Abstract: A new process that could efficiently prepare tetrasubstituted bis(3-indolyl)methanes from various indoles and acetophenones with 1,3-Dibromo-5,5-dimehtylhydantoin(DBDMH) as a catalyst was reported. The effects of catalysts, solvents, and reaction temperature were investigated. Under the optimal condition, most of the tetrasubstituted bis(3-indolyl)methanes were obtained in 90–99% yields.

AbstractA germ-free rearing system is a crucial method for host–microbiota interactions using Nasonia as a model system. The previous rearing media in 2012 introduced toxic factors like bleach and antibiotics, required significant effort and volume of media preparation, and the rearing protocols in 2012 and 2016 often resulted in embryos, larvae, and enclosing pupae drowning, underfed, or desiccating. In this work, we optimize the germ-free rearing media that excludes the toxic factors and provide a substrate for the developing animals to have constant access to media without the risk of drowning or desiccation. The new process resulted in an increase in full maturation of larvae to adults from 33 to 65%, with no effect on the rate of growth or final adult size. This significantly improves the applicability of germ-free rearing of Nasonia and potentially other parasitoids.

The internet, which started to enter our lives with the last quarter of the 20th century, is being used more and more widely every day due to the facilitating effect of technological innovations on human life. Especially in the last 20 years, people have moved their social lives to the internet due to the fast and practical access to information, the diversity of opportunities it offers, the freedom to meet people from different parts of the world, and similar conveniences. In this new process, which is called the information society, there are many areas from social life to economy, from politics to health. However, this structure, which facilitates human life, has also brought with it negativities that can cause serious problems in interpersonal relations. All these negativities, which have a legal dimension, are described as the concept of “digital violence.”

Abstract In order to solve the flange and dent defects in the end face of the cold extrusion of the connecting screw, the Deform3D software is used to simulate the extrusion forming process of the connecting screw, and the velocity vector is used to study the metal flow law of the part in the cold extrusion process. According to the velocity field and deformation law obtained by the simulation, the end face depression defect in the forming process is predicted. An improved production process is proposed, and the simulation results show that the new process scheme effectively eliminates the “sag” defect on the end face of the part. Finally, the extruded parts with qualified dimensional accuracy are obtained through experiments, and the results are basically consistent with the simulation results.

The diversity of the interpretation of the cause-and-effect relationship by various subjects of law enforcement activity leads to the birth of an absolutely newthing in itself a new process. Then the causal relationship, being a derived category, acquires a new meaning and a new essence, which leads to its modification, contradictions in judicial practice and conflicts between decision-making subjects.

The wide use of cold-formed sections (CFS) in the field of steel constructions, favored by the multiple advantages they offer (lightness, ease of installation, etc.), has led us to reflect on a new process for manufacture of metal beams allowing the design of very large span hangars and a reduction in instability problems. This paper presents a study of the theoretical and numerical behavior of a large span CFS beam with different webs, a solid web, a triangular corrugated web, and a trapezoidal corrugated web. These beams are stressed by a concentrated bending load at mid-span. Numerical modeling was done using the finite element software ABAQUS. The results were validated with those theoretically found, based on the effective width method adopted in standard EN1993-1-3. The load capacity and failure modes of the beams were discussed. According to numerical and analytical analysis, corrugated web beams perform better than all other sections.
