformation on the formed surface of new process is more uniform than that of traditional stretch-forming, and the forming defects can be avoided and better forming quality will be obtained.

With the advantage of high adaptability, Miura-origami structure with curvature shows various engineering applications such as a sandwich between two stiff facings with curvature requirements and structural support to form a circular tube. In this research, a forming method of polymer circular tube with single-curved surface origami expressed by five parameters was established and its corresponding theory was solved considering forming rationality in actual manufacturing. The components of circular tube were fabricated by the vacuum forming process and then spliced together. We conducted numerical simulation to analyze the structural performance of the tube with five parameters and shown that these parameters have a great influence on energy absorbed performance. Finally, a male mold of a part with Arc Miura-origami structure was designed and fabricated. The parts with Arc Miura-origami were manufactured using vacuum forming process and then spliced and bonded together into a two-layer tube. This research may provide a method to design and fabricate Miura-origami structure with high efficiency and quality.

Elliptical vibration cutting (EVC) process and three dimensional cutting surfaces are analyzed in this paper to understand the formation of surface topography. The model of EVC surface topography is established based on curved surface remove function under the assumption that the tool edge is sharp enough. And simulation analysis of surface topography is conducted with different feed offset ratios. Results indicate that RMS change with feed offset ratios λ. The range of RMS is larger when feed offset ratio ranges from both 0 to 0.4 and 0.6 to 1, while the range is smaller when feed offset ratio changes from 0.4 to 0.6. Whats more, RMS reaches the minimum when feed offset ratio is 0.5. The present research provides some references for reducing the height of vibration ripples and improving EVC surface quality.
